They did an excellent job and I would go to them again.

My dog needs an annual visit - I learned this when they abruptly cut off the medication she needs to live comfortably. Could I schedule the appointment for next month and get one more script to cover the time gap? Nope. So my dog gets to bleed everywhere and be miserable for a while instead. I really bought the “hometown vet that will work with you!” vibe, and now my dog has to suffer. Fine vet if you are meticulous about dates and never expect anything to ever go wrong - don’t expect any notice or help when they do.

My little dog died and ndash; she died a year ago in February so I haven't used them since then. I've been going to them for years. This is what I can say about them and ndash; the vet is like the old fashioned vet. He explained everything. He got a real good one on one kind of approach everything and really explains things in detail what should be doing or what's wrong with the dogs and the office people are so kind and sweet. I know he wants to retire soon but his wife really wants him to retire but he is still hanging in there.

I have used many vets in the past with having cats, dogs and show horses. Dr. Burghard is a very good veterinarian and I highly recommend him. You can trust him to care for your animal. He doesn't overcharge. He doesn't push, but may recommend, special foods and supplements. The ones that I have chosen to try have made a positive difference in my cat's health.

I have always been pleased and pet is also pleased. I have also checked with other vets for second opinion and I wasn't pleased with them either. They might tell you conflicting things about the medicines. They have state of the art medicine. He is nine out of ten very good. Their price is not so much compared to others. If you keep going to the same guy, there is no way to compare. The prices are going up all over the place like crazy. Every time I go its $100. He takes a lot of time with every patient. There are very few personnel there so you know everybody. He is an old fashioned type vet. They are very good. You can get in the same day if you have an emergency. They love dogs. They have got animals all over the places. He talks to everybody and he gets behind and that's a good thing. Once I had a conflicting appointment and I couldn't wait that long, so I left. Then they were really apologetic and sent me a letter. I'm willing to spend time there. They are not so uptight like everybody else out there. They are easy to talk to. They are fine. I have taken dog after dog there. I would use them in the future.

I have been using Dr. Burghard at Werntz for the last 5 years for my dog. He is not only the best vet in Pittsburgh (and I used to go to 3 other vets) but probably one of the best vets in America. He is never in a rush, has an old country style and a staff just the receptionist, himself and his wife as his assistant. He has noticed lumps and bumps on my dog I never even saw and gives you honest very very detailed advice on any question or concern you have. The office is very small and located on a horse farm and if they're busy you might be waiting a minute but trust me Dr. Burghard will give you the same non-rushed attention when you get in to see him. He gives honest straight-shooting answers and never seems like he's just trying to "make a buck" or sell you other services like other vets you have been to. Since he is the only vet there there is no rotating staff of vets and techs who don't know your dog, he will take the time to get to know you and your dog very well.

I liked Dr. Burkhart because he is able to diagnosis things so well. He knows his stuff and he knows animals. I like that he is close to my home also. This was not the first time that I have used this veterinarian.

THE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE IS GOOD. THEY EXPLAINED ALL DETAILS OF THE KENNEL COUGH. THEY ARE RELIABLE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE WAS RECOMMENDED TO US BY A FRIEND.
