I have not had any unexpected issues with the providers. It has an animal hospital attached to it and they take pets that are only associated with the vet clinic. Having that animal hospital is a wonderful benefit. It is an emergency hospital so it is open, like, 24 hours. They are not inexpensive; they are fairly expensive for services provided.
my experience there that day went from annoying to ludicrous.
They are an emergency clinic and i went there on a Sunday. they told me the exam was $106 since it was on a weekend and an emergency, i was fine with that charge, but other expenses were about twice what my regular vet charges.
I was there for over 4 1/2 hours. the tech told me they had trouble with the blood analyzer and the computers. it took them probably an hour and a half to get me into the exam room.. the tech said they had alot of patients in back. What am i paying top dollar for then ? then the vet came in, looked at my cat for 4 minutes and a tech took the cat to do some xrays and blood work. another half hour went by, they brought the cat back. At least another hour went by before they had results. the vet came in for 4-5 minutes and told me it could be one of the fatal feline disease, and her liver was not functioning too well, and they were giving some antibiotics. one was a pill, one was a liquid i had to go and get filled at a PHARMACY.. The next day my vet gave the cat an antibiotic injection that lasted two weeks. i like the injection so i dont have to wrestle with the cat putting a pill down her throat.
Their prices are double or more what my vet charges, for example, they charged me $222 for two half body xrays, which my vet had do re-take because she wanted to see the entire body. my vet charges $104 for two full body xrays.
I called and spoke to the office manager and the head of the clinic. and i told them how unhappy i was and why.
And I will say they had an answer for everything. I wonder if this wasnt the first time they heard complaints like mine ?
I told the head he should take the cost of the x-rays off the bill (because my vet had to repeat the xrays to see the entire cat because their xrays only pictured half the body) . He told me that wouldnt happen. This is as honest and fair as i can be.
Finally, i noticed on several websites, there were other less than stellar reviews of Northview. I wish i had noticed that first.
I could not find one bad review of my regular Vetinarian on the web.
Would i use this provider again? A BIG H*** NO !
I found incorrect information on my cat's records. By August 2008, my cat's blood was basically poisoned from the procedures and treatment by Northview. An important point is that they acted in a strange manner and took offense that I asked if I could get a second opinion.
I sent the blood test to Texas Aand M who said that the blood had the lowest B12 count they had seen in a cat. Unfortunately, it was too much to overcome and my cat passed in February of the following year.
