Tim and his crew were diligent about their work and super respectful of our home. They worked with us to schedule the paint job around other contractor work and before we moved in our furniture. Tim came back himself when the job was done to touch up the only spot they'd missed and some spots that other contractors had scuffed up. Our home is incredibly beautiful now and we can't recommend Timothy Richards Fine Home Painting enough.

On March 30, 2016, Mr. Richards provided a detailed typewritten proposal. I accepted the proposal, signed it and mailed a copy of it to him. He told me he expected to schedule the work during the month of April 2016. I did not ever hear from him again. He did not return phone calls, text messages or emails. I guess he decided he did not want to do the project for which he gave me a proposal but he did not have the courtesy to tell me.

I hired Tim to complete work last summer on my home. He did exterior paint on the house and roof and the two external doors (approx 3K). The job kept getting pushed back and ended up finishing 1.5-2 months past when he said it would. He gave a variety of reasons and I believed them. He didn't charge me for the paint due to the problems. t thought the work was good, however, so I had a discussion with him about what would need to happen to be "first in line" in May 2016 for another job, to avoid the job getting pushed back by delays on other jobs. He said to book him then. I did so, via email to his assistant, Agnes. The new job would also involve exterior painting and some repair on the deck ($2500 was the estimate). Unfortunately, Tim rarely returned my texts, emails or calls. The one time I did get him on the phone, he admitted he did not honor his promise to me and had put other jobs in front of me but said he'd start in two weeks. This happened several times. Today was supposed to be the latest start date. He has not replied to my last 6 texts or the two voice mails I left yesterday. To be clear, I did not exchange any money (this time) for the summer 2016 job, but the unprofessionalism is considerable. I am now mid-way through the summer, stuck trying to start again to find someone to do this job.

Tim did a fantastic job. As a matter of fact, I called him to fix a job that someone else had botched up. After the first mix up, I did a lot or research on the proper technique for painting kitchen cabinets. I was lucky to find Tim. He was meticulous about the prep work as well as applying the finish. He went above and beyond by doing little things (big things to me) like replacing cabinet hardware and spraying all my recessed ceiling light fixtures with enamel. He is a pleasure to be around and has a great sense of color and design. My cabinets look awesome. I looked high and low for someone who could do a quality paint job on my cabinets, and I believe Tim is the only one in the area who really knows how to paint kitchen cabinets. I would definitely recommend Tim and hire him and again.

Tim showed up on the day and at the time he said he would. He and his partner were very careful to cover any areas not to be painted and used clean drop cloths to cover the carpet. They were meticulous about the details and did a superior job.
Also included in the project was a repair to the hall ceiling damaged by water. He patched the damaged area and blended the newly painted area to match the larger remaining part of the ceiling. The paint color is a perfect match.
At the end of each day he insists on cleaning up and vacuuming the work area. He would be a terrific choice if you have young children since he doesn't leave anything lying around that would be dangerous for them.
I have several painting projects in mind for 2014 and Tim will be the professional I want to do them. I enjoyed having him and his partner in my home.
