The Used Furniture Gallery

After contacting several estate sales/estate liquidators, we (and they) concluded that we didn't have enough goods to sell to make it worth our while to sell. In short, due to their fees and charges, any money made would barely cover our expenses. We instead contacted Bill Cornelius at Used Furniture Gallery. Bill came to our home, looked over what we had, then went through the house room by room, tagging those items he was willing to purchase. When he was done he went to his car, contacted his managers, determined what he would offer, and then returned and presented his offer. HIs offer was fair and agreed with what the liquidators had told us our belongings were worth. The difference was that Bill would pay us up front, take the belongings to his warehouse to prepare them for sale, and sell them from his stores. There would be no auction in our home, the public wouldn't be traipsing through our home, and everything would be gone in a day.
When the pick-up day arrived, a week later, Bill, and his 3 helpers showed up with two trucks at 9:30 AM or so and set to work. The first thing he did was hand us a check for the agreed on amount. He and his crew were polite, clean, efficient, respectful of us, our home, and the things they weren't taking. By 1:30 pm .the trucks were loaded.
We were also loading our car and a rental truck with the remaining belongings while Bill and company were loading. At one point both I and Ken, one of his crew, were in our garage, when Ken asked, as they were almost done loading their trucks if there was anything he could help me with. He then helped me load the flat screen TV and a large box of artwork.
This was a wonderful and profitable experience. Bill and his crew are gentlemen.

This is a used furnishings store and some items are truly amazing. I was lucky enough to have been given the name of the business by a friend of mine. The furnishings can move very fast as the secret is out! I was very lucky to have found Lexington furnishings - a cocktail table, end table, credenza and a 6 piece dining room set in a beautiful pecan finish. I was told that they had just bought out the contents of a designer's home and these were some of the pieces.The furniture is absolutely gorgeous and these don't have a mark on them. They even have delivery service at modest charges.
Items can vary from day to day. Not everything is as high quality as what I found and it pays to stop in frequently as new items are always arriving. They also have another location in Washington, PA.
Everyone from Willie and Ann to the owner Bill were very pleasant to work with. I have become a loyal follower and will be frequenting the place often.

What a cool place! The used furniture they had last Friday varied from ornate fainting couches to handmade hobby furniture pieces. They acquire pieces from a variety of sources including estate sales, So there is a great range in style, quality... you never know what you'll find. There were some really beautiful pieces.I saw someone buy an office chair with 3 levers that looked very comfortable for $30. I bought an Stiffel floor lamp with the original lampshade (my guess- from the 60's) for $35. They have 3 very large rooms full of furniture. But it feels nicely spaced out, not at all overwhelming.
