This time was a different story. I spent more money this time but it was so worth it. I called the day before and was able to get in for the next night, which was great. As for hte massage, they have a special pillow that allows you lay on your belly! you lay flat and your belly sinks into this indented pillow, and this position allows the therapist to give a really good back and should rub and they have better access to all parts. This position also allows you to stay still! The first time, i was asked to switch positions several times and this interrupts the 'relaxation' part of the experience.
Jodi is the therapist designated to the prenatal massage and she was great. She was very upbeat and attentive to my needs. I told her my feet and ankles were the worst and she spent extra time there and gave them extra attention again at the end of the session. She brought me water mid-session, which was great.
My only complaint is that I should not have gone for the 90 minutes OR i should have told her to tell me when we were half way so I could use the bathroom. This was no fault of jodi's or the spas, as I requested the 90 minute that was listed on their website- BUT when I called to make the appt, they said they didn't offer one. When I got there, it was in the notes that I wanted the longer session so i chose to do it knowing how badly I wanted to be pampered! At 36 weeks pregnant and laying on your belly, 60 min is probably plenty. Perhaps if you're earlier on in your pregnancy, the 90 min is more feasible.
The staff was great and I look forward to going back for some post-partum pampering!
