It went very badly. They had my lawn mower for a week and did not update me on the progress of my repair. Then when it was finally returned to me, it was in worse shape than it was when I gave it to them. It was not working at all. When I told the company about it, they insinuated that it was my fault somehow and refused to take responsibility. Very poor service, extremely unprofessional. Do not hire this company.

They were great, came when they said they would, did what they said they'd do and came back and took the tractor back when the drive belt fell off again and waived delivery fee! Definitely recommend!

They picked up the mower on Friday July 26. Tuesday evening, July 30, I called and asked about it and was told it generally was taking about a week before it could be looked at.
I heard nothing from them until I emailed on Aug 8 and asked for a status. (I mentioned Angie's List.)
They called to say they replaced the battery to fix one of the problems. The other problem I asked them to try and fix involved uneven cutting; the right side didn't cut as evenly as the left side. He said they would look into that.
When completed, I was called and told that sometimes cleaning the deck helps and that they plugged one of my tires (I hadn't asked for this and didn't need it.) The tractor was cleaner than I got it, and it started up, but the right side is just as uneven as it was when they picked it up.
They charged 1.5 hours labor at $75/hour! The way I look at it, I paid over $100 for someone to put in a battery.
(The battery itself was about $50, which I don't know if its good or bad; and the pickup and delivery was $75.)
Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if Sears would come to my house and do more for the same or less.

They tried to get the mower to start while I was still there but were unable. After a few days they called and it was ready. I have used mower repair places before that would have my mower for months unless I called them to see if it was ready. Steel City is always quick and professional. I bought my last mower from them. They know their stuff and if something goes wrong they have all the warranty information and can take care of it for me.

The cost includes picking up and dropping off the tractor. I have never had a problem with them and I will continue to go to Steel City Mower and Plow.
