We bought an older house with a mix of external locks and keys.  The side-door lock did not function at all.  He was efficient, professional and did the work at the time we had set.  I recommend him highly.

He did a good job.  He knows his business.  He got my lock out when it was frozen and did a fine job.  The price was fine.

They were very prompt and they had a lot of different options. I will use this company in the future.

 

2The front door handle was not able to be easily depressed and opened.  The locksmith showed up on time and within 30 minutes had my door working like new.  Without asking, he also fixed the deadbolt and it is also working like new.

I initially setup an appointment on a Monday to have my front door, back door, and basement door rekeyed and get a mail slot installed that Friday at 2PM. I called a few minutes after the appointment time (as my cell phone service in my house was awful), and was informed the locksmith would be about an hour late (not a big problem). The locksmith arrived (in his SUV with a nifty looking ceramic squirrel holding a key on top) about an hour and a half later, but despite the request for the mail slot, the locksmith didn't have an interior sleeve for the mailslot and didn't want to install just a front mail slot without a sleeve. As I badly needed the mail slot, I wasn't too happy but offered to source a sleeve. After some discussion and searching for a 7" wide sleeve, he agreed later that I if I could procure a slot & sleeve he would install during his visit, so I ran to Lowes and snagged a new slot & sleeve. I returned within 30 minutes as he was finishing up the locks, and he installed the mail-slot. As he was in a rush to finish up the day, he didn't clean up the mess of sawdust/insulation left on the floor, which I had to later sweep up (some of it was caught in the recently refinished hardwood floors, leaving a bit of an odd stain I've had trouble removing). Overall, he came on the day he said he would, did what I asked at a reasonable price. Still, he wasn't exactly the most personable service guy I've dealt with, he was almost 2 hours late, he didn't clean up his mess of sawdust/etc.., and it took some convincing to get him to install a mail slot that wasn't his own. If I was in a bind and needed a locksmith, I'd call again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to work with them.

Calling Sq Hill Locksmith, the woman was extremely friendly, professional, and polite. She scheduled Naum to come out the following day. She asked that I call her back to detail how many doors there were and how many keys there were for those doors. I did so. Naum arrived about a half-hour late for the scheduled appointment, but he was quite friendly and professional. He worked quickly and efficiently for about 2 hours. He reported that he would need to return the next day because he did not have with him all the equipment he needed. (I am not sure whether this was due to my reporting inaccurately what we needed or whether I did report this accurately and it was not communicated to him.) Either way, he returned the next day when he said he would and finished the work. He made some helpful suggestions while he was at the house and keyed all the locks to use one key, which we requested.

I caught the worker in two mathematical errors. When I called this to his attention he got huffy. He also did not give me any additional keys. hen I asked him, he said that I would have to come to the store. I told him that I don't drive and he said "Well, that's your fault isn't it"? Then I asked him if he would take one of the keys, make the copies, and then mail them to me. He replied, "Well I guess I could do that".

Naum (?spelling) was professional and knowledgeable. His workmanship is excellent. He kept his appointment time within 10 minutes. He needed to return a second time after ordering a part.

On time, excellent service, neat, reasonable.

They did a terrible job! Within one month the screen was popping out of the frame. They also butchered the frame when they took the screen out, and repainted it horribly. When I spoke to them about fixing it they refused to do so without my paying. They said it must be my fault, or my pet's fault, and that no one, in 25 years of service, had ever complained about this problem. They got very angry when I tried to insist that the work was shoddy.

Prompt, on time repair. Easy cylinder change. Returned next day to repair door because he needed another tool. All work went well, and no issues. Price seemed fair.

The lock that they fixed was original to our house which was built in 1892. One of the keys was not turning very well and he made a whole new set keys for free.

They are a friendly Mom and Pop local business that has good prices. I have returned several times for various small plumbing parts since then, and will happily go back to them again

I visited several chain stores with key cutters to try to have this key made and none of them could get the key cut to the right specifications. Every time I would take it home the key would go in but would not unlock the door. I finally decided to take it to an independent and Squirrel Hill Locksmith got it right.

The locksmith worked very efficiently. He was polite, although a bit terse.

THE LOCKSMITHS RESPONDED PROMPTLY, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT AN EMERGENCY. THEY WERE FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, FAIR (IN PRICE), AND DID GREAT WORK. I BELIEVE THIS COMPANY IS FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED -- AND THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

THEY ARE ALSO COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. IF THEY CANNOT DO A JOB, THEY LET YOU KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THEY ARE VERY UPFRONT.
