We just received a new washer and dryer and learned that our dryer outlet didn't match the new plug. I called them early on Friday, but was told that they didn't have anyone available until the following Monday, even though I explained that I was requesting emergency service (so much for the 24/7 service). I explained in detail that I needed my dryer outlet replaced. The Representative said that she could have someone come by on Monday to give an estimate. I told her that I didn't want an estimate, I wanted the job done that day and that the electrician should come to replace the outlet. When the Electrician arrived, she had not been told the particulars of the job, did not have the outlet and had to go to Home Depot to pick one up. The Electrician herself was good and no complaints there, but I was charged extra for the trip to Home Depot and paid more than $500 for a simple outlet replacement. I think I was overcharged and missed a half a day of work. I won't use this Company again.
Response from South Hills Electric LLC Heating & Cooling
"Good afternoon, I am sorry you were dissatisfied with the price and felt the need to give South Hills Electric an F rating. Here at South Hills, we use a standard pricing structure much like most of the industry. We take pride here at South Hills Electric in being one of the best in the business. We consider our company the middle of the road with pricing. We are not the cheapest but we are certainly not the most expensive. All of our employees are drug tested, background checked, uniformed and go through weekly, continued education courses. All of our customer service work is documented with pictures, videos, and notes which is available to our customers, obtainable through our website at any time. There are many things that go into the price provided. Some of which are health insurance, life insurance, company vehicles, gas card, upkeep of company vehicles, company cell phones and I pads, uniforms and upkeep of uniforms, the proper tools and the education and ability to perform the task properly the first time. In addition, there are internal costs such as office personnel, office supplies, licensing, permits, rent/mortgage, utility bills, phone bills, etc. I empathize with how you feel, and it is very frustrating with how the cost of everything in our day to day lives increases, but here at South Hills we aim to give the best possible service with the best possible staff and equipment and be available to our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and unfortunately that sometimes comes with a price that is not always agreed with. We hope to have you as a customer in the future and provide you with the best possible service from South Hills Electric Heating and Cooling."

After a little bit of checking and line tracing we discovered the issue was a faulty light switch. Actually because the way the lights were wired, had to replace two switches (upstairs and downstairs).

Removed covers on boiler, said it was too old "a museum piece" and he was afraid to work on it, might break old components. Started sell mode, new boiler for $7400, new Mitsubishi full home system for $25,800.

The service went fine, but it cost $220 to replace a capacitor which is a fairly cheap part and takes <5 minutes to install

The South Hills technician told me that the heat exchanger on my furnace was cracked, that turning the furnace on would be a safety hazard, and that I should replace the whole furnace before the heating season. I have since had another company come out to inspect the furnace. That technician told me that he saw no evidence that the heat exchanger was cracked and that the furnace did not need replacing at this time.
Response from South Hills Electric LLC Heating & Cooling
"Hi Faith, The technician told you there are areas of concern because your unit is 25 years old and has rust on parts of the heat exchanger. There is no way for us to know when that rust is going to become a hole or a crack."

Very well. The electrician could run the wire and place the outlet exactly where I wanted it, even though it was a tight spot.

There was actually nothing wrong with the outlet but he did review other potential issues. Initially the charge we felt was much more than we expected. We called and they did correct the issue very quickly and professionally.

Diane in the office was wonderful to deal with; I called a number of times to discuss what was happening and she was always pleasant and helpful. The tech, Eric, explained everything to the buyer resulting in there being no remaining issues. Eric's knowledge and professionalism were excellent.

Scheduling was easy. The office manager kept sending me quotes that didn't belong to me. That was a minor annoyance. The window for the installation was 1-4. He showed up at 4pm. Was here till 5pm. I thought he was going to be here a little after 1. Once he got here things went smooth. South hills has some work to do in the office.

He was very thorough, it took a long time and he said everything was fine. My problem is that less than two weeks later the furnace stopped working, it wouldn't come on and they wanted to charge me for a service call which I did not think was fair.
Response from South Hills Electric LLC Heating & Cooling
"Hi [Member Name Removed], I am sorry for any confusion. If there was an issue that the technician should have caught or that he caused when he was there 2 weeks prior the service charge would have been waived. Thank you Donna"
