Simon Electric

Just had an excellent electrician replace the electric main service box in our older Dormont home! What a GREAT job he did and at a really great price! Total professional all the way! I tell anyone out there that EVER needs a GREAT electrician to look no further than Dave Simon (Simon Electric) from Greentree!

He took out and put in the new fixture within an hour, and it is perfect. His work is clean and he explained exactly how the new led fixture works. He and his assistant Mark are fun, efficient and friendly taking time to answer all my questions and look at work I hope to do in the future.

Called on a Sat. morning and had my call returned within 2 hours. Explained what was wrong and David and Mark came first thing Mon. am.  David assessed what was needed and while he went for parts Mark got everything ready for the work explaining what he was doing.  When David returned both went to work and got the job done quickly.  David involved me in the decisions and explained the work being done.  Very nice gentlemen!

It worked out well.  They were very good.  They were very courteous and prompt.  They did the work very nice.  There were really no problems and quality was very good.  There were here right on time.

Dave's team did a great job. Dave was punctual both in showing up for the estimate and for doing the work itself. They did a great job both inside and out and did the work quickly and efficiently, and all for the right price. My only concern was that one of his crew was quite surly and argumentative. Dave and his other crew member were not; they are very professional. I would have no problem hiring Dave again for any electrical work.

Scheduled the job for a few days after we talked. Price was excellent. He doesn't pad the price so there's no freebies, you pay for the work he does, which is as it should be. Dave and his helper were on-time, very neat and clean, a real pro. He does things the right way, no shortcuts, no cheap materials. I have experience in electrical equipment design and construction and so know good work when I see it. When I need electrical work in the future I'm calling Dave.

When he intalled the service and elecrical panel, he was supposed to identify each breaker to what each one controlled. This was part of the agreement from the begining. I called to have him come back to show us this. He said it would take him four hours to do this. He first refused to come out. Then he said he would give us an hour, but ultimately did not come out to complete the job. He also did not clean up well after the work that was performed.

They were very prompt, efficient, and neat.

Work went very well. Dave was punctual and responsive. Original estimate was $1,200 for the upgrade. Charged $75 for the GFI outlet. Also needed to pay $70 for the inspector.

They were great. He was fare with the price and they came up with problems but would try other things to figure it out and stayed with the same price. The guy was pleasant and friendly.

I called and left a message and Dave called back the same day. He was polite, discussed an approximate price, noting that it depended on the ability to hang the light securely. He tried to fit me in as soon as possible and had to check to make sure one of his assistants was available. He called back within the time frame he said he would. He showed up for work promptly, showed me certain aspects of the work and the fan motors so that I would understand the job. He spent almost 3 hours and did a great job. He charged me $10 more per fan/light kit than he quoted because the job was more involved. One of the light kits was defective. Dave figured out what was wrong, explained it to me; I got a new light kit and Dave came back promptly, quickly installed the new light kit and did not charge me extra since it was part of the original job (although he had to come back). That second day, he arrived at the house early; I went out to get the paper and he said he would not knock at the door until the scheduled time. He was polite, considerate, and quite fair. I would use him again.

I had him there to fix my doorbell and while he was there he discovered that my electrical line was frayed. So I had him fix that right away. He did a good job on the electric.

As an experienced real estate investor, I'm always looking for reputable, reliable, punctual and FAIR contractors. I have had every sort of experience possible with contractors. I would tell anyone to hire Dave Simon to do their repairs. He's honest, knowledgeable and with reasonable prices. Trust me, I know the difference. I prefer to work with Independent contractors and Dave is my favorite. Big Ads in the yellow pages and big businesses will ALWAYS charge you more! Honest, reliable people are hard to come by these days and that's why I joined Angie's list.
