Sestili Nursery

Very well. Soil of good quality.

They did a great job on both the hardscaping (wall, steps, landing, walkway), as well as landscaping the back yard to tie everything together. We had a very specific layout for the walkway, and Pat was able to find the right mix of paver shapes to make it happen. Pat and his team kept me updated regularly so I could bring in the other contractors when ready (such as installing HVAC conduit and fence post holes behind the retaining wall before back filling). Overall, a very successful project, and I would use Sestili Nursery again on future projects.

I ordered some cubic yards of soil and discussed the order with the Sestili Nursery on the phone. They brought the soil at the day I had requested and at the time I had requested. The driver was helpful, friendly, competent, skillful, and patient. There was an error in the bill, I mentioned it to the driver and the nursery called me before the day was over to let me know that they had corrected the bill and then sent me the corrected bill. Old-fashioned orderliness, decency, professionalism such a rare treat these days!

THE OWNER, PATRICK, DID THE JOB HIMSELF.  HE WAS AMAZING AND DID THE BEST JOB.  MY BACKYARD LOOKS WONDERFUL!

I was originally going to buy top soil but after talking with the staff at Sestili, they recommended that I use compost.  My back yard was a rock yard originally.  They had put down the weed tarp and then piled rocks on top of it.  I removed the rocks and tarp and found that the dirt underneath was not very healthy.  I was going to just throw top soil on it, but instead was told that compost would work a lot better.
They were absolutely correct.  Mixing the compost in with my existing dirt brought it back to life.  It was cheaper and worked really well.  The lawn started showing little hairs with in 2 weeks.  A couple weeks after that and I was mowing my lawn.

Excellent company.  I would recommend them to anyone.

I contacted them on the phone to come out and provide an estimate for a retaining wall. The man assured me someone would be out the following week and would call ahead of time. Never came... never called. Honesty is still the best policy. Don't tell me you'll be out if you have no intention of coming out.

Things took a while to get started, although we were not under a significant time table. I had to call a couple of times to get things started for an estimate. Ron did a very thorough job and suggested good native plantings (rhododendron, vibernum, sedge, oak, yew). He stopped by several times during the work to see how things were going. Once things started, Pat and co-worker worked long and hard, often coming on Saturday over the time of the work. They spent a lot of time initially making sure that the drainage would be correct for the property, and had to build up the rear quite a bit. They were meticulous in their work, and cleaned up as they went. They did a couple of extra things not in the contract, just because they needed to be done. We are extremely pleased with the outcome, and expect to have them back later to work on the front of the house.

They do cutting every week, clean up, and planting for me.  Ron is the owner and he is very hands on.

It was a rather disappointing experience we had with Sestili Nursery. The person who came out was very nice. He had some suggestions and we had agreed that he will get back with a plan. After a long delay and several reminders, he showed up. When we asked for some modifications in the plan, again there was a long, long gap for him to get back. We went to their office to pick up the plan and we realized that there was one final design step that was never incorporated. So, we were quite disappointed. The delays seemed rather long. The person we dealt with was nice but very unresponsive, at least with emails. We just talked about ball park figures; we never got down to the exact estimate. We were also thinking about installing an automatic water sprinkling system but that turned out to be quite expensive. So, the work was mainly just removing what was there and then re-planting. We have absolutely given up on Sestili Nursery; I don’t plan to contact them for estimates in the future.

Everything was very fine. I found most people over priced not just them, so we did the work our self. They did a fine job, but just were too expensive.

Overall, it was an excellent experience. I was greeted, allowed to browse, and later asked questions which were answered well and professionally. I would return.

It took a little while to hear back from them, but when I did they explained that they were very busy -- I called in April. The job was bid, and after a little back and forth via email, we settled on exactly what we wanted to do. It turned out better than we pictured it would -- it is now a maintenance-free yard and it looks terrific. The workers were all very polite and professional.

Left messages for three weeks. Never received a return call.

I have not had positive experiences with Sestili. They never returned my calls about landscaping & they never ordered the plants I wanted special-ordered. When I called back about the plants both times, no one seemed to be able to find the order. I don't find that their plants are better quality than many local competitors, though they do have a larger selection than some. I've also found it hard to find salespeople to provide more information about the plants.

WENT TO SESTILI WITH AN IDEA IN MIND AND THEY SPENT THE TIME TO HELP ME CHOOSE THE PLANTS AND ENSURE I HAD AN APPROPRIATE ARRANGEMENT. I GOT NICE 8' PINES AND A NUMBER OF OTHER PLANTS, AS WELL AS MULCH AND COMPOST, AND THEY WERE AMAZING WITH THEIR WILLINGNESS TO WORK WITH ME. THEIR DELIVERY SERVICE IS ALSO A BIG BONUS, AS THEY DELIVERED THE PLANTS TO THE SITE AND NOT JUST TO THE CURB. WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. I DID THE PLANTING MYSELF, BUT THEY HELPED MAKE SURE I KNEW WHAT TO DO. ALSO, THEY TOOK 20% OFF THE TOTAL TICKET JUST BECAUSE I WAS BUYING SO MUCH.

WE ALWAYS GO TO SESTILI NURSERY FOR PLANTS AND ADVICE. IT'S GREAT TO TALK WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING, AND WE LIKE TO SUPPORT A LOCAL COMPANY INSTEAD OF THOSE BIG-BOX NATIONAL HOME IMPROVEMENT CENTERS. IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE, WE HAD SESTILI DELIVER TOPSOIL FOR OUR GARDEN. THEY HAD LOTS OF CHOICES ABOUT MIX-INS SUCH AS FERTILIZER AND SUCH. THEY ARRIVED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND TOOK THEIR TIME DUMPING THE DIRT SO THAT MOST OF IT WENT INTO THE RAISED BEDS WE HAD BUILT (I WAS EXPECTING THEM TO DUMP IT ALL ON THE DRIVEWAY SO THAT WE'D HAVE TO PUT IT IN THE RAISED BEDS SHOVELFUL BY SHOVELFUL, BUT THEY BACKED UP THE TRUCK AND SLOWLY DUMPED THE DIRT, SPLITTING IT BETWEEN THE TWO BEDS).
