Salon Bella Mia

Melissa is excellent!! I would recommend her to anyone. I was nervous to try a new hair stylist and had been going to very expensive salons for several years (overpriced and spent hours in the salon). I went to Melissa based on recommendations I read on Angie's List to try someone new and was pleasantly surprised. Melissa is great at what she does, always is promt and gets me in and out efficiently and is accomodating with scheduling appointments.

She is the best hair stylist I've ever had. I'll never let anyone else cut my hair.

I picked this salon because, after doing some online research, I discovered there was a stylist there that had been highly regarded by many doing online reviews of other salons. His former clients had followed him and written about it online. I figured if people are willing to hunt down their stylist and follow him to a new place of employment, he MUST be good. And, I wanted someone who was that good.

I called the salon a few times only to get a recording to leave a message. After hanging up a number of times without leaving a message, I received a call back shortly afterward to set up an appt (apparently, they are currently without a receptionist). I was able to get an appt the next day for a cut. There is free parking available behind the salon, which is a bonus. Upon walking in, I was greeted by one of the women doing a manicure and asked to make myself comfortable while Robbert, my stylist, was finishing up with his client. I sat on the very comfortable sofa and read a bit of the many magazines/books they had available. After he was done with his client, he came up to me with a welcoming smile, looked me in the eye, and greeted me with a handshake. We spent some time in the chair just discussing my general hair care, my styling needs, and my goals. It was obvious that he was listening to me and, as a result, he gave me a perfect cut. We had discussed my hair color, which I wasn't really happy with. I have been wanting to add different colors to my hair, but other hairdressers said I probably wouldn't be able to do it due to having my hair already colored. He assured me that he could do it. I didn't really believe him, but figured it was worth the try if he really wanted to waste his time. So, I set an appt for a week later to do it.

Last night was the color, and I have to say, I am AMAZED that he was able to do what no one else could do! I have awesome color in my hair, and not only is it exactly what I wanted, but it is FABULOUS!!! Robbert is fantastic with hair. He KNOWS his stuff. And I think so much of what he does is not just in the art, but a result of listening to his client. He is easy with conversation and has an incredibly friendly demeanor about him. But above all else, this guy KNOWS HAIR!!!

I feel so lucky to have found Robbert, and am so pleased with my hair color and cut. You can count me among those who will follow him wherever he may go!
