We agreed upon the scope of the project, price and estimated start of the project within a visit or two (I also gave a deposit then).
When the project started I had already been contacted several times with updates on the estimated start date and how long to expect it to continue. They arrived on time and had the area cleaned and sectioned off when they left. The crew was friendly also taking the time to make sure my dog knew they were the good guys (bonus points for that) so the neighbors and I did not have to listen to him barking the entire day when they were there.
When they were onsite working I also added another project to the scope which I wasn't going to do that they were able to add without causing much of a delay or coming back at a later date.
This was one of the best experiences I've had with any work done at my house and I've already come up with a few more projects at my house and houses for other family members. If they need any cement work done I'm quick to volunteer his contact information. :-)
All was well until my roommate noticed two cracks in the concrete in July. I immediately called Coccaro to let him know and see if he could come and repair them. In my opinion if you spend 2.5K on a project you should be able to enjoy it for more than 3 months before issues creep up. Coccaro never responded to my voicemail. After leaving 2 more messages I decided to give him a deadline. I emailed him In October and and asked respond by November 2nd if he wanted this matter resolved outside the court system. He responded a day before my deadline with an email that stated he was sorry for blowing me off but that he has been busy. He said cracked concrete can happen but that since we paid hard earned money and he was willing to repair the cracked sections free of charge in exchange for removing a bad review I posted online and by giving him a good review on Angies list. With the winter pretty much upon us, he had no time to do it before 2012. In the spring I called Bob's cellphone and he scheduled me for April 23rd - 25th. That date came and left with no word from Bob. Since then he has ignored my calls.
Beware of doing business with this guy. You get what you pay for, his work is shoddy and he doesn't stand behind it. Pictures attached.
I have pretty muched described the story up above. I intially contacted 10 different concrete companies for estimates. I
received responses from 5 of them. RG Coccaro had done work for us before. I was extremely pleased with their previous work for us- but I wanted to be cautious. This was an extremely large job as well as expensive job, and I had SPECIFIC requests and demands that I wanted to be incorporated. After speaking to all 5 companies- I again decided to go with RG Coccaro Company. They had the lowest estimate by about $2,000.00. I was familar with the QUALITY of their work. I trusted their employees in my home. We set a date to begin- they arrived ready to work. I was even able to go on a vacation to Florida- while they were doing the work:) I was in contact by phone. We had a few unexpected surprises- like a gas line that was not where we expected it to be- and whoops. They Immediately handled and repaired any and all damage this caused. When you are working with older homes their are always surprises. Concrete work is difficult because you are at the mercy of the weather. But they showed up everyday. Gave me 120% and then some:):):) The job was completed above and beyound my expectations. We were definitely treated like family. I have delt with many contractors- never have I met such a reliable and trustworthy person as Bob Coccaro. I would call them again for any future concrete work that I may need. I will and have reccomended them to family and friends. I welcome anyone who is considering work to drive by my home and take a look for yourself.Sincerely,
Lucinda Wetzel/ Wolff
