John came right out when I called on 7/20/16 and gave me a written estimate. Said he would be in touch in a week. I called 10 days later and John eventually called me back. Said he was busy that week but would be able to schedule me in 7 to 10 days. I waited 2 weeks, then 3 weeks more and never a call back. I left him a message on Angie's List and still never a call back. Don't know why he ever called back in the first place. He's clearly not interested in doing the work he said he would do and too rude to admit it.

They did a decent job but I had a few things I wanted to be addressed. Like leaving old wood behind my shed and adjusting some bricks.  I called and left a few messages and he never called back.

Tried calling him to tell him I wanted him to do the job. Left 3 messages before he called back. Said he would start the next week and would call me on Monday. Never heard from him again. I even told him my wife knew him when they were children. Still didn't make a difference. I would NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYBODY.

ok at first... then last month the retaining wall started to lean.. I have called twice so see if this could be fixed....no responses. The deadman posts are pulling away from the hillside. there is a fence attached the wall, however the old wall held the fence just fine, until the wall rotted, but it was over 20 yrs old.
I really didn't want to post this negative review, but because I have not heard a response after a month I just assume I am being ignored.

Great experience! I called several contractors last fall to get bids for this job that I wanted to have done in the spring. John responded to my call and gave me a very reasonable quote. He readily gave me several addresses to drive by and see some of the walls he installed. When I called him five months later - he remembered the job description and said he would be able to do the work. Because of the harsh winter and very rainy spring - his jobs got a little backed up which is understandable - but well worth the wait. His crew started on 5/16 and took about three days to complete without incident (in between a couple of rain delays). His crew is very friendly, courteous and have good work skills. They were always happy and seemed to enjoy their work. The finished product is great and they cleaned up thoroughly. I am having him return to install stairs and a walkway from my carport to my house and will post a review when that work is completed. I highly recommend this company and will definitely keep them on the top of my list for work around the house.

Promised to start working on the wall five times and work was to start on Monday. That Monday never came. He was hard to contact as he would ignore my telephone calls finally returning them. He had his crew out once to look at the job.He now totally ignores my telephone calls. He isn't very profesional and I would never recomend him to anyone. The closest estimate I have received so far was $9,750, $2, 500 more than he quoted me.

We had used him in the past when we owned another house. We used him this time because he specialized in railroad ties and everybody else was trying to sell us the versa lok stone, which was twice the price. This was our second time. He's just a good guy to work with. He returns calls because a lot of the contractors for the retaining walls didn't even return calls.

Great. The provider was very low-key and no frills about what we wanted done. After getting quotes from other providers, his was the lowest. I contacted him about the job and he scheduled a time. He called a week earlier or so and said he had a job that was cancelled and could they come out earlier. They did a great job, cleaned up and hauled all of the rotten timbers away. He also tore and hauled away a large bench/planter for a nominal fee, which was outside the original project scope. Highly recommended!
