The engineer Bob came out to our house and performed an inspection of the exterior and interior of our house to detect any structural issues and to make recommendations on what improvements we can make. He arrived on time, was courteous in answering our numerous questions, suggested things such as adding sister joists to floors and the roof, and confirmed which walls were load-bearing for future remodeling. We accepted a verbal report for $400, but a written report is available for a little more money.

Bob Mason provided structural assessment and visual observation details on a foundation wall. He promptly showed up for the scheduled appointment. While still in the house’s basement, Bob phoned to relay his findings. It was then that he discussed ways to remedy the problem, Within hours, Bob emailed a written report. He is very easy to talk to and answered all my questions. Professional, experienced, and knowledgeable. Would definitely use again!

Bob not only did a great job providing an inspection report for the property I am purchasing, but he also had an excellent attitude when there were problems getting into the lock box for the house. As he was going through his inspection to look at how much various walls were bowing in the basement, he told me what he was doing each step and also showed me how I can monitor for any additional movement by measuring at different points on the walls. Not only do I feel confident in the inspection he provided, but I learned a lot and feel better informed as a homeowner.

The report was generated in a quick manner which was nice. In three different areas and even in a typed email it was stated there was a photo log enclosed or sent to me. I asked about it and was told that was not the case. I texted the engineer and said if it isn’t included then you should not make mention of it three times and have it as a deliverable in my receipt. He had the balls to call me and ask if that’s how I texted everyone. So if you want some attitude with your report and no pictures use these guys. I wasn’t being rude I was making mention of an issue. If I have a plumber charge me for pipes and he didn’t install any pipes I’m going to question it.

I'm working on a large project in the Pittsburgh area. The building was previously condemned despite being in good condition. In order to remove the condemnation, the city wanted a report from an engineer to verify that it was safe to occupy. Bob came to the site when he said he would and took his time walking throughout the entire structure. He was able to offer insight on how the building was constructed and advice on things we could do to reduce our construction and maintenance costs (which was WAY outside of the scope of work I was paying for). I was extremely pleased with his work. Many engineers & architects come across as dry and dare I say arrogant. Bob was easy going and polite. A breathe of fresh air in that line of work. I would definitely use Bob again and would recommend him to friends or family.

I contacted Mr. Mason after I was having some issues with glass block being installed in my house as the installer thought my red brick wall was bowed and a crack in the foundation. Mr. Mason was able to make an appointment the same week and he showed up actually on time (something most people do not). He was very professional and answered all my of my questions and concerns. He took numerous pictures and explained everything in great detail. I purchased the detailed written report as I would recommend that to anyone seeking out his services as I’m not an engineer and explaining to contractors and others what he was talking about I’m sure I would of misspoke. Within 48 hours I received a 4 page report outlining everything I needed to have fixed before moving forward with anymore home improvement projects. The peace of mind Mr. Mason provides and his recommendations are well worth the money! Can’t thank him enough!
