Perf-A-Lawn

They've been very good and are very reasonable. We paid up front for the whole year and they gave a great discount. We've been pleased.

Representative came to my home, surveyed my yard and stated they would be able to control and rid my property of any weeds. I already had a company handling the weed control but I received a notice in the mail and a better price from Perf-a-lawn. My yard did not have a lot of weeds but the first application was fine and effective. I kept having the yard sprayed though I did notice during the season that the weeds did not seem to die after the later application. I noticed a variety of weed I did not have before. At the next application I brought the weeds to the attention of the employee spraying and he indicated this would take care of them. The season ended with more weeds than when I began. The following season I took pictures of the weeds and how they have spread. I was assured the product would handle these weeds. I was guaranteed the application would be effective and if it was not, they would return and another application without charge would be applied. When I called to request a reapplication, I was told to give it another couple of weeks. I was constantly stalled until it was now time for the next paid for application. I brought the weeds to the attention of the representative spraying them and he said this would take care of them. Again, it did not. Several calls were made and it was just more of the same. The weeds became worse and my yard appeared to have more weeds than yards in my plan that did not have a weed service. I phoned Perf-a-lawn and indicated I was disappointed in the service and they were not honoring their follow up, instead, they kept coming for the "next" application. I asked that they stop the "next" application until the prior application took effect. This was disastrous. I would not recommend Perf-a-lawn.

Prepaid for service for 2011 and 2012 and received service.  In 2011, paid for aeration, which they never showed up for.  After calling them, it was determined that they did a neighbors yard instead.  They did complete the aeration service in 2012.  In 2013 I decided to go with a different company for a better price so I did not prepay their bill sent in the Fall as in previous years.  In the Spring of 2013 they applied 2 services before I realized it.  When I called them to stop the service, I did not realize these companies continue to charge year after year (for your convenience, right!) and make you call to stop it, which they informed me in a rather not so customer friendly way.  I originally decided not to pay because I was not happy with the way they handled it, but they kept pursuing with collection agencies to get their $90.  I did finally decide to pay, but would not recommend this company, there are many other choices out there.

Their price was right, but we weren't thrilled with them. I guess you get what you pay for. I had paid in advance at the beginning of the service, and their price was better than other companies. They came out and did a soil sample for us the year before. They didn't give us results of the soil sample, and we asked them to do it again last year, because we have mold, but we had to pester them to give us the results. There wasn't a need to be punctual, they just came whenever the weather permitted. The guys were very professional.

They are the most affordable option by far. If you ever don't like how things look, call them and they will quickly come out and re-spray if needed.

I agreed to a contract with Perf-a-lawn in spring 2013 for their 6 step process.  I told them that the ONLY thing I care about is getting rid of the crabgrass.  They told me that they would guarantee that they would fix the crabgrass problem. They never fixed the crabgrass issue and called me in September 2013 and told me that THEY WERE DROPPING ME as a customer because I was calling them too much.

I went so far to help eliminate the crab grass issue that I paid to have the crab grass prevention done on my next door neighbor's lawn at the instruction of Perf-a- lawn. 

I had one Perf-a-lawn employee put down an application at a house across the street and 3 doors away.  When I talked to him, he said that he must have written down the wrong address. I also had Perf-a-lawn managers come to the house and tell me that they would have their route personnel fix an issue the next time they were in the area.  The route guys would  forget to fix the issue or do something altogether different.

If you decide to use Perf-a-lawn, good luck on making sure that what they tell you they will do actually happens.

It has been good experience so far. It is good pricing. The lawn did well. We are switching to another company, not because they were not good but because we got better rates elsewhere.

They came twice so far this summer - they call ahead to warn us when they will spray the lawn and leave a flag up as a precaution when they complete it. I noticed the colover and dandelions decrease a bit after the first application and nearly gone after the 2nd application. For what they charge you can't do it yourself for cheaper - amazing results for amazing price and great customer service!

They were the most responsive; and also had a good rate. I liked that they use organic products!

We used Perf-A-Lawn last summer for five weed-killing and fertilizing treatments and were satisfied with their service. So this year we prepaid with a discount to renew the service for five treatments. The quality of the service this year was not as good as last year. For example, one time they came when it was raining so we had to have them come back to respray. After the fourth treatment , I called them because within two weeks, the lawn was completely dead and there were weeds growing all over the lawn. Before they ever came out to look at it, they sprayed again, but none of the weeds in our dead lawn died following that treatment. I called and someone was supposed to come out and look at the lawn within a few days and get back to us. I even called back and left a message. After two weeks of not hearing, we called another service to have a new front lawn put in.
Yesterday, a new lawn was put in by another company. It is readily apparent that a new lawn has been seeded. Imagine my surprise when I went to get the mail today and found a Perf-A-Lawn invoice (we were not charged) indicating that they had sprayed for weeds. What was even more surprising was it was raining when they sprayed. I called the company and learned that they only sprayed the back yard - thankfully, the newly seeded lawn had not been sprayed. I also learned that had us scheduled to have the lawn aerated and reseeded. No one ever told us any of this, so we went to the expense of having a new lawn put in when perhaps it was unnecessary.

Lawn appearance gradually decreased. Company fertilized the lawn when it was covered with leaves and wanted paid for it.

They do a great job. The lawn looks great, very green, and has no weeds.

They are good and always on time.

I have only used them twice. The experience has been satisfactory so far, but they are relatively new.

Initial visits were unannounced, with sign on stick or doorknob, briefly defining what had been performed. Had to call several times to appeal for forewarning of visits, advice on lawn matters, or clarification of their procedures, i.e. what they were about. So they did respond with phone calls announcing their visits and purpose. Their applications did reduce low-growth greenery beneath the grass, but not moss, which they advised late in the fall required lime. Their visit applications were seen to be typically very brief, with equipment to scatter applications in record time; often gone before I could get outside to talk. Although they blamed a hotter-than-normal fall, the lawn now appears worse than before they were hired. Phoning to inform of aeration today, they didn't come while we were out. Do they need another season's fees for any improvement, or am I misreading their efforts? Also, as my lawn is smaller than their minimum fees, I pay as much as one up to twice its size.

Service personnel applied the fertilizer in a uniform fashion. No areas of the lawn were missed. Service personnel were friendly and willing to answer questions.
