Paul's Clock Repair is a family run business. Lisa, the daughter, took all of my information in a very friendly and professional manner. She explained the entire process and quoted a price before I made the appointment. We arranged a mutually agreeable date and time and she said they would call the night before to confirm the appt., which they did. Judy, Paul's wife, arrived at my home on time the following day. Within a few minutes she located the problem and explained exactly what needed to be done. We agreed on the repairs I wanted to have performed. The entire process was handled thoroughly and professionally. When she left my grandfather clock looked brand new and was ticking away. I will definitely contact Paul's Clock Repair for future routine maintenance or repair and I highly recommend them as a thorough, professional repair service at very reasonable cost.

My grandfather clock had a broken set of chimes that needed to be replaced. Judy came and took the inside of the clock to the shop. She called back within the specified time and she and Paul delivered the clock today. It works perfectly. The chimes for the clock were so old that they were no longer sold so Paul found a replacement set in his shop and lowered the initial estimate. They also paid sales tax per their offer on Angie's List.
Description of Work: Repaired grandfather clock. Replaced broken chimes and leveled clock on carpet. Very responsive. Kept appointment times. Extremely professional and friendly. Would recommend to anyone.

I was given an old cuckoo clock from my father. The clock was in a sad state of disrepair, obviously not working. I called Paul's Clock Repair, and spoke with his daughter, Lisa, who told me to bring the clock. Upon my arrival, Lisa looked at all of the parts that I had boxed up, and discovered that I actually had parts to two different clocks, unbeknownst to me. I left my clock, not knowing whether it would be able to be repaired. Lisa called two weeks later to say that my clock was ready. When I saw my clock, I couldn't believe how good it looked...and it worked. The hands and bellows need replaced, for which there was no charge. Lisa took the time to explain how to hang my clock, how to wind it, how to set it (as to not throw off the cuckoo's setting)--she gave me a true education about my clock. I could tell that she has a true passion for clocks--she learned everything from watching and listening to her father while growing up. I'm very anxious and excited to hang my cuckoo clock, and I hope that my family and I can enjoy it for many years to come. I can highly recommend Paul's Clock Repair without any hesitation--they know and love their clocks!

We have been searching for a clock shop for quite sometime. Our clock is about 150 years old so we are very particular about who services it. We found Paul's Clock Repair on Angies List, so we called and set up an appointment. At the beginning of our appointment, we spent time getting to know Paul's background and training. We felt very comfortable with him, so we left our clock to be serviced. The clock was serviced and we picked it up two weeks later. Now our clock works like new. Paul is an amazing clock maker and we couldn't be more satisfied. We highly recommend Paul's Clock Repair.

I had three Emperor Grandfather clocks relocated to our home by Paul's Clock Repair. These were special clocks because they were built by my father. I set up the move on the phone with their daughter who was a pleasure to talk to and made the process stress-free. She said her father and mother (Paul & Judy) would be moving the clocks. Judy called the night before to confirm the time and place. They arrived promptly on time the next morning. Paul and Judy took their time packaging, moving and setting up each clock in our home. I would highly recommend Paul?s Clock Repair to anyone who needs to have their special grandfather clocks moved.

We were extremely pleased with Lisa's diagnosis of the problem by phone and even more so when issues were less serious and less expensive. Only qualms we had were following our GPS directions from Rt 28--took us on some very narrow back alley. Recommend approaching Straka St from US 19. We were obviouslly pleased enough to leave a second clock when we picked up the first one.
Description of Work: Our Seth Thomas Shelf clock was not functioning properly since our move from NJ and a return to our clock repairman there. Found Paul on Angie's list and the rest is all satisfaction!! Great diagnostic on the phone with Lisa and service completed as she estimated. Cost was less than we anticipated. Very happy to have our clock chiming again!!

Judy arrived right on time, went to work quickly, and was finished within the hour.
Description of Work: Judy came out and put our grandfather clock back together after a move. My husband's chiming wall clock hadn't been working, and she looked at it, tuned it and didn't charge us for that since it took so little time. They also pay the tax for Craigslist customers. In all, a pleasant and professional service and it's always great to have our clock working again!

As noted above, service was timely and beyond my expectation. Best part: I was only charged $149 for everything. That included a 10% discount that they offer to Angie's List members. I will be picking up my mother's grandfather clock from her home in a few weeks, and will definately contact Paul's for service on another piece with sentimental value. One thing to note, which I did not do: CALL before you take your clock. They operate out of their home, and although their ad lists hours of operation, it is best to call and set up a time to drop off your clock.
Description of Work: In the early 90's we bought a wall clock with a cherry wood case in the Black Forest in Germany - not terribly expensive but over the years it has come to have a great deal of sentimental value to us. Five years ago, one of my children tried to adjust the clock so that the chimes would not sound and disturb her sleep, TV watching, whatever. Not really knowing what she was doing, she accidently caused the clock to fall - the case and backing were separated and I figured the clock was damaged. I put it back in its original box, we moved to Pittsburgh, and the clock sat in a closet for five years because I never got around to looking up a clock repair shop. Saw Paul's advertised in the Angie's List magazine and decided to see if the clock could be repaired. I dropped the clock off at the house to see what could be done. A young woman wrote it up, and said the $149 was just for a tune-up, that repairing the case and the mechanism might cost more. That was understandable, especially since the clock had not run for nearly five years. I picked the clock up about two weeks later - case repaired, glass door repaired, and running perfectly. It still keeps time exactly - in fact, it runs better than it ever has except when it was brand new. Very, very pleased with the service.

Our Howard Miller had stopped ticking the week prior. We did a search on Angie's list and found Paul's Clock Repair. We were very impressed with the customer reports and decided to give Paul's company a call and arrange for a date and time. Judy came to the house at the scheduled date and time. She performed a tune up and the clock is now ticking happily away in our living room. We will definitely call Paul and Judy for the next tune up.

It took about an hour. She took the clock all apart, oiled it and put the chains back where they belonged. Then she discovered that the chimes were out of sync. She fixed that also, all for the quoted price. It's so nice to have the sounds of my clock, made by my Father in 1966, ringing through the house again. We were very pleased with the service. Thank You, Judy. Anna Mae Richards

I had the clock serviced at Paul's Clock Repair about 10 years ago. However, for this repair I could not remember where I had it serviced that time, so I looked up Clock repair on Angie's list and found Paul's Clock Repair was a highly rated repair service. Immediately when I made the turn onto Straka street I recognized that I found the same repair place! Paul's daughter answered the phone to make an appointment for me to drop off the clock. The hours for drop off were reasonable. I dropped the clock off and less than a week later it was finished. I am quite happy with the repair and the excellent service that I received. Paul's daughter was very knowledgeable of what was repaired on my clock and answered all of my questions. Paul is a Certified Master Clock Maker and lives up to the reputation that I had reviewed from other Angie List members. We are so pleased that we will be inviting Paul to our home to tune up our Grandfather Clock. Yes he makes house calls!!!
Description of Work: My Shaker wall clock stopped working. It is a pendulm based design. It is a wind up model that I built for my wife approximately 15 years ago. The key, when inserted into either of the wind up mechanisms would not turn and wind the clock so the clock did not work. I wanted the clock to function again. Paul replaced the gong mechanism in the clock, cleaned and oiled the remaining pieces. The clock now works and keeps great time. The repair was done well within the agreed to time. I dropped of and picked up the clock myself and received a discount since I mentioned Angie's List (they paid the sales tax).

We've had an inexpensive but unique decorative clock in our kitchen that fits a particular space. After the clock part failed (yes, replacing the battery didn't fix the problem!), we've been unable to find anything to replace it that we liked nearly as much. Today I called Paul's Clock Repair from Angie's list, and was able to get an appointment and directions this morning. I brought the clock to their place of business today (which is in a suburban neighborhood), and was able to wait less than 30 minutes for a repair. They were able to match the decorative clock arms & second hand by style and color. We'd taken the clock down months ago (I should have called them sooner!), but now the clock works great, and is back in its place. I can't believe I was able to get it fixed so easily, because we've tried to fix it on our own without success. Thanks for your great service!

My overall experience was very good. I was only planning on dropping off the clocks and then returning at a later date to pick them up. Having them repaired while I waited saved a trip from my home in Gibsonia to Paul's house in Crafton.
Description of Work: My mother had a small music box she purchased in 1971 while in Switzerland. She has down-sized from her house to an apartment and my daughter wanted this. It hasn't played in years. I thought the cause was that it had been wound to tightly. While looking at it I turned it upside-down and the flywheel began to turn and it slowly began to play. In addition to looking on Angie's List I searched the internet for someone to repair/clean this. Paul's Clock Repair repeatedly came up on every search with great reviews. I called and spoke to his daughter who said they would have to see it. I also had two clocks that have not worked in a long time and decided to take these with me. Long story short-the two clocks were repaired while I was there by Paul's daughter. I left the music box for Paul to determine if it can be repaired.

I brought in two turn-of-the-century clocks from my mother's estate for repair. I called first to make sure Paul's daughter would be home. The repairs were completed in less than two weeks and for less than the original quoted price! Paul also indicated the approximate age and value of the pieces. Lisa showed me how to wind the clocks and adjust the pendulums. An extremely positive experience in every way!

I brought the clock to their shop and ~2 weeks later it was repaired. The only negative I found, albeit very small, is their limited hours (only mornings) when you can bring clocks in for repair and when you can pickup your clock. Also, as they will tell you, you should call ahead to make sure someone is home to accept, or pickup, your clock .

Member; Thank you for the nice review on Angie's List. Sorry about not being open in the afternoons, but as you know, my daughter helps us out, and she is not available most afternoons. We try to make up for it by being on-time, and available to help our customers in any way we can. Thanks again, if there is anything we can do for you in the future, please let us know.
