John, the owner of Oxford Landscaping was extremely professional and courteous. The job he and his men did was exactly what he promised and it was done on schedule. Everything that was planted has done extremely well and continues to flourish.

From start to finish our experience with John and Oxford Landscaping was excellent. His pricing was very competitive, he showed us many different options to complete our work with a variety of pricing options. He was always punctual and always returned all of our calls. He took care of all permits required and guided us through every aspect of our project. The quality of our job is excellent and when some small items came up weeks after completion, John was there himself the day after we called to fix them. We have already referred Oxford to friends and our opinion is if you need a new driveway, walls or other landscaping, your first call should be to Oxford.

This was the last time we have allowed John to come. He has been Mom's lawn person for more than 2 years. Initially we were very pleased with the work. We had arbor vitaes replaced and the yard manicured. An area off of the patio was mulched and planted. However, as time passed, the trims to the yews and the arbor vitaes became almost topiary like and started to burn out in spots. A very poor quality of mulch was used with larger wood shards, spread very thinly. The replaced arbor vitaes died and were replaced, but were not put in the ground and the roots were not loosened up so that all the watering we did was for naught. These died too. John's man came every week to cut the lawn. We asked repeatedly to have the blades raised so as not to cut the grass too short. The blades were never raised leaving several burnt areas in the lawn. We also asked repeatedly that during this very dry summer not to cut if the grass hadn't grown. John's man said we had to call to cancel his service if we didn't want it that day. Let''s face it... if a lawn doesn't need cut, then don't cut it. On 8/20 John sent two men to "trim and neaten" they spent 4 hours on the property, did not add any mulch or other landscaping materials (either fertilizer or any other treatments) dumping clippings and debris over the hill of our property, and charged $624. I have since talked to other landscapers and the one I have now gone with charges $20 per man per hour and possibly a $50 dump fee. That would have amounted to $210. The plants would not have been sheared to the point of near death and would have done any planting needed correctly. They came highly recommended and I feel very lucky to have found them. John is a very nice man, but overcharges incredibly and has no ear for his clients' concerns.

Our yard was very overgrown and needed a lot of clearing out. John came out to view the project. He gave us two options: gut the property of all existing plants and start fresh or a more economical approach of clearing out some of the plants and regular maintainance. We chose the second option. The Oxford Landscaping team spent three days clearing the yard and adding some some mulch beds. They worked dilligently and were very courteous. They will be conducting regular maintenance on our property going forward. They did a great job!

Oxford was one of four landscapers from which I had requested bids, and its bid was in the middle of the range (bids ranged from $3,100 to $7,200). Oxford was the only one of the four to deliver its bid in person; the others simply mailed-in their bids with comparatively little detail of specifically what they planned. In delivering its bid in person, Oxford gave me a sketch of my yard (the only one to do so), showing what plants would go where, and gave me an opportunity to discuss the proposed project in more detail. In addition, Oxford was the only one of the four to offer good, innovative suggestions to address three problem areas in my yard.
The job was completed in 2 1/2 days, and I am very happy with the result. The work was done professionally, and the yard was cleaned-up nicely at the end of each day, and of course at the end.
I'd recommend Oxford Landscaping.
