Everything went well. Vickie and her helper worked together to help me. They came in and saw what needed to be done and they allowed me to choose where I wanted to start. We worked together depending on the task. For example, when going through my closets (because I had clothes everywhere despite the fact that I had two closets), Vickie went through one closet and the helper went through the other closet. On the flip side, I had a lot of beads and the helper understood that I just wanted all the beads put into containers. She was able to do that while Vickie and I worked in my bedroom. At the end of the session, Vickie took everything that needed to be donated and recycled with her. She sent the receipt of donation to me. At the end of the session, my place was beautiful.

I found Vickie & her assistant Lauren very helpful. They listened to me (overwhelmed!) & worked with me, literally, to make a big difference in the 4 hours we worked together. They provided the starting point & the inspiration to continue working by myself. When I got 'stuck', I used Organization Rules 3 more times. The strategy had Vickie & me sort while Lauren bagged (donations, trash). I had them come the day before garbage pickup so that was put out Also, they took donations that day, to the thrift store I choose. Those two things helped immensely. We accomplished a lot during the times we worked together. I was amazed at what we did!

Vickie really helped me make tough decisions about the clutter that I had let myself keep around for years. I tend to be sentimental and hold on to items that I don't need and Vickie was professional and kind as she helped me rid myself of many things that were just weighing me down. She was able to help me turn my crafting areas from clutter into a space in which I actually enjoy working. She had great tips for keeping myself clutter-free in the future and it has been working! I highly recommend Vickie!

Life saver! Fantastic experience. Vickie was compassionate, listened carefully to my requests and goals, came up with a do-able plan that would work for me and kept me on task. Professional, on time, great motivational attitude and truly respectful of my needs. Highly recommend!

TERRIBLE! First Vickie (owner) came to the house and charged me $150 for a "consultation" that basically told me nothing except she would send 2 people for 4 hour shifts and they would help me sort things, they were to haul any donations that day. Vickie was supposed to contact me when she left my house to arrange 2 days in 2 weeks to work together, but she did not (she sent an email 3 days later saying she would contact me in 2 weeks but that was the week I needed the help) One of the workers was very helpful and arrived on time, the other woman was late, spent a lot of time checking her phone and just putting the same boxes that I had already sorted back in front of me slowing me way down. She did not arrange for the donation stuff to be picked up, and generally just frustrated me. She went through my boxes of trash after I said to throw them out and then loaded bags so heavy that they tore all over the driveway getting them to the curb for trash day. I should have just done this on my own and saved $630 for 4 hours of work. Only got PART of garage done and never made it to the basement in 4 hours although Vickie led me to believe we would. Initial consultation should be FREE. Live and learn to work with people who actually want to help you.
Response from ORGANIZATION RULES INC
"The consultation process and what it would entail was discussed on the phone before it occurred. At the consultation, an organizing plan was made with the client on how to proceed. Resources and suggestions were provided during the consultation. As part of our service, we do take donations that are not too large to Goodwill (a local charity), and this was discussed with the client. The organizing plan moving forward was discussed at the consultation, and was agreed upon and a contract was signed. This organizing plan was given to the professional organizers before the organizing session occurred. There was a delay in responding back to the client. I had been sick and I admit that I made a mistake by not responding in a more timely manner. As far as the feedback on the professional organizers that were sent to work with her:I appreciate, as always, feedback on the services provided. I use that feedback to discuss situations with my professional organizers, as well as to resolve any issues that might have presented themselves during the session. There are rarely issues, but it seems in this case, there simply was a lack of chemistry and mis-communication between the client and one of the professional organizers. I have since spoken to the client (before this review was published) and apologized for the one professional organizer's perceived issue. The client was cordial and seemed to be on "OK" terms. I was informed that she had already engaged another company. The professional organizers were scheduled for 4 hours, but left after 3 and one-half hours per the client's request to stop. I offered to refund that one-half hour, and she told me that she felt that 4 hours was appropriate, as they delivered many donations to charity. After the phone conversation, I mailed her a check for one-half the cost of the session ($240) as an act of goodwill knowing that the client was satisfied with one of the professional organizers. Note that during the working session, the professional organizer that "spent a lot of time checking her phone" had at least 2 phone calls to our office to get resources and attempt to resolve an issue where the client had building materials that she wanted to dispose of, but her trash company would not take them and she did not want to use the services of a paid hauler. These large items could not be taken as charitable donations to Goodwill."
