OLD FASHIONED MAIDS

I hired this company on the recommendation of a colleague who used them until she moved out of their service area and I also checked their rating on Angie's List. In terms of cleaning, they were completely adequate. The main problems were with tardiness: the house cleaners did not always show up on time. In addition, the owner did not always return my calls.

OFM arrived very late for the first cleaning. There were three girls, who did a decent job cleaning the house. I scheduled a second visit for 2 weeks later with the same company, and they did not even bother to show up! I called to complain and received a call back from the head of the company apologizing for the fact that they did not show up that day. He offered a free cleaning for the next visit. I decided to take them up on the offer and called to schedule another appointment (very foolish idea). I called several times and left messages with several different people, including Blaze, Anne, as well as the main line. Nobody had the courtesy to even answer my call. At this point the saying "three strikes and you are out" applies quite well. Don't even bother calling this company. I initially hired them because I read one good review on Angie's List. They have proven to be extremely unreliable and quite honestly rude with their clients.

I was a customer of theirs from 1989-2003 and found them to be efficient, reasonably priced and easy to work with. Over this long period of time I worked with only two teams. They attract good people and retain them. I only stopped using them when we moved out of their service area.

I found out about them via a door hanger ad. I asked for references and was provided several names and phone numbers. The responses I got from these people didn't sound canned,they were honest about what they liked and didn't like. The first time, three people came and charged $85.00. Since then, it's been $65.00 per visit. Michele is always the team leader. She is accompanied by one other person, not always the same. They are always prompt, efficient, thorough, and responsive to complaints and special requests. My only complaint is that when I occasionally need to talk to the company owner, Blaze, he doesn't return my calls promptly.
