Northern Audio

My wife and I spent a day in Pittsburgh on the way to Ohio for a wedding. I knew about Northern Audio as a Klipsch Heritage dealer and I had always wanted a set of Fortes after hearing them decades ago. I had also wanted to hear the new, similarly priced MoFi which they also had on the floor. So, we decided to stop by (sans appointment) and called the store. Mark promptly answered and we went around back and upstairs to meet him. He was more than gracious, extremely knowledgeable, and a joy to speak with. We listened to some great music on the Khorns and then Fortes and Cornwalls. All the while, Mark was wishing his "Klipsch guy" (Greg) was in the store but he was out helping a client with an install. As luck would have it, Greg showed up soon after and then we proceeded to go downstairs to the record store (staffed by family which I loved to see)where they had another set of Fortes set up right next to the new MoFis. Greg and Mark worked tirelessly to set up the demo and comparisons of the speakers across different electronics - it simply could not have been a better experience. In the end, we went back upstairs because I had to hear the Cornwalls vs Fortes one more time. I ended up getting the Cornwalls and they just arrived - love them! Even the ordering was a wonderful, painless process. I can not recommend this place and these guys enough. Thank you Mark and Greg and Northern Audio - I am coming back for more gear soon! Jeff M

This is a highly professional group. Mr Mawhinney is an amazing design professional and is extremely knowledgable and willing to spend the time understanding our needs and fulfilling them. His crew and workers were expert, clean, and accurate.

Northern Audio came to my house for a free estimate awhile back.  After doing thorough research on Angie's List I decided, although slightly higher priced than the competition, to go with Northern Audio based on their Angie's List reviews, my personal meeting with them and their website.  Northern Audio came out on 11/11/2015 and proceeded to install the above listed equipment.  They had originally quoted me a price for a half day's work.  However, my house proved to be a tougher challenge than they initially thought based on their previous walk-through as it is an older home.  They ended up working a full day plus and were still not finished with the task at hand.  After working out the logistical details over the phone they agreed to come back Friday, 11/13/2015 to finish the job.  Not only did they finish the job, they ensured all of the equipment and systems worked together, walked me through each system and how to easily transition from one piece of equipment to the next, and most importantly, and somewhat unbelievably, honored the original quote of half a day's labor and material (it ended up being close to a day and a half of labor).  Throughout the whole process, from initial walk-through until final project completion, Northern Audio was a professional and pleasant company to work with.  The final product is better than I had hoped and I hope to work with them again in the future.  I highly recommend Northern Audio for all of your audio/visual needs.

My Mom lives in another state and could not receive any radio reception at her home. I called Northern Audio and we discussed her needs and different options and I cannot begin to compliment the ideas and consideration we received.  The end result is exactly what we hoped for.

I had bought a Toshiba projection tv about 11 years ago from Mark at Northern Audio, so figured that I would go see him again when I was in the market.  He really knows his stuff, and while I did spend more than I had orginally planned, he only deals in high end stuff. He and his guys came out a week after purchase and installed everything.  Took about 8 hours, but they did a great job, installed everything (included running wires through the walls) and when they were done, showed us how everything works.  Mark has answered every question that I have had, and continues to be a resource if I have a question about not only the products that I bought, but about other, general questions that I have had about electronics.  Great guy and great service.  If you are looking for high end stereo or entertainment systems, call Mark.

It went great. They price match best buy. They are also custom installers. They were fair and advised us what we best for us. They were not trying to sell us things we did not need.
