NIKO is a commercial roofing contractor operating on a national scale.  It is a small company that specializes in custom work and historic restoration.  Occasionally, they do residential work.

They are extremely professional and will provide service beyond the scope of most residential contractors, but they are expensive.

I was very happy to find a Pittsburgh-based contractor who specialized in copper. Then I checked out their web site and learned that they worked on some pretty impressive projects. At that point, I figured there was little chance of getting them to take on my small job. However, NIKO Contracting ended up being the most professional contractor that I have dealt with on my restoration project. They were responsive and explained some of the finer details of the job via e-mail and by phone at my request. My next worry was the cost. I expected their cost to be much higher because of the experience and level of craftmanship as a result of working on national restoration projects. The cost was no higher than the other estimates I had received. I was so excited when I received the estimate that I jumped on their schedule as quickly as possible. Now that the work is complete, I feel totally confident about the quality, and the end result looks just beautiful. I highly recommend NIKO Contracting.

He came out and shoveled a bunch of ice. He got a drill and drilled through the ice that was blocking the downspout. He brought a heating cable and stuck it through the hole to keep it from freezing over. It took care of the immediate problem. He did a really nice job. He put waterproof membrane and a very thick layer of insulation and a commercial looking product on top of the roof. He put some heating coils too. It looks unbelievable. It was a very expensive job.
