MORRY COHEN PLUMBING

Landscaper had broken a plastic drain line for basement sump pump and gutter run-off that feeds a drainage field away from the house foundation.  Landscaper dug up and exposed the break and called Jimmy Cohen to fix the problem.  Jimmy identified that the gutter run-off should be draining into a cast iron line that had been covered over by the previous owner.  Rather than just replace the broken pipe, he cleaned out the cast iron line and properly connected the gutter drain line.  He tested the drainage rate.  He discussed with me his opinion that the sump pump should not be routed back into the cast iron drain.  He explained that if there was a leak issue in the basement from a backed up line or a storm that overwhelmed the house system we would not want the sump pump discharge returned into the system.  He repaired the broken line to the drainage field with a proper trap and cleaned out the line to the drainage field.He inspected a second gutter drainage line that entered the cast iron system and showed that it was draining freely.4 hours on site total.  Allowed me to inspect his work prior to covering with soil.

THE OWNER RESPONDED PROMPTLY TO MY INITIAL CALL AND SUGGESTED REPAIRS RATHER THAN REPLACEMENTS FOR BOTH TOILETS, WHICH I LIKED. HE IS A VERY NICE GUY WITH LONG EXPERIENCE, BUT ONE OF THE REPAIRED TOILETS STARTED TO LEAK AGAIN, AND WHEN I CALLED AGAIN HE WAS TOO BUSY TO COME RIGHT AWAY. WHEN HE DID COME, 10 DAYS OR SO LATER, HE FOOLED WITH THE TOILET AND SAID IT WAS FIXED, BUT IT WAS STILL LEAKING IMMEDIATELY AFTER HE LEFT. I'M NOW GOING TO GO BACK TO MY PREVIOUS PLUMBERS AND GET IT REPLACED.

HE'S FAST, WITH LOTS OF EXPERIENCE. HE SENDS YOU A BILL LATER. PRICE IS REASONABLE. HE DID SOMETHING FOR MY MOTHER FOR FREE ONCE. VERY GOOD CLEAN UP. HE ALSO HAS A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR.
