Had a different provider come out and they told me the heat exchanger was bad and I needed to replace the furnace (see review on Max C Smith). BEARER heating and cooling had originally installed the unit prior to us buying the townhouse. I called Mike...who said it was under warranty and he could order and install for $300. He also offered to go and get the heat going in the mean time. When he arrived...he said we didn't need a heat exchanger...just a new thermostat and switch. Since he had already ordered the heat exchanger and the furnace was 18 years old...I still had him install it.
So refreshing to find an honest person out there. I will use BEARER moving forward and will share his information and my story with all who will listen! I am a Director for a restaurant chain and will also be using him going forward for any work we need done. If you're looking for someone honest that won't rip you off...call them!!!
Mike is a true owner/operator. When you call MS Bearer, Mike is the guy you get! I feel he is very honest, upfront and reasonably priced. His work is top notch! Had it not been for his concern for the safety of my family and home during one of the coldest winters on record I'm sure we would have had major damage from lack of heat in the house. I recommend Mike to everyone I know that needs work done and would use him time and time again!

His service since then has consisted of responding to two of my calls right away by listening to the problem and coming out to my house to address the issue. A few months ago the thermostat stopped functioning and Mike replaced it immediately. Then, several days ago, I noticed that the heat pump was not working and Mike came out several hours after my call. It turned out that I (or one of my children...) had inadvertently changed the setting to electric heat only. Mike saw and fixed the 'problem' in five minutes. He did not charge me for either of these service calls even though he had to drive across town to address them. And he did it with good grace! I will be happy to recommend him because of his attention and follow-up
Mike is a great guy and tells it like it is. He will not sell you work you don't need. Before you get taken to the cleaners by the high pressure sales of other companies, get Mike's opinion.
