M A Thompson Roofing

I have used M.A. Thompson for a roof replacement and siding repair and both times were nothing short of a perfect experience. From the first interaction I had with Andrew and Adam, they were incredibly professional, very helpful with any questions, and providing detailed rationale for everything they recommended in the estimate for my roof in an easy-to-understand manner. The crew was very efficient and worked incredibly hard to ensure that everything was done to top-notch standards. In addition, they provided frequent communication with pictures on how the roof replacement was progressing, which was super appreciated and provided re-assurance. They also recently came in under a week and fixed a small issue with a lifted piece of siding, and cleaned out a clogged gutter I was unaware of. I'll use M.A. Thompson for any roofing, siding, and gutter work in the future and I will be recommending them to anyone in the North Hills.

A tree fell and damaged my house/roof the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. Mike Thompson and crew arrived late that Friday afternoon to remove tree from roof and perform emergency / temporary repairs. The insurance company wanted to compensate me for "repairs" to the roof, not replacement . Mike offered to talk to the insurance adjustor regarding the need to replace existing roof. The insurance company concurred w/Mike's assessment. Mike and crew performed all necessary work in a professional and timely matter. A+ for workmanship, communication, and clean-up! I'm one happy customer! ?Highly recommend MA Thompson Roofing!

We first contacted Mike in March 2016. He let us know that he would not be able to do the work until summer which was fine with us. He also let us know that it would be a good idea to install an attic fan to help with a mold issue. The estimate did not include the cost of replacing the roof boards should any be damaged. Mike seemed to think that he would need to replace some of them based on his initial inspection of the roof. He was right. Almost all the boards needed replaced. Mike called in July to schedule the work and it was completed in August. They also had to remove and replace a retractable awning. His entire team was very professional and the work was done to our satisfaction in 2 days. Everything was cleaned up; we had no debris to get rid of. We would hire this company again.

We were going to replace it with stucco but there were a bunch of leaks.  He was a really nice guy.  I would absolutely use them in the future.

I called two roofing contractors for estimates.  One couldn't do the job within the desired time frame.  I had to wait several months, but Thompson Roofing was able to do the work during a relatively mild day in December.  The crew arrived on time and completed the job in about 2 hours.  I thought the price was reasonable for the work performed and the time constraints.  I thought it was the kind of job that a contractor wasn't going to make much money on.  Thompson reroofed my house and installed facia cladding and new gutter and spout in 2003 and I was quite satisfied with the job that was done then.

They were professional. I haven't had any issues with my roof. I've recommended them to others. I thought that they did a quality job.

Mike and his crew were very professional, punctual, and cleaned up as the job progressed. He kept us informed as to what was going on and if any additional work was necessary, he even did a couple of other things that we asked that were not in the original contract. I would hire Mike in a heartbeat for any other work and recommend him to friends and family.

Roof on the extension of our kitchen was done by the contractor for the kitchen remodeling. 5 years later the shingles (40 year fiberglass) began to come off. Mike Thompson fixed all of them and took pictures so that I could get a settlement from the original contractor.

I contacted Mike for an estimate to repair a botched roof replaced from the previous year. I should have contacted Mike initially as he was very prompt and clearly explained the procedure and exactly what was needed for my roof. He returned for multiple site visits, gladly answered many questions and provided a detailed estimate. The total cost was as estimated and there were no hidden expenses. He was also on site the entire time of the roofing work and supervised the repairs. He is not the least expensive, but I feel a fair price, particularly for the quality and attention he provided. I feel extremely glad that I worked with him and the quality of the work he provided.

I had six estimates. They did a good job. Their price of the six estimates was not the highest or lowest but it was comparable to a few others. They had several workers that came out for the estimate. They are listed on Angie's List and there were good recommendations for them, so that's why I went with them. They had to replace a small area of wood. They are very professional. They came when they said they were going to come. I picked them because of Angie's List and they had good rating prior to all other the vendors that I looked out. They were roofers predominately. Some of the people that I got estimate from were contractors who also did roofs. I had the roof done for the last two winters because it was so much snow on our roof and it was leaking in our house. It had to do with the ice guard, we didn't have an ice guard before because our roof had been done. We've lived here for the last twenty five years but no one told that I should have an ice guard. Thompson did the ice guard which seems more professional. I do have an addition that some time needs a roof so I would get an estimate from them again.

I would Highly Recommend Thompson Roofing. They were also referred to me by my neighbors who had Thompson Roofing replace their roof and were very pleased with their work. The owner of the company is very accessible as I called him on his cell phone from work several times to ask questions and to receive updates while they were on the job and he was gracious enough to answer all of my questions. Very knowledgeable about their trade and does excellent work.

I used Thompson Roofing about ten years earlier for the back side of my house and was impressed with their efficiency, speed, great care for clean-up and general attitude. The price was not the cheapest, but it was very very fair. Cheap often means bad work, in my opinion. I felt that the price of that first job was quite good. My mistake was in not being patient and using a different roofer the following year to do the second half of the job-- the much steeper front side. Long story short, a different roofer did a lousy job, ended up not coming back to address problems, etc etc. Several months after the installation, the shingles were puckered and it looked shabby. Even then, I began to wish I'd waited to get on Thompson's schedule. During the ensuing years, the front roof exhibited all sorts of visual problems and eventually, I discovered that it was leaking as well. When the remnants of Hurricane Ivan came through and effectively ruined the slowly leaking parts, I knew I had to get back in contact with Thompson Roofing. The owner came out, looked at the roof, shook his head and asked who did it. I explained the problem. He went up and unlike the other roofers that had come out for estimates, seemed very positive that it was bad and improperly installed flashing around the dormers. He told me that due to the recent storms, he wouldn't be able to get to the job until spring time! But I had learned my lesson and chose to wait. The roof has looked good as well as performed perfectly since that time and I am very pleased that I waited for Thompson. This work was all performed before Angie's List was part of my home owner's reference/tool kit! I was happy to see the company listed here and decided to submit this review.

They were very good. They come when they say they will, do the job, and clean up. They do good quality work.

EXCELLENT. MIKE MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SATURDAY MORNING TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE AND SHOWED UP RIGHT ON TIME. HE SCANNED THE ROOF AND HAD AN ESTIMATE IN THE MAIL TO US BY TUESDAY. ALTHOUGH HE HAD TOLD US THERE WAS ABOUT A TWELVE WEEK LEAD TIME, HE GOT TO US IN ABOUT 8 WEEKS. WE WERE ON VACATION AT THE TIME, SO WE NEVER SAW ANY OF THE PROGRESS, JUST THE BEFORE AND AFTER WORK, WHICH SEEMS VERY SATISFACTORY. WHEN WE GOT BACK THE YARD WAS CLEANED UP AND (APART FROM THE NEW ROOF) THERE WAS LITTLE EVIDENCE THAT ANY WORK HAD BEEN DONE.

ALWAYS ON TIME, NEAT, AND REMOVES ANY DEBRIS. ASSISTANTS HAVE ROOF REPAIR EXPERIENCE. USES TOP GRADE MATERIALS. WE HAVE USED HIS SERVICE FOR 14 YEARS.

MIKE THOMPSON IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND SO IS HIS TEAM OF WORKERS. THEY SHOWED UP EARLY EVERY MORNING. THEY CLEANED UP AMAZINGLY WELL AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY.
