They have a great inventory of parts and they are knowledgeable.  They work very quickly.  I think they have this job done in about half an hour when I gave them the fixture so you can wait for it if they are not busy.

FANTASTIC! My decorator, Vicki Brown, hooked me up with the store. I had looked in the and quot;box stores,and quot; and one or two other lighting stores and either found the same old stuff or items too expensive. When I went into Lighting by Erik I was greeted by the friendly staff and introduced to Naomi who worked with me on the selections. We talked briefly about what I was looking for and then walked the store looking at all my options. She did not push me in any one direction and even suggested taking pictures of what I liked and showing them to my decorator before making a final decision.
As for the fans, she sent me home with several books and suggested again I take my time and decide as these were all big decisions. After spending the weekend looking through the books we met again at the store and reviewed my choices. She even engaged Lou, one of the owners, to help us work out proper sizing, especially for our master bedroom that has 20 foot cathedral ceilings.
The staff was great, I found the prices reasonable and the choices enormous. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great quality at a great price and a wonderfully helpful staff. They even gave me the name of an electrician to install the fans and lights.

Some of the salespeople are very knowledgeable, and if the salesperson is not, he or she will find one that is. The store has a large inventory. It's more complicated to buy a light or fan than it first appears because unlike fixtures bought at hardware stores, it seems like every part is bought and ordered separately (for example, for the fans - what color paddles, which light kit; for recessed lighting, there seemed to be 3 or 4 separate components). So you get exactly what you want, and the quality seems high, but it becomes expensive and more time-consuming than you might initially think. Also, it wasn't until the electrician installed the ceiling fan did we notice that we did not get a "remote" for it (not hand held, but a part that allows you to operate the fan, not just the lights, from the wall.) Similarly, for the recessed lighting, the electrician had to come back to finish because one part for each was missing.

The staff was very knowledgeable in explaining the features and benefits of the ceiling fan. They was also the available light kit and various light bulb's (clear and frosted) that could be selected and each bulbs lumen's was explained in detail. Of the 200 brands of fans that are available Erik sells a brand that is made in America, which is rare.

The repairman exceeded my expectations by completing the repair so quickly, despite the fact that I had come in initially without an appointment. He was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable, and his promptness greatly shortened the time we had to spend ''in the dark.''
