Scott was very friendly, knowledgable and patient. We are first time home buyers and he was generous in answering all our (dumb!) questions and taking time to walk us through the various issues he discovered. His final report was thorough and a helpful negotiating tool during our home buying process.

As a first time homebuyer, having Scott carry out our inspection put me at ease. He was incredibly thorough and pointed out every issue - minor to the bit more concerning. After his inspection, I felt more confident in buying the house and was even able to get the price knocked down thanks to the issues he spotted. I would recommend Scott to anyone buying a house in the Pittsburgh area. He knows these houses! Because he is so knowledgeable about everything from the structural to historical aspects of the house, I recommend following him during the inspection - I learned a lot during the 2.5-3 hours.

Scott was wonderful! Our realtor recommended him, which made us skeptical, but the good reviews on Angie's List and his responsiveness to our initial inquiry convinced us to hire him for our home inspection. Scott explained everything to me as he went through the house and was very patient with all my questions (I knew nothing about house inspections, or most of what he told me--I asked a lot of questions). He found a number of concerning items during the inspection; I contacted him later to ask if he could recommend a contractor to give me an estimate for some of the structural issues uncovered, Scott responded promptly with a great recommendation.
Overall, I would highly recommend Latosky Inspection. I wish I didn't know quite so much about what is wrong with our new house, but I'd rather know than not know!

The price was very reasonable and cheaper than other ones. He showed up on time and it took him about two hours and he was very thorough. We followed him asking him questions that weren't even related to the inspection and he took the time to answer every single one of them. He sent us a detailed inspection report on what the owner needed to have fixed and followed up three weeks later to verify that the owner had followed through on the repairs.

I called another home inspector which took them three days to call me back telling me they were too booked up. Scott's wife called me back right away. I have nothing but good things to say.

The inspection went very well and we had no issues and he pointed out every problem from minor to major with the house. It took about 3-3.5 hours overall. My only issue was that we had to terminate the agreement with the seller and when I called to ask if Latosky Inspection offered any kind of discount since we would be needing a second inspection with hopefully a new house I was told no. I thought this wasn't very good for repeat business because now I will be using someone else and if they would have offered a discount if an offer fell through I would use them for a second time.

Punctual, thorough, with a lot of useful information. Roof was too high for ladder, so received only a limited visual inspection.

The inspection went well. It was raining which was actually good as we were able to see if there were any visible leaks.

Again, very, very thorough.

Scott was prompt, courteous and very thorough. His report was submitted quickly and included pictures of some of major and some lesser finds, which was very helpful in negotiating with the seller. I feel Scott definitely worked with my best interest at heart.

I called Scott a week ago for a roof inspection after I had my roof replaced. I had him do my original home inspection about a year ago, which he did for $470, and I loved the work he did as he was so thorough, revealing all the home's flaws, and as a result we were able to negotiate a lower price on the house. But this recent roof inspection he did for free. I was really surprised as I'm not used to people in the service industry doing that. admittedly, looking at the roof takes much less time than the whole house, but the fact that afterward I offered to pay him and he said "don't worry about it no charge," and put his ladder back in his truck really was a completely unexpected surprise. He is a class act all around.

He was incredibly thorough and attentive. He explained things to me as we went through the houses and each time I left understanding exactly what I was up against. He is friendly, profession and worth every penny.

Mr. Latosky arrived at 9:00 a.m., set about getting to work, answered all my questions, showed me trouble areas, explained things I was unfamiliar with, and worked for over 4 hours. Really excellent service! We highly reccommend this company.

The inspector (Scott) was very punctual. When I arrived at the house, he was already there and had completed a quick walk through of the house. He wanted to know if I had any concerns before he started the inspection and encouraged me to follow him through the house and ask questions as he did his work. I asked a lot of questions and he answered them all to my satisfaction. During the inspection he took his time, spending four hours inspecting the house and property. He took lots of pictures for documentation and included several in the final report. The final report included everything we had discussed during the inspection and was very descriptive. Overall, I thought he was very professional and experienced. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a home inspector.

I had contacted a company on the List and they referred us to Latosky because they could not inspect the home in the period of time we needed it done in. Latosky was very thorough and we are happy with services we received.

Scott's inspection was mediocre at best. All through the inspection and afterwards Scott assured me that the house was in good shape compared with many he had seen and that most of the issues were minor. He found some evidence of termite activity, but saw no damage. His report looked professional and he did return a second time to inspect a plumbing issue at no extra cost. Unfortunately, soon after closing, a Terminix inspector found substantial damage to the kitchen floor and areas of the basement Scott supposedly inspected. When winter hit we found that the heat exchanger was broken requiring an expensive replacement. In addition to all this Scott caused damage to an outside door during the inspection itself. When I informed Scott of the termite damage and other obvious issues he missed he offered to give me a refund. It has now been over six months and no refund has appeared and my calls and emails go unanswered.
