So my husband hired Roy to remodel our entire bathroom. It started off well and towards the end Roy was becoming rude and sloppy when it came to finishing up. The tile in the shower wall was not level and the grout was not even. He refused to fix it. They also incorrectly caulked our tub and now we have had water damage for 2 years because we couldn't find the problem....they did not caulk the tub correctly and noticed it when we took the shower doors off completely. When we complain about the tile Roy also threatened us and told us if we took them to court we would not win. They are a rip off and do sloppy work.

Kramer Construction gave us the best estimate....thousands less than others. They showed up when they said they would, tore off layers of the old roof and shingled two beautiful roofs, and cleaned up meticulously. Roy is a down-to-earth, caring person and made us feel very secure that the job would be done right.

Kramer Construction did two projects: the guys laid a new floor throughout my home, and did a total remodel of the kitchen — a challenging job, because it’s an old house. Roy Kramer and his crew are excellent craftsmen and very responsive — phone calls and texts get prompt replies. I couldn’t be more pleased. Everyone who saw my old kitchen, pre-remodel, is astounded at the transformation.

Roy and his team installed all new windows and doors on my home. They did a great job and were reliable. Roy is a great communicator and returns all calls and meets you when needed. I chose Roy because I liked his attention to your concerns and his workers came when they said and stayed with the job until it was completely finished. The cleanup was good. The work on the roof and box gutters seem to be fine but only time will tell but I feel confident if there is a problem Roy will take care of it quickly and make sure all repairs are done right. Follow up is important on jobs to address any concerns and he will call you back. The price I thought was fair. I can't say if it was high or low because I didn't get other estimates because Roy understood I needed it done swiftly and done right. I would hire him again and tell my friends he cares about the job.

They were on time, worked hard, cleaned up after themselves, and the price was more than fair. Would definitely recommend them. One comment from the owner did not sit well with me, but not really important. More important was the quality of the work, and the price. And I like using local businesses whenever I can.

Roy and his crew did a great job on our roof. They did my two garages, the main roof, two porch roofs, and my parents roofs next door. They were polite, cleaned up after themselves, and were reasonable about the inevitable adjustments that had to be made as the job progressed. Our roof had FOUR levels of shingles melted into it that they had to fight to get off. The pricing was fair. Roy also was a great communicator. He kept me continually in the loop about the weather, work time, and complications. We are happy with the results and process. Thanks Roy.

Unfortunately we realized after the rough in plumbing that the project was out his scope of expertise. The demolition went ok but his team still destroyed a section of old subway tile we asked several times to leave as is. He roughed in the framing for the toilet and shower walls without leveling the floor which was previous solid concrete on beam struts. However the biggest concern was the plumbing which we had enough concerns that we decide to terminate the project with Roy. Roy worked without permits and told us he had his brother in law who is a master plumber review his plans. However the plumbing was not inspected after he was finished. I am glad we decided not to proceed since we had 2 certified master plumbers inspect the work as well as the city inspector. All three agreed it did not meet specs and actually would not properly drain particularly the Tub. Additionally there was concern about toilet backflow toward shower and tub as well as inappropriate venting. Two other contractors told us the framing should never be performed prior to leveling the floor. We had to have the entire framing and plumbing removed and start completely over.
Unfortunately Roy had no insight into the problems and will blame the lack of a detailed schematic. We provided a computer drawing with rough but close measurements which we had done with several contractors before. If Roy felt uncomfortable with the plans then it his job as the contractor to work out the details. I felt like the contractor most of the time on the project and could not leave work everyday to monitor the work.
I can not recommend Mr. Kramer for any major reconstruction particularly older homes which don't meet cookie cutter specs. .

I have used Kramer Construction for years. My only complaint regards when projects begin. I understand that, because they cannot always tell when jobs will end, they cannot provide a date when my job will begin. However, sometimes the final communication of the actual start date is missed.
Other than that, they show up at a reasonable time before I leave for work; they clean up after themselves; they do a good job for a reasonable price; they are polite and they stand behind their work.

The work was completed in a timely manner. In fact, ahead of schedule. Approximately 2 weeks after completion, we noticed water damage in the hallway stairwell ceiling. After waiting several days for rains to subside and Mr. Kramer to come back to inspect, he indicated that our stack pipe may be leaking and made some repairs (caulking around base of pipe). The leak continued and there were 2 additional visits to correct the problem. And still, the attic was wet and additional damage continued. Mr Kramer informed us that if the stack pipe was the problem, that it was not his responsibility to repair it as part of his scope of work. I said to him, "Well, we didn't have the leak before you replaced the roof." He came back again and removed new shingles and determined that the stack pipe was in fact the problem and that the top of the pipe had collapsed. They pulled out the top of the pipe and repaired it. (instead of replacing it which would be much more money) He charged us an additional $140 for the first visit, and an additional $400 to repair the problem. So far, the leak has stopped but Mr. Kramer left the damaged ceiling inside for us to repair as his contention was that the problem was not a result of his work. Which may or may not be the case. It's now about 8 months later, we were doing yard work in the back of the house and noticed that when the repairs were made, Kramer used a lighter brown shingle to replace the ones he removed. We called him and he returned to inspect it while we were away. He left us a voicemail stating that the shingles were the same as the others purchased, just a different lot-run so, "colors vary slightly but that in a year or so, you won't even notice it" We don't buy that explanation.Although Mr. Kramer was nice to deal with and did make efforts to correct the problem, We can't really recommend him as a roofer to others.

"WE DID EVERYTHING RIGHT..THERE ARE NO MORE LEAKS AROUND PIPE..I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION WE WERE GOING TO REDO THE BATHROOM FOR HIM AND I WAS GOING TO FIX THE CEILING AT THAT TIME.ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS CALL ME TO FIX, LIKE I HAD TOLD HIM WE WOULD.... ITS NOT MY FAULT THE LOT COLOR ON REPLACEMENT SHINGLES WERE 1 SHADE OFF. THE NORMAL EYE COULDNT EVEN FIND IT UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT...WHY the member WOULDNT RECOMMEND US IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE OR IS THE RATINGS HE GAVE US...I WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL , ALWAYS CAME OUT WHEN HE SUMMONED FOR ANY LITTLE PROBLEM AND FIXED THE PROBLEM IN A TIMELY MANNER JUST LIKE HE SAID...I GUESS SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS!!!!!!!"

I hired Kramer Construction to replace my roof. I had a nice slate roof that prior owners had ruined by shingling over some sections and tarring over others. Mr. Kramer quoted a very reasonable price to remove the old slate/shingles and shingle the entire roof. He also relined my box gutters and re-shingled the roofs on my porches. His crew arrived on time and were considerate about littering my neighbors' yards. They took away the trash daily. They completed the roof more quickly than I anticipated. After the next storm, I did notice a small leak along one of my chimneys. That week, Mr. Kramer come out and fixed it. I have had no problems since.

I needed him to make it 10x10. The slab was smaller than that so I had to set the shed on the slab at angle. Instead of disposing of the leftover concrete, he just threw it up on a hillside on property.

After using the equivalent of a band-aid and not even telling us he was doing the work (came by prior for an estimate and simply took it upon himself to complete this work without our consent) he then continued to send angry billing statements for over $200 for work completed.

There is still slight leakage in the areas worked on, and when I went up onto the roof a few weeks later I noticed a few cracked tiled that were not previously broken. I know they have been reviewed well on other projects, so I can only say to beware to not use them for any roofing jobs on tile roofs.
To be fair, Mr. Kramer did say that they do not really do tile roofs, but the workers could have at least taken more care to not crack tiles while doing the valley and gutter work.

"BEFORE THE MEMBER HIRED I EXPLAINED TO HIM WE DONT SPECIALIZE IN TERRA COTTA ROOFS. I TOLD HIM WAS TYPICAL FOR THE VALLEYS TO LEAK AFTER YEARS FROM THE NAIL HOLES.HE KNEW THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE FROM THIS PATCH. HE SAID OTHER ROOFERS HAVE ATTEMPTED FIX ALSO UNSUCESSFULLY. TROY DID DECIDE TO GIVE IT A TRY. ALL PATCH WORK CANT BE GUARANTEED BY ANYONE. I CAME ON TIME TIME AND COMPLETED WORK IN PROFESSIONAL AND TIMELY MANNER. IF WE BROKE ANY TILES WHILE UP THERE WE WOULD HAVE GLADLY REPAIRED AT NO COST, ALTHOUGH WE CAREFULLY LOOKED FOR THAT FOLLOWING OUR STEPS ON THE TERRA COTTA. WE DID OTHER ROOFING WORK WHILE WE WERE THERE. OBVIOUSLY HE DIDNT LEAVE ANY GOOD COMMENTS FOR THE WORK THAT I DID GUARANTEE WITH THE REAR ROOF LEAK AROUND HIS CHIMNEY AND SOME GUTTER WORK....THANKS FOR READING THIS POST"

I liked their quality and price. They have done several jobs for me and have always been very reasonable. Mr. Kramer is friendly, thorough, and easygoing. He helped me when I was doing my bathroom. I had used him to pick up the materials. He helped me pick up everything that I needed and made me feel very secure. He is a great person to work with. I really like Kramer Construction.

Mr Kramer answered his phone immediately when I called. ( a rarity ). He quickly came to preview the work needed and sent me a contract. He began work as soon as his schedule permitted. Mr Kramer took me to Home Depot and helped me pick out the fixtures. This was helpful because he was able to reccommend the best values for the prices. He then packed everything in his truck and brought them to my house. He had two assistants who work for the company and they did the work, but Mr. Kramer constantly stopped by to make sure things were going well. Whenever they ran into a problem ( a built-in toothbrush holder was blocking putting the vanity flush against the wall), he had his assistants consult with me and give me several options for resolution. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. Mr. Kramer is a delight to work with. He is informal yet professional. He is straightforwarward and without pretension. Mr Kramer has done work for me before, always giving value that some other contractors did not. His assistants are polite and respectful.
