On 11/17/13, the team arrived on time to move in the belongings to our new home. At this time, there were initially 6 men on staff. Again the crew was polite; however the gentleman in charge frequently argued with one of the crew members. They did put furniture where requested. I was unhappy that they did not take time to remove legs from a kitchen table which we wanted in basement but because they did not take legs off, we had to put in our garage. I was also unhappy that the 2 men left after unloading the first truck, knowing that it took them so long 3 days earlier. It took the crew approximately 5 hours to do the job; however, I ended up helping them take boxes off the truck myself and carrying them into the basement and other rooms.
Overall, I am upset about the price. We ended up paying about $2300, much more than the $1619.40 quoted. My wife was told that if the end price was more than 10% of the quoted price, we could pay the quoted price that day and then pay the balance later. Anthony, the person who resumed responsibility after the other two workers left, did not appear to know anything about this. When we called about the price difference, I was told that there was "more furniture to take apart and put back together" than expected, which is strange since our original estimate should have considered this since the women came out and reviewed everything with us. I was also told that "we added extra guys to your job and did not charge you the weekend rate." Well, the extra guys did not work the entire job and were never told that there was a "weekend rate."
Overall, the crew was fine. I am not happy with the discrepancy between the quoted price and actual price and the lack of professionalism with the office when discussing this. I would not refer this company again.
One of the movers made a comment about his dog that disturbed me, telling us how he fed it raw meat and was "training it." As dog lovers, we found this a bit disturbing.
Otherwise, the experience wasn't that painful, no more than moving already is.
