Jim Bluestone General Contracting

Jim Bluestone showed up on time for the appointment, was very personable and seemed to understand exactly what we wanted to do with having an entryway added to our house. He had several good ideas, not only for the entryway, but also for the work we wanted to have done on the interior of the house. He claimed that he does alot of work on older homes and we were very interested in getting an estimate from him and having him proceed with doing the work. He told us that he would e-mail us with an estimate as well as pictures of some of the other work he had done in the past. He said that he would get the estimate to us "within a few days." After our initial meeting, during which time he seemed like he wanted to do the job, we never heard from him again. I sent him an email a week after our meeting, but never got a response. The whole exoperience was extrenely disappointing as Mr, Bluestone really seemed to have a grasp of what we wanted to do, and claimed to have done similar work in other homes. I understand that this is a busy time for contractors but to not even have the courtesy to respond after meeting us and promising an estimate is extremely unprofessional. It doesn't matter how good the quality of the work is if the person can't even follow up on givng you an estimate.

He was very informative and he gave us a lot of ideas. He came up with a sketch and a layout but it was more than we wanted to spend right then. He gave us some options, he was willing to work with us, and we?re still deciding what we are going to do. He gave us the quote very quickly and we thought he was great.

the homeowner is extremely happy and everything went very well. The final work product was very nice.
