We hired J&A for an A/C plus duct work installation in our 95 year old house. It came out great. They installed the unit in our attic with minimal aesthetic changes to the inside and outside of the house. They were thorough and helped us to understand what was happening every step of the way. Very clean throughout the project too. They also helped us with some additional electrical work as well. We’ll continue to use them for servicing our heating/cooling/electrical. We would very much recommend them.

Went great. Put in new digital thermostat combining our old 2 thermostats, one for heat and one for AC. I use J&A all the time and have been honest with me never ripping me off. Highly Recommend!

My issues ended up being a tragedy, however J&A owned the issue, made it right, and went above and beyond. Had drainage issues with my AC and they sent out a guy who bypassed the drain with a pump and all was well. When summer came, we found out he did not cap the pipe, and that pipe was what gets used to drain in the summer, so water drained out into my bedroom ceiling and ended up caving in my ceiling and causing massive damage. Now, that sounds bad, and I am sure it is but things happen. What matters here is how J&A handled it. The owned it instantly, did not argue or try to weasel out of repairs or anything. The owner came personally to inspect damages, their top senior guy came in as well. They worked directly with me to get 3rd party companies in to completely repair all damages, repaint, recarpet, dry the walls out, everything. They then went on to repair the issues in the AC, and then replace duct work that had been damaged. They left my home in better shape than before the incident occurred. I want to stress that accidents and bad stuff happen from time to time, there is just no way it does not, but when it does it is how you handle the situation, and in this I cannot think of a better way J&A could have done this. For that I give them high marks and recommend them for their work. I have seen them at their worst and their best, and both passed the mustard.

J&A are my go to company for plumbing, heating, cooling and electric. I call and request them specifically with my home warranty. This time I needed my kitchen sink drain pipe replaced. Billy C. Came out quickly identified the issue and replaced my antiquated pipe with PVC pipe. Very professional, and quick to fix the problem. I will continue to use their services for all my needs.

J&A was hired to install a new furnace as our old one had cracks in the heat exchanger. The furnace was "free" as it was being provided by our home warranty provider. However, J&A proceeded to nickel and dime us for the other costs associated with the installation (which another company was able to come in at for cheaper) and refused to allow us to use an actual quality company (to deliver the furnace since they refused to allow the other company to pick it up it was a $200 delivery fee). Fast forward to the appointment. They finally install the furnace and test it, everything works. They then inform us that they won't remove the old furnace (which was included in the contract). We're unable to contact them despite their claim of 24/7 service. We call the next day to find out not only did they not remove the old furnace as their contract stated they didn't install the flue liner (which we paid for) because it was the wrong size and they had to order it. These idiots didn't tell anyone but their boss until we call the next day. They also have the audacity to stay their Saturday crews can't install the flue liner. So not only are they not even competent at actually installing furnaces, removing old furnaces, reading, following written contracts, they place the burden for their idiocy on the consumer.

ok. They snaked the drain however it was clogged back up in 3 more days - when we called again they said they couldn't come out for another 3 days. We called another plumbing company had it snaked and it hasn't clogged since.

I've used them for about the last 12 years because they're good. They also do our maintenance on the heating and air. They've repaired the furnace. They're prompt and they back up whatever they do. Pricing has been fine. Punctuality was good.

J&A was dispatched by our home warranty plan administrator. They promptly called to schedule our service visit. The technician called the Morning of the service appointment to confirm his arrival time. Upon arrival the tech asked to review the issues we were having. After reviewing the switches and wiring, he explained the work he recommended to resolve the issue before he started any repairs. After the work was completed he showed what he had done and asked if I was satisfied with the work including the cleanup (light dust and plaster from removing wall-plate). I would definitely call J&A again for any service I would need outside of our home warranty plan.

Horrible. J&A was dispatched through our home warranty HSA. When the man arrived he began looking for the sump pump in the house but could not find it. He went out to his truck to make a phone call to his boss because he could not find a sump pump inside the house. 20mins later he is way out in our back yard on the phone again which I believe he is talking to his boss trying to figure out what to do next. This man had no clue what he was doing so me and my friend walked around the side of the house looking to see if this man had any answers from his boss. He goes to his truck writes the slip up saying they dont cover foundation leaks and due to the sump pump functioning improperly located outside of house they cant fix my problem. Charges me $75 and says that i could have J&A put a new sump pump in for $250 which I know its not that cheap, hands me my slip says sorry and leaves. I still have no solution to my problem. Red flag

I'm giving a D only because the tech's that performed the work both times were nice, pleasant, and efficient. Our A/C stopped working on a 90 degree day on May 17th. We were still covered under our AHS home warranty so we called to report the problem. Within minutes J&A called and we scheduled an appointment for May 19th. Arrived on time, diagnosed a broken evap cooler part within about an hour. Told us it would be a couple days to order part and do paperwork then we'd get a call to have it fixed. We got a call two days later to say that the exact part was not available and they had to order a "similar" part- and surprise, the home warranty wouldn't cover the $600 it would take them to "make it fit" our unit. It was just past the 3 day window we had to terminate the contract with them to repair so we had to agree to it. Plus, it was ridiculously hot and we just wanted our AC back. If you have young kids in the heat all day, it gets exhausting quite fast. More than a week later, after attempting and failing to keep two kids under 5 and an elderly dog cool in the midst of 85+ degree days and 70+ degree nights, we had heard nothing, so we called to check on the status. We were told that Memorial Day was a holiday and didn't count (but it was still 7 full business days since they were here according to my calendar...I don't like excuses), and the part was still on order. Two days later we got a call that the part was in and wanted to know when we could schedule. We are home every day and said as soon as they could- and the next available day they had was FIFTEEN DAYS AWAY. I kid you not. They came and installed the supposedly hard to fit part in under an hour. I have no proof of this, but I'm very suspicious that our ELEVEN YEAR OLD Trane system did not have an exact fit part available. I definitely feel as though we were scammed out of a bunch of money (since I know the pay rates for the home warranty companies aren't the best... I'm fully convinced these companies find other ways to make their money). I would think retrofitting a part wouldn't take under an hour. Bottom line is we were without air conditioning for 28 days in the middle of summer. With two kids under 5 and an old dog. They told us maybe we could rent a portable unit! If that is truly their response time, I would never ever hire them again. I've had many, many issues with A/C in the 3 houses I've owned and never did it take more than a week to have parts and installation completed. Too much money spent and way too poor of a response time to ever deal with this company again.

They forgot to finish part of the job and I had to call them back. When they were done the drain they put together wasn't tightened properly and was leaking.

We have used J&A Southpark before and been relatively satisfied, but their responsiveness on our recent air conditioning problem has been totally unprofessional. They made a service call to determine why the a/c was not working, determined that there was a leak, did not test to identify the source of the leak, told us they would have to return to run diagnostics, but reported to HSA that the problem had been resolved. We discovered a few days later that they had not followed up, called HSA and had them dispatch J&A to follow up. The same technician performed the test, told us the compressor was shot, and would report to HSA to get a new unit installed. A few days later we discovered that J&A had reported to HSA that the leak had been repaired. It took me more than an hour of back and forth to get the ticket reopened. J&A promised to send out a senior technician that day. They later called to say that this was unnecessary, and that they would send a corrected report to HSA so that replacement of our unit could be authorized. Two weeks from the time we called, the ticket is still shown as closed and there is no resolution to our issue. While HSA bears some responsibility for this, it is clear that most of the hold-up has been inattention by J&A SouthPark. We will not be using them again.

Called in through my home warranty HSA. Job was initially assigned to a different company. I quickly called in and had the job assigned to J&A South Park (I used this company in the past for a plumbing issue). I received a call almost immediately to schedule the appt for the following day, 12pm-4pm. The electrician called on the day if the appt and was early, requesting if it was okay to come early ... Absolutely! The electrician quickly assessed the issue and got to work replacing a bad receptacle. The identified a bad GFI outlet, replaces that, and then replaced my faulty dimmer switch. All the work was done properly and quickly. And the electrician was very friendly too. This is my 3rd experience with J&A and I would without a doubt recommend this company for all aspects of services they offer.

It was done through an insurance claim. They put about 10 feet of pipe in, it was a big job.
I would use them again and again, I am very happy with them! The workers were cordial, very good.
They do plumbing and heating, so either one I would be happy with them doing.

This contractor was sent by our Home Warranty Company. They had done very satisfactory work for us in the past, therefore; we were happy to have them return. Work was done very efficiently and quickly.

This is the worst service group I have dealt with in Pittburgh since moving here 10 years ago. They came out as part of a service contract with HSA. First issue was that the plumber just took the valve apart, put it together and said it was working fine and was leaving. I tried it and when you select the shower, water goes 50/50 to shower and tub. I had to catch him in his truck and have him come back in. Then he played with it for a while longer and told me I needed a new valve, and that it would have to be ordered. It would take 3 to 5 days and they would call when it arrived to schedule install. 2 weeks later I had not heard anything yet and called to get the status of the order and they had no information. They said only the person who was at my house would know about the order, there was no system for tracking or even knowing if it was ordered. I was told that person would call me that day. That was Thursday. On Monday when I still had heard nothing I called them again and again got the same story and was told I would get a call today from the plumber with an update. At this point I called HSA to complain about what was going on, got a very nice person on the phone who agreed this was not reasonable and they had me hold while they contacted J&A. They got the run around also so they put in another service order. Amazingly, as soon as I hung up from HSA I got a call from J&A, not the plumber who "is the only one who can check on this", but from the same people I talked to 30 minutes earlier and they had my part and wanted to schedule an appointment. Appointment schedule for Tuesday between 12-2pm, I even have text messages which confirm that. At 3:15 I called in asking about my appointment and they said I was scheduled between 2-4. I asked for a supervisor to inquire why I had not been notified of the change so I would not have had to wait at home all afternoon. They told me my appointment could not have been 12-2 because they only schedule 8-12 or 12-4. That really is interesting since I was told and have text confirmations that my appointment was 12-2, and the person I talked to before the supervisor told me I was change to 2-4. Bottom line, in my opinion and in my one experience with them they have been both dishonest, unreliable, unprofessional and incompetent. I will never use them again and will encourage HSA to take them off of their provider list.

It went very well.  The technician's name was Randy.  He called me to let me know he was on his way from his previous job and he arrived on time.  He explained everything to me as he was performing the safety inspection.  He found one small problem with the pressure and corrected it by cleaning the coils.  In addition, he changed out my old Aprilaire filter.  Everything went well.  And, the price was reasonable.

J & A was sent by the Home Warranty service. The bottom of the water tank had broken and water was running out onto the floor. The shut off valve did not work so water had drained through all night until the repair service could arrive the next day. The tech assessed the situation and determined a new water heater was required and also regulations required that an expansion tank had to be installed. ( Home warranty service did not cover the expansion tank.) The tech was very polite and efficient. Installation was done in a reasonable time.
