Jake And Jim's Quality Plumbing

We contracted Jake & Jim's to handle a water heater replacement on a property we are not local to. They replaced an 80-gallon water heater with a 50-gallon tank. The water heater then leaked two different times. When I asked Jake why this might be happening, he said the water heater may be too small. At first, he said they replaced it with the same size tank, but then when he realized they didn't, he said I told him to install a smaller one! Rather than owning up to their mistake, he LIED. Something that a reputable company would have apologized for and corrected, he chose to lie. Now, our company is hiring another plumber to replace the incorrect-sized water heater Jake & Jim installed, AND paying for it as well. I would never use this company again. Trust the negative reviews.

PREDATORY COMPANY. 100% ripped me off. Quoted me $1875, then 15 minutes later upped the quote to $3200 (because I was in a pinch situation and they are greedy). They were going to dig up the city sidewalk to fix a water main. I asked, point blank, "Doesn't the city handle things like that?", "No the city 'doesn't care'". Thank GOD I spoke to another plumber (whom I trust) told me these people were ripping me off and to call the city. PGH20 came out THAT NIGHT and almost completely resolved the problem in less than 48 hours. I paid $575, for them to do 15 min. of work at 6pm ('after hours emergency fee') that was supposed to be partially credited towards this $3200 dollars of work. The 15 minutes of work they did at an astronomical price actually messed up the valve and I had to have another plumber fix it. This company would have charged me $3500 for a job that ultimately ended up costing $500 out the door. Also, they openly lied to me and when I confronted them about it, peacefully and repeatedly, they only doubled down. Plz don't use this company. I regret it.

Under no circumstances should you use Jake and Jim’s quality Plumbing! We would give zero stars if we could!!! We contacted them regarding a backed-up sewer.We paid $275 for the service call,at which point they scoped the sewer line with a camera and recommended the sewer line be replaced.We agreed and paid $2.025 down payment, at which point they proceeded to replace a sewer line. So absurd, they replaced the sewer line on the wrong property. Rather than replace the sewer line at 869 … ave,they replaced the sewer line at 874… Ave. We were told that the dispatcher provided the workers with a wrong address!!!We still don't understand that!Further,they assured us that they would correct this.But nothing has been done!!! It has been already two months and we still didn’t get our money back!!!

Worked with Jake from the beginning of my contact with Jake & Jim's Plumbing on May 10, 2022. He was very punctual, and explained the process in detail, as well, as answered all the questions I asked. Project was completed on 5-18-22 promptly, and communication with Jake via text was perfect as I live out of state. I appreciate all the pics he texted me showing the work I requested as been completed. He also texted pics of the work area indicating everything was left clean and trash was disposed in a garbage bag. Very professional!! Thank you Hiring him again tomorrow for another job! :D

I hired Jim and Jakes quality plumbing to do a full line replacement in my front yard. I hired an excavator separately in order to save money on the project. Jim arrived unprepared the first day to do my job. My three-day job wound up taking a month to get completed. Jim used no safety shoring for the 12 ft hole and it rained all week. The excavator was paid to dig the hole twice because Jim was dragging his feet on my inspection which was part of my contract. His partner, myself and the excavator all caught him in a lie about whether or not an inspection was to be done on speaker phone! It was a terrible experience overall. The excavator supervised him the whole time as it seemed he could not even use the level he brought to measure the fall on my line. Buyer beware....Saving the money was not worth the stress of not being able to use my bathroom for a month being 6 months pregnant! It took Jim two weeks to get a plan in to the county inspector for my inspection to be done. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit for breech of contract to get my job completed. I do NOT recommend this company.
