The experience was a nightmare, but at least we got a decent flooring job out of it. BUT, we had to fight for it. Home Depot subcontracts their flooring jobs about to American Carpet South, and this company is terrible! The first installer sent over by ACS was rude and hostile...so much so that after his second day of installing the floors, I had to call Home Depot and ACS and ask them to tell him not to come back. Seriously, I did not feel safe with that man in the house. He was gruff and non-communicative at best, and when I actually asked him about something that seemed like a problem (he wasn't undercutting the door frames, which seems pretty basic), he snapped and started slamming his equipment around. Please note I wasn't aggressive with him at all...I just wanted to understand what he was doing and why he was doing it. For the most part, I was in another part of the house while he and his partner were working. Also, we paid a furniture moving fee... the first installers were really h****** our furniture, stacking up in a precarious tower in the foyer, and on the porch. They left our furniture like this for about a month. They even left some of our furniture out on the porch at the end of the day, and we had to drag it in (it was snowing on and off).
ACS finally sent someone else over, who was much better. Jason and Caleb (the second installers sent over by ACS) great - they noticed problems from the previous installer's work that we hadn't even seen. In the end, they had to rip out everything the first installer had done and start over. I must say that Home Depot and ACS both managed this very poorly. While the manager at Home Depot (Tom) was very friendly and sympathetic, it took multiple phone calls each day from me to actually ensured that things happened. For example: Home Depot and ACS told us that more wood would have to be specially ordered because the dye lot had run out on the previous order. It came down to me calling multiple times and explaining to multiple people that plenty of wood in the same dye lot was available at another Home Depot store in Pittsburgh, and could be sent over. What was quoted to me as being a "one day, maybe two day job" ended up taking over a month. During this time, the main floor of our house was pretty much unusable. It would have taken much longer if I had not made it a full-time job for myself (in addition to my real job) to chase Home Depot and ACS.
The final verdict? I would NEVER, EVER hire ACS for anything again, EVER. I still shop at Home Depot, but I would not use them for an installation again. I would hire Jason and Caleb  again - they did excellent work (these were the second floor installers sent by ACS), but not if it meant going through ACS. Tom and the other Home Depot folks were friendly and sympathetic, and never got impatient with my multiple phone calls, to their credit. But, I shouldn't have had to make the multiple phone calls in the first place. Also, to their credit, Tom at HD reduced my overall bill to take out the furniture-moving fee, and also get a reduction on the overall installation fee because of the delays and problems.

I had someone else install them. They actually delivered them to me and they delivered one of the wrong size. They were very quick about replacing them when the people were here installing the doors. I called them and said they shipped me two 36 inch doors and I needed a 36 and a 32 inch. They put the 32 inch door on the truck and he ran it right over. I was very pleased with the way they made things work out. The salesman was very helpful. The transaction went through very easily and I paid for them right there. They delivered them a little bit earlier than he promised. They called and asked if they could deliver early which made me happy. I really liked them and they were very cooperative. They are a nice chain. They are really great. I've never dealt with anyone that wasn't good there. They are Andersen doors. The quality of the door and the assistance was good. They were excellent.

They really have things that you can place around the house and that kind of stuff. The staff is poor in friendliness, knowledge and helpfulness.

I got new front and back storm doors put in and both of those experiences were fine. They made it right very quickly because it was a special order door. One door was done last Thursday and the other door was done last summer. The first experience was better. They went up to see and something got messed up, they did it as soon as possible but I wasn't upset about that. Their job was good. The people who came to do it apparently installed the last two doors. I was fine with their price. The guy who came out was pretty punctual. I didn't really talk to him too much but he was professional when I talked to him.

Everything was fine. They brought it in and took the old one out. Actually I wasn't home when they came. I was a little bit perturbed because the door was on the wrong side and I had specifically asked for the door to open on the right. So I had to call them, to come back out and change the door which they did come back and do it and I wasn't upset over it. I don't like the fact that any company says that they'll be here between a particular time and then they are four hours late.

They were quick to respond to our request. He gentleman that was in our home was very nice and we were very happy with the work. Their prices was competitive with other bids. I would recommend to others and use them again myself.

THEY SEEM TO HIRE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE A GREAT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE PRODUCTS. I FOUND THE COMMODE I WANTED, ONE THAT SITS HIGHER THAN MOST. I PAID ALMOST DOUBLE TO GET SOMEONE ELSE TO INSTALL IT, BECAUSE WORKING WITH HOME DEPOT WAS TOO DIFFICULT.

THE HOME DEPOT CLERK WAS NICE BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW MUCH. WE WANTED IT REPAIRED. HE REFUSED TO REPAIR IT OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE LAWN MOWER. HE JUST MADE A SUGGESTION. WE THOUGHT WE WOULD GET BETTER SERVICE THAN THAT.

THE ACTUAL REPAIRMAN WAS VERY NICE, POLITE. TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THAN HE THOUGHT, BUT HE STAYED AND FINISHED. (OUR HOUSE IS 130+ YEARS OLD, SO EVERYTHING TAKES A WHILE.) HE CLEANED UP FAIRLY WELL, TOO. UNFORTUNATELY, HOME DEPOT WAS A PAIN TO DEAL WITH. THEY GAVE US THE INCORRECT DOOR AND NEVER TOLD US THEY THE CANCELED THE ORIGINAL ORDER BECAUSE OF THE SIZE. THE SCREEN DOOR WAS MISSING CLIPS. INSTEAD OF CALLING THE MANUFACTURER, WE HAD TO CALL. THEY NEVER OFFERED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE MISTAKE AND IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ANOTHER 4 WEEKS TO ORDER ANOTHER DOOR. ALSO, WE LIVE ON A BUSY STREET SO WE NEEDED TO HAVE THE DOOR FIXED QUICKLY SO NO ONE ELSE COULD GAIN ENTRY.
