"On June 10, 2015 we sent the roofers to resolve the issue. Since then, this Angies List complaint is the first we were aware that this is still a problem. As soon as I read the complaint, my general manager immediately called the customer to address the issue. The number we have on file is no longer associated with the customer. Please have the customer call and leave a currently active phone number where she can be reached. The owner will personally make sure that the problem is properly repaired. We apologize for the misunderstanding on our part."

"[member name removed] contracted us to install a new roof on the rear of his house. At the time he also indicated to us that he had problems with his front gutter area. We also gave him a price to perform the proper repairs on this front area. He chose to not have us perform the work on the front as recommended. The roofing installation on the rear portion was completed in professional and workmanlike manner and he was completely satisfied with this job. Since the installation of the work on the rear of the home [member name removed] has not given us any indication there was a problem with the installation. [member name removed] continued to have problems associated with his front box gutters and we made an effort to patch these gutters, at nominal charge, without warranty to try to buy him some time. In fact he requested an update of the proposal for the proper work on the front box gutters and filed the F rating while we were in the process of generating the costs. The inclement weather delayed the generation of the new proposal. This F rating by [member name removed] is neither warranted nor justified."
The work itself was well done, my rep at the company was always prompt to get back to me, and this was a very exploratory job so some of the scheduling problems were surely unavoidable and the experience on a straightforward project might be much different. They got everything done within the cost range we were expecting, and resolved everything that we pushed back on. That said, if time is of the essence, I'd have doubts about using them. If they'd have finished up two months earlier, I'd have given them an A.
They were here every morning at the time the said they would be and with having a dog, I was overjoyed with their clean up every night and didn't have to worry about my dog stepping on nails.
The time and effort put into the soffit and facia work that was done on the back patio was very detailed and time consuming, but looks wonderful !
We will say..... we had the original contractor and two smaller roofers that were to "fix" our issue we had on an area and after years of being frustrated, Hausler Roofing fixed our issue. We would HIGHLY recommend Hausler Roofing for your roofing, gutters and soffit facia repairs/replacements.
First off I would like to explain that my home is over 100 years old and although I have only been in it for 6 years the previous owners added a bathroom addition to the second floor of my home and whoever put the roof on did some questionable work which made Hauslers job VERY difficult in locating what was a not so obvious leak.
Hauslers team came to my home within a day or two of me signing the paperwork and came into my home to see where the leakage was coming through the drywall. They then went up on the roof and addressed some flashing issues and resealed around a vent pipe which was what they felt was responsible for the water.
Fast forward 2 days .... I just left for a 10 day business trip out of the country when my wife called me and told me the roof was leaking again in a completely new spot. Me being 12 hours ahead and on the other side of the world couldnt contact Hausler myself so I asked my wife to give them a call. She did so and Nate and his team were VERY responsive and more than understanding of our position (a house that had just been placed on the market for sale). They urgently sent a team to our home and take another look. They again made some repairs. At this point I asked my wife to discuss replacing the entire roof with Nate. There are some contractors who would have jumped at the opportunity to tell a woman the whole roof needed replaced and create some additional revenue for their business. Nate did not do this .... he gave his honest input and told my wife he could do that if we wanted but it was not at all necessary and he would permenantly solve the problem without a new roof.
Hausler made a couple trips to our home (once in the pouring rain to further understand a difficult to locate leak) and continued to address the problem until it was resolved. Again, I want to point out that this was not due to poor workmanship but because the roof leak was not at all obvious. Anyone who understands roofing or construction understands that small non-obvious roof leaks can be very difficult to diagnose on a roof that wasnt put on correctly in the first place. Hausler was incredibly responsive to our phone calls even after we had paid them for their work, often times sending teams to our home the very next day, and never once asked for additional payment beyond the quoted costs.
Nate and the Hausler team have demonstrated outstanding customer service, fair pricing, reliability, and most important trust. I definitly would recommend Hausler roofing to anyone for their roofing needs.
"Thank you for the report on Angies list. We did not forget the job, but should have called this member to make him aware of that. We will strive to keep the customer more informed of our scheduling"
10/04/2011 9:00 AM - Met with roofer representative at property. He climbed on the roof, inspected it and stated that it wouldn?t be that big of a job and that he would have the proposal to me in a few days.
10/08/2011 Received proposal in mail. Proposal # B0688JB in amount of $375.00.
10/10/2011 Mailed signed accepted proposal back to roofer. Didn?t realize that the $375.00 was to be submitted with the signed proposal.
10/13/2011 Received call from roofer stating that the payment was supposed to be submitted with the accepted proposal. Check for the amount of $375.00 was mailed that day.
10/14/2011 Check was cashed by roofer.
10/24/2011 8:30 AM ? I hadn?t heard from roofer since check was cashed so I called and left a message with secretary/answering service. They said someone would call back.
10/26/2011 9:15 AM ? Roofer never returned my call so I called again. Spoke with Meg. She took my name and number and said she would remind someone to call me.
10/26/2011 2:25 PM ? Bob returned my call. He had a slight attitude when he stated that, ?You know we have other jobs that we?re already working on that we?re trying to get done if the weather cooperates.? I told him I understood and was just trying to get an idea of when they thought they might get to my job. He lost the attitude and said, ?Hopefully within the next few weeks.?
11/23/2011 Courtney left a courtesy call message on my voice mail stating that they haven?t forgotten about me and that they would get to me as soon as weather allowed them to finish a couple of bigger jobs they?d been working on.
12/12/2011 12:48 PM ? Received call from Courtney @ roofers stating a crew would be out the next day to do the job. I asked what time and she stated probably in the morning and they would call before coming.
12/13/2011 11:41 AM ? Hadn?t heard from roofers so called the number I had in my cell phone which belonged to the representative who originally came to the house to do the estimate. He stated he was currently on a job and would give a message to the scheduler to give me a call back.
12/13/2011 2:10 PM ? Still no response from roofer so call Hausler?s ?East? number (412-361-4558). Got Hausler?s answering service. Left my name, phone number, property address and message a woman telling her that someone was to start my job today. She said they fax messages to Hausler hourly and would get mine faxed within the hour.
12/14/2011 9:38 AM ? Still no response from roofer. Called ?East? number. Again spoke with woman at answering service. Told her I?d left a message with them yesterday and still nobody replied. She said she would give them another message. This time I gave her my cell number.
12/14/2011 11:37 AM ? Received a call from Bob of Hausler?s. He apologized for not calling. Said he?d hurt his back and that?s why nobody called. (??) He said the crew was at the house yesterday and did the required work. Since it?s raining today we should be able to tell if it worked. He said I will be getting a final statement in a few days stating that the work was done.
12/19/2011 Received Completion of Proposal document from roofer in mail.
12/21/2011 Had first heavy rainfall since first being notified by roofer that work was completed. Spoke with tenant who stated there is still a small leak coming from roof.
12/22/2011 12:40 PM ? Called roofer. Left message with answering service re: the continued leak.
12/27/2011 10:10 AM - No reply from roofer. Called again (412-361-4558). Left another message with answering service.
12/27/2011 12:25 PM ? Bob Falkens (?) of Hausler?s returned my call. I explained the leak of the previous week to him. Coincidentally, it was raining heavy as we talked and I happened to be at the property. There were no leaks at that time. Bob said that once the weather cooperates he?ll come to the house again and check on the roof.
02/15/2012 As of today the roofer has never returned to the house nor have I heard from them.
