I give them a grade of ?thief?. Steve Goldstein was doing work for somebody else at my cousin?s home which is how I met him. I spoke with him and he told me that he could do the kind of work that I wanted. He & the owner, Tony Tomasino, came to my home. They completed the insulation, electrical, and some other things. I was satisfied. Then, in May (the 31 st), I contacted Steve about doing some interior painting. I gave them $1250, signed a contract, then we went to Home Depot to choose the color that I wanted my home painted. I left the paint with them because they were supposed to start the next day. The next day, they never showed up. They were supposed to begin at 9am and by 5pm, they hadn?t showed up and I hadn?t heard from them. I called both of them several times, with no answer or return call. I left a voicemail stating that I didn?t want to start the work, I had a very bad feeling, so I asked them to bring me my money and materials. I never heard from him. I left messages on Steve & Tony?s home phone numbers, and I still haven?t heard anything. I spoke with Steve?s sister a few days later, who told me that Steve was in the hospital. I told her I?m sorry to hear that, but I asked her to tell Steve to return my money. I never heard from him. I left a few other messages since then, and in one of them I told him I?d go to the mages try?s office. Monday evening, Steve returned my call. He explained that he was in the hospital. I told him I still would like a refund, since Tony never returned my calls either. Wednesday, I had a friend of mine call Tony because neither one of them were answering their phones. Tony then answered the phone, so I knew he was ignoring my calls. Tony started telling me that they didn?t do anything wrong, since I signed a contract. He told me that he?s been out to my home three times to try to start the work, but I?ve been here so I know that?s not true. I told him I cancelled the contract the same day I signed it. Tony told me Steve would then contact me. Then, I looked up the PA Contractor number Steve gave me (PA8624468) and I found out that the number was made up. Tony had mentioned to me that he painted and gutted Damon's restaurant onroute 51. I started the magistate?s process and got the receipt back that nobody signed for my letter. I?ve also contacted the District Attorney. Both Tony and Steve signed the contract; and live in the Pittsburgh, PA area. They are both crooks. Steve Goldstein calls his business S&T Construction and Tony calls his Hard Timez Restoration & Renovation. I don't have Tony's address, so I've used Steve's since they are partners in crime. So far, the Detectives assigned to the case have discovered some interesting things about Steve. Now, I'm not sure if they didn't cheat me on the insulation where they were to put 18 bags of insulation in the house. And, Steve is aware that he didn't update all of the outlets throughtout the house. He was to complete that upon painting. BEWARE of these two!!!!!!!!! I didn't think to get a copy of Tony's driver's license and a phone number besides his cell, like I did Steve, which was a mistake. Maybe since I had gotten Steve's. I should have checked Steve out anyway at first, and I will not accept again a business card with only a cell number, no address and no number besides a cell, like I did Tony. But detectives are after him also.
Description of Work: I first contacted Steve to insulate my home & update some electrical work. Then I contacted him again to paint.
