The vacuum cleaner was irreparable, because a motor had burned out and the replacement part no longer is available. He did a great job servicing the sewing machine - made it run like new! The only down side is he charges $35 for diagnosis, not applicable to the cost of the rest of the job, making the total cost rather steep.

He repaired my machine efficiently and demonstrated how he got it working. His price was very reasonable.

I dropped off the vacuum cleaner on Monday, expecting a call on Friday to tell me what was wrong and when it would be done. Instead, I got a call on Tuesday to tell me he fixed a short and it was ready to go! Friendly, professional service, performed between the Christmas and New Year's holidays to boot!

It went fine. The parts that the vaacum needed, he didn't have in stock, and I ended up working with him to order the parts over the internet and I had them sent directly to him.

Purrs like a kitten, he did it within a week and was fantastic. Very informative, told me the do's and dont's. The price was incredibly reasonable. It was well worth the trip.

Owner was very pleasant and professional. He completed the work in less time than estimated, and his final bill was consistent with the initial estimate. My old sewing machine is working like new.

I took my wife's sewing machine to have it repaired. Mr. Matthie was courteous, and agreed to look at it. Two days later, it was repaired and it was only about $55.00! I am very satisfied with his service!

I brought a Singer Featherweight sewing machine to Mr Matthie because I just could not get a good stitch. He kept it for a couple of days (faster he said than his usual turn around time) and called me to tell me he had it ready in the very prompt time frame in which I needed it. It worked - the price was right - and Mr Matthie talked to me about the kind of needles I should use to improve the overall machine performance. Mr Matthie also services vacuum cleaners, and a customer that came and went while I was there said this man is "the best" with vacuum cleaners.

The business is located on W. Liberty on a corner with a traffic light. Parking is available behind the building. The owner was very courteous and professional. The work was completed ahead of schedule

Herbert's work is careful and thorough, and his prices are great. He is a real joy to talk to and is happy to advise on new and used machines. I bought my sewing machine from his business some years ago, too, but only after he had worked on my old one and kept it going as long as it could. Herbert's a real old-school repairman of the kind you can't easily find anymore - a gem, and that is a high compliment coming from me!
