I had a slight gas leak in a valve going to my furnace. Jim from Gravener Heating arrived quickly (wearing a mask), repaired the leak and called me a few days later to confirm that everything was working properly. Our family have been long time customers. Highly recommend Gravener Heating.

Outstanding. Upon purchasing the house in the winter and moving in I discovered that the old boiler pipes were corroded. I noticed some small leaks and put central HVAC on "the list". But, before I got to it one of them burst and poured water into the basement. Gary came over at 11pm on a Sunday and made temporary repairs to stop the water and restore heating -- important on a 17-degree night in January. His team then designed a fully thermostat controlled zoned central HVAC system around a newly installed boiler (prior owners had just put it in) but without radiators (hydronic air handlers) -- in doing so, they got the project within my budget to be able to get it done. When a neighbor had noise concerns w.r.t. AC compressors, they worked with us until coming up with a solution that made everyone happy. Years later when I wanted to turn a "3 season room" into a "4 season room", I bought a mini-split on the Web. It cooled well -- but had lousy controls and couldn't keep a constant temperature in the winter. After wrestling with it for two years, I gave up and called Gary for help. He came out, did some heat load calculations, and sized an LG unit for the space. He installed it shortly thereafter -- and it worked perfectly year-round. I like DYI -- but in this case knowing the nuances of the space, exposure, equipment features, and which manufacturers to trust made all the difference in the world. When I decided to partially finish the basement and needed some duct work moved, Graverner did it. The price was barely more than a couple of hours of labor. They reused many of the old pieces, making small adjustments and connectors efficiently on-site, to save money. After a bad thunderstorm the minisplit unit died. I can't say whether it was the storm or bad luck. Gravener came out and replaced it for free under warranty. Yep. replaced it. They also came out and did (sometimes) annual maintenance on the system, e.g. checked refrigerant levels, etc for me.

It solved a lot of other problems in our heating system. It not only stopped the leaking above our dining room ceiling it also stopped persistent clanging of our heating system on our second floor. It made our heating system more distributed so we weren't having cold spots in our house. There was a bit of bad planning on their part. They had to take down some lighting in our dining room and when they ran the pipes they blocked the placement of one of the lamps. The light were in a pattern that was a grid and the way they laid the pipes down that one light could not go back in the pattern that it should have been.

I think they are on Angie's List and we feel very strongly about them. I like them specifically because of their knowledge set. Very few people know how to service residential boilers. Gravener is very good a at that. I have recommended them.  I am on the community county council and I have brought them in to speak to the public. They are responsive and they know their craft very well. I did have one complaint from their job they did in 2014, but their service calls have been fantastic. They are prompt, pretty clean and they thoroughly check out the boiler to make sure it is safe. There are a fair number of safety controls on there that they are careful to make sure are operating properly. They are the only people I will call.

It went very well. They were in and out in a single day. During that time they removed the old unit, including both the wall and outside unit, etc. They saved me money by reusing the old AC electrical wiring, DC power and control wiring, connection/cut-off box, etc,  But, at my request, replaced the line set and routed the new one through the ceiling joists, rather than below them, to enable me to install a flat basement ceiling, where I could not before -- something the installer of the old unit did not do. The new unit has a 5 year warranty -- much better than my old no-name one which died after 2 years, leaving me high and dry. Even though the new unit had a slightly different shape and different locations for the plumbing and electrical connections, they were able to place the new unit over the same hole in the wall, making the install fast and clean and preventing me from needing to patch up the wall. When they were done, the job was done -- I didn't need to patch, sand, paint, etc.

They’re really close to us. They take about 5 minutes to get here. They’re just a great family. They’re easy to work with. When I called them, they came the same day. They have good pricing. The work they do is excellent. I never have to call them back, it was always fixed. It didn't take them long to find out what was wrong either, they just know their stuff. They're very proper. They just do their job well and they get right to it. They tell you what's wrong, they do their work, and they give you your bill.

They returned my calls punctually. It was initially a repair than a replacement. They came out and did a repair within a day or two when we were having the hot spell in the summer and it was extremely hot without the air conditioner. They had to replace the air conditioner because it was an old unit and they gave me options and their price was fair.

I called and emailed Gravener to have the a/c fixed at my ex's house.  She rented it out and the tenants were complaining that it wasn't cooling the house adequately.
Gravener was overwhelmed with calls due to an early heat wave, but I did get a return call from them about a week after I first called.  i was patient because I had heard great things about Gravener's professionaiism and best practices.  I also wanted to support a local business.
I talked to Terry, their scheduler, on June 3 and he set up a call for that Friday.  The tech showed up on time and was done in about 90 minutes.  I instructed them to clear any additional charges with me before proceeding, so the tech called me to let me know the system needed Freon and how much he thought it needed.  I allowed that additional expense and the system seems to be working perfectly.
I would use Gravener for my own system and highly recommend them for others.

. Three years ago my dad had seen an ad about having furnaces inspected. He decided to that company come out and inspect. They told him that the heat exchanger was in bad shape and the entire furnace should be replaced. My two brothers and I decided that we wanted to get other opinions and each had a furnace company come out. I had Gravener come out and Gary looked at the furnace. He did agree that the furnace was a bit old but not that old and it all seemed to be in good order. He looked at the heat exchanger and thought it had been replaced. He took the information with him and took the time to research the furnace and exchanger. He called me a day later to tell me that my dad had made a good choice with the furnace because the company guaranteed the heat exchanger for life. It had been replaced once but it didn't need replaced at this time and if and when it does he can order the part which would be no charge and the only cost would be the labor for installation. I knew that when the furnace did need some servicing that Gravener would only do what needed to be done for a fair price. (And they did)237

Called several HVAC contractors looking for someone to give me an estimate on a repair to our hot water heat system and get an overall inspection of our boiler etc. They gave me a good price and gave me a day and time within 1 week to do the work.
The men showed up on time, were professional, knowledgeable, and gave me their time and an education on what was wrong within the system, how they were going to fix it and what to do in the future. They didn't mind that I wanted to learn about the functioning of the system and were more than willing to spend the time and answer my questions. The work was performed accurately and thoroughly and now we have a well functioning system. They even helped me look for my cat (that I thought may have escaped to the outside, even though after they left the animal nonchalantly puttered down the steps without knowing she caused a mild panic by hiding somewhere upstairs). I now have a heating company that I can trust in the future. Their sticker is on my furnace and this will be the only company I will call.

The workers are clean, courteous, careful and do thorough work.  Very pleased overall with the work.  Although, when they installed the air conditioning in our home, they advised us to wait to install downstairs vents.  They suggested that the upstairs cool air would drop and be sufficient for our main living area.  It, in fact, is not, so we wanted to schedule them again to come back and install lower level vents and now the cost is far above what they had estimated, but worse, we have never been able to get someone here to do the work.  We called over and over for a span of about 6 months and could never get them here.  Their office phone receptionist was impossible to work with and always lost our files or records of calls.
Response from Gravener Heating & Air Conditioning
"During the process of this job I had an issue with an employee that was handling the telephone and our scheduling. A good portion of the calls that came in were not logged and many long term customers fell through the cracks. Being that I'm the owner and salesman for new jobs, I spend alot of time out of the office. I depended on the office personnel to treat my business with respect, in this case I was disappointed with his performance and it took me almost a entire year to realize what was going on. Since then I have asked family memebers to take care of "our" business and things have turned around. My apologies to anyone that felt they did nor recieve the service they deserved. Over 30 yeras of being in business, I've found out the hard way that no matter how much you do for some employees, it's just not enough."

They did a nice job. A young fellow came out and he was good; I have no complaints. Since I had a problem they shuffled the schedule around to get someone here within a day or two, and it was less money than I thought it would be.

Our furnace was not working at all -- not even the fan. A call to Gravener was answered immediately by a real person, not a machine or answering service. They were able to make a service call that same day. The technician was prompt, courteous and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained it in detail. The problem was fixed in a matter of minutes and the bill was reasonable. UPDATE: The problem was not fixed on the first visit. The roll out switch kept tripping and required a return trip. It turns out the gas regulator was out of range and needed reset. Gravener came out and made the adjustments FREE OF CHARGE. He said customer service is his number one priority and the return trip is covered under his warranty for the first service call. I would definitely recommend using this company in the future.

Came to my home exactly on time, very business like and professional while taking measurements. Called the day they received the deposit and booked dates for installation. Arrived on time, completed work in the time they said it would take and cleaned up completely after they were finished.

Great job! They got here and it only took them 5 minutes to find out the problem. It seems the furnace flue is inside an existing chimney. Some brick chunks had fallen into it and wouldn't allow a good air flow. They cleaned it out and got it working again. They gave me some tips on how to keep it from happening again.

ALTHOUGH THE PRICE WAS GREAT, THE TECHNICIAN'S POLITE AND EFFICIENT, THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS DELAYED MORE THAN 6 WEEKS AND THAT MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO GRADE THEM BETTER.
Response from Gravener Heating & Air Conditioning
"SCHEDULING INSTALLING JOBS IS MY BIGGEST CONCERN. ACCESS TO EQUIPMENT IS NOT ALWAYS AS SMOOTH AS WE WOULD LIKE. THIS FURNACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO HURRICANE KATRINA. OUR SUPPLIERS HAD EQUIPMENT BACK ORDERED BECAUSE IT WAS BEING SHIPPED TO OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY. OVERALL, THE FURNACE WENT IN WELL AND SHE SHOULD SEE A REDUCTION IN HER GAS CONSUMPTION."
