My basement looks 100% better ,since this work was completed. The men worked tirelessly to make sure all areas were covered and protected. .Lots of hard manual labor. Aaron and the workers really bust their butts to make the outcome appealing. They completed the job per the contract.

Harry and his team did a very nice job putting in a french drain in our basement and half of our garage. They were professional and conscientious about their interaction with us during this time of the pandemic. Every worker had a mask on the whole time they were on site. Having the Antimicrobial film put on our kitchen counter tops and basement window was awesome. Dean from Blackout Tinting was very knowledgeable, conscientious and fast when applying the film. He too had a mask on the entire time of the job. Both Harry and Dean were excellent about keeping me informed about issues and questions that I had. They also were very good at calling ahead of time to update me on the progress.

Harry and sister, along with the grew that performed the work were a great bunch of people to hire. They arrived on time and worked a full day. After the work was completed I noticed a small water leak in one of the walls, I sent Harry an e mail and he responded to the e mail, and with in 20 minutes he arrived found the problem, and had one of his grew fix the leak the following day. I would recommend G&J Waterproofing to anyone who need work done .

We decided to go with G&J because of Harry. He is friendly & honest. He was also patient with all of our questions and follow-up. We met with four companies and Harry always answered our questions to ensure we were comfortable with the project we were going to pay for. His price was was competitive. Harry is the backbone of the company and we have nothing but great things to say about him. The work completed was good. The crew was OK.

This company is local and only a few blocks from my home. In all honesty they sponsor most of the local youth sports in our community and my son has played for many years so i already was familiar with them. When I started getting water in the basement I made the decision to ask them to come out as mold and water were continuing to get worst. When their rep came out I was impressed but not surprised due to the fact they do so much good in our small community and surrounding areas. They gave me a very fair price and assured me the work would start and be done on time. Work started on time and was completed a day earlier then expected. As for the work performed i had a french drain put on all 4 walls in my basement and the crawl space encapsulated. With all the rain we have had not a drop in my basement and considering that at one point on a heavy rain i would get a couple inches i am beyond pleased and the mold smell is pretty much gone. This company does so much good and their honest which for me is the most important thing. no question I will recommend them to anyone looking for waterproofing and want to encourage all to use a company that honestly does give back to the communities they do business in.

Harry & team we’re incredible! We found ourselves in a last-minute pinch due to a waterproofing issue that was discovered in our home the night before our closing. Harry came out quickly, provided a competitive quote and got to work. The entire team was responsive, flexible and a joy to work with in what could have been a really bad situation for us. I would recommend their services without reservation!

G&J waterproofing was one of the best contractors and experience I had so far. Not only was Harry professional and provided a quotes within the same week that I called, but they also finish the work early despite running into a problem( no fault of their). Harry was honest and fair and handle it so that my job can be completed and to code. Now, my basement smell different(better) and in the future I can begin to finish it( which G&J waterproofing does as well). I would highly recommended using them. Their prices are fair, they are prompt, and your end up with a dry basement with a working sump pump( I know I did). So, call G&J waterproofing for your next projects. What else would you have to loose beside water in your basement.

I hired this company to do work on my basement. After I received a couple of other estimates, that seemed rather unfair, I was convinced I would have to tackle this issue on my own; until I called G&J. The response time was quick, the estimate was fair, and the work they did was nothing short of amazing. The staff was friendly and respected both myself and my property. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is in a bind and needs professional help in an efficient time-frame. “HATS-OFF” to your performance gentlemen and thanks for your deligent efforts!

This had to be the absolute worst experience of my life. Harry and his sister are the greatest scam artists in the world. If you doubt me, do a Google search on Harry and Katie waterproofing scams. There are tons of them on the Internet. The job was supposed to start on September 6 2018. No one showed up that day. I waited until September 25 and still no one showed. I called and screamed about the no show. I was told they would arrive in 3 days and it took close to seven for them to show up. They finally came and dug the trench which was only one 12 foot wall and one 16 foot wall. Then we didn't see them again until I called and screamed at them again which was 4 weeks later. A 6 day job ended up taking 3 plus months and they never finished the job. I had to hire someone else to finish the job. And Harry charged me $7700 for a crap job that was never completed. I cannot even begin to tell you how awful their work is. When he did send someone to do work, they were incapable of doing the work. My husband and myself had to redo many of the things his workers screwed up. Do not ever even consider hiring Harry to do anything for you. I wish I had never seen him on Angie's list. I have totally lost my confidence in anyone listed on Angie's List.
Response from G & J Waterproofing
"First this is not only sad but untrue. This customer hired us to do waterproofing and when we came their basement was flooding and full of mold behind the drywall. We finished the waterproofing in one day and it never leaked again. At that point the customer agreed we would wait a few weeks and then remodel. During that time they called and accused us of over charging because they felt the price should be better and at that point were compensated although the price was fair and it was well after the contract signed. When we went to frame after done they were not happy with the guys going the work so we told them there would be no further charge which there was not. They decided after the drywall was up that it was not to their standard and they wanted to finish themselves it was about 5 sheets. We are award winning and while we make mistakes we correct and never scam any customer."

They kept a small problem a small problem. If they hadn't installed a pump in my floor, i could have had extensive damage to one side of my house. They came when they said they would, did the job and even went the extra mile with cleaning and dealing with electric. A job well done. And peace of mind.

So our story regarding the work they did is a little complicated so bear with me. TLDR: The work they did was great, their treatment of us as customers was horrible. They didn't resolve a simple issue which turned into a major problem with the city. They stopped taking our calls to solve the issue, and blamed us for not waiting for them once we took care of it ourselves. Since the actual work they did was fine, they are probably still a competent company to hire. But I prefer to support companies and contractors that actually give a sh*t about their customers. First, the good - they were prompt, started the work on time, ended it early, did the work very well, and had a large crew of competent and courteous workers. They were knowledgeable about their work, and clear upfront about the price, any potential adjustments, and risks vs. benefits. So basically, they did 95% of the job pretty much perfectly. Now, the part that I hate and because of which I personally won't be using them again - There was what should have been a small and easily solvable problem. They collected all the debris and put it on the sidewalk in front of our house for the city to collect during waste collection. In our previous work with contractors, the contractors had disposed of the debris themselves and hauled it off the property so we had not experienced this situation before. We were told that "they do this all the time" and all they have to do was call the city to pick it up and they will. When the city came by, they said that they in fact DO NOT pick up such heavy waste (or any construction waste or debris) and that the contractor must take it away. They also noted that the company whose bags GandJ were using to store the debris for pick up - was a private company called Waste Management so maybe they are supposed to pick up the tonnes of debris we had outside our house. We called GandJ and they assured us that they will call the city/waste management and deal with the situation. A week later, IT WAS STILL NOT PICKED UP. I called Waste Management myself and they confirmed that there was no pickup scheduled for our house within the last month, or the upcoming month. They also told me that they have strict requirements for pick up and that the debris I was talking about would not meet those requirements (e.g. the bag could not be more than 1/3 heavy material and ours were full to the brim, the bags had to be able to close and ours couldn't because they were too full, etc.). I informed GandJ of this. They said they'd get on it. Two days later, still nothing. The city then came by again and this time gave us official notice of a fine because of the debris. I sent this to GandJ also. We then gave them an ultimatum, since they had been sitting on this for two weeks and now we had a fine from the city, we would give them until the end of the week to move the debris or we would get another contractor to do it and charge GandJ the cost. We asked them REPEATEDLY to please call us, please get in touch, please communicate to us what was going on. This was when we got radio silence. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday...nothing happened. No call, no text, nothing. Then we got another contractor to come in on Sunday and my husband and him and our neighbor spent the entire day hauling and removing the debris, which cost about $1,000. I contacted them AGAIN, and this time they replied saying "Oh you shouldn't have done that! We have a pick up on Tuesday!". I said, "Well, you had a week to tell us that you had scheduled something and we told you we would hire another contractor by the end of the week" and they then became snarky and really impolite about how they couldn't have possibly known (despite the emails and phone calls) and that removing debris from a job "isn't part of their job" (???). We were polite but firm, we had all this paper evidence showing that (a) we had contacted them, (b) we had asked them to call us, (c) Waste Management had repeatedly confirmed that no pick up was scheduled, (d) the debris was illegally on the public sidewalk for two weeks, etc. etc. They told us to send them the invoice for the new contractor, and we did. I have not heard from them since, despite calling them YET AGAIN to talk about negotiating that they pay at least SOME part of this invoice or at the very least apologize about the mess. I think most of all what annoys me is their attitude. We were trying to work with them and we never received a single apology. Just a lot of talk about how "they do this all the time", "it's the city's fault", etc. etc. If they had at least shown us that they were in fact trying to fix the situation or help us out, I wouldn't be so angry. And we never raised our voice to them, never called them names or anything stupid like that. We were calm and responsive and just wanted it taken care of. They just stopped taking our calls. And for a project that was over $10,000 out of our pocket, I feel like they could have done SOMETHING to help us with the $1,000 bill and the city fine. Here is the timeline of events that we have in an email: ***** You called "the city" on July 10th to request a curbside pick up. Later, you said "Waste Management", not the city. Waste Management and The City are two separate entities. We are still unclear as to who was called. Through this entire week, the debris was not picked up. Nor where we called about it. We called both The City department of public works and environmental services and Waste Management (Bagster) on Tuesday the 17th. At this time, WM had no record of any scheduled pick up by GandJ for our address. WM also advised us that bags containing more than 1/3rd heavy material, bags that are overflowing, or bags over the weight limit will not be picked up. At this point, we called GandJ and you assured us that you would call WM and sort it out. We also passed on the information to you about WM's pickup requirements. We received an email later confirming that the bags will be picked up by the end of the week (i.e. Friday the 20th). On Wednesday the 18th, Harry stopped by to check on the bags and let us know that two guys will be coming to deal with the bags on Thursday. On Thursday the 19th, two gentlemen came by from GandJ but the bags were still there by the end of the day. We contacted GandJ again by phone, text and email. Although we did text a little back and forth, Daniya asked to get a call to discuss this properly. We still have not received a call. On Friday the 20th, The City services stopped by after their trash collection rounds to remind us to have the bags removed and confirmed again that they do not dispose or pick up concrete/heavy material, nor are they responsible for WM dumpsters. By Sunday the 22nd, we still had not heard from GandJ. We called another contractor to pick it up. Since it was Sunday and he was understaffed, we had to put in labor to help with the loading and hauling. We sent the invoice to GandJ.
Response from G & J Waterproofing
"First G&J appreciates all customers but the unfortunate part of this review is the garbage complaint is false. G&J placed all debris in a dumpster bag which the city does not pick up it is picked up by waste management. This customers bag was paid for and they were scheduled for pick up in 2 days which they were not willing to wait. When the customer called us to tell us the city didnt have record we informed her that it was not her regular garbage and we showed her it was paid and scheduled. She a day later informed us she had her neighbors helping out and that she was doing it herself again unnecessarily since we had paid. After a few days and having not heard from them we were asked to pay over 1000 for a service she hired. Now keep in mind we paid $300 to have removed and had already made her aware. What made less sense was we had showed proof and called the city for her to make clear it was being picked up. This customer admits we were on time and did a great job and so why would we leave the debris with no intention of picking up? Not only was the job done but ahead of schedule being as there was a need to be done quick as they were concerned and wanted done asap so we came early and worked late. This is a case of someone being impatient and not being fair. Great work On time Neat knowledgeable Skilled And gave us a D while we respect and appreciate all feed back of all customers this review is misleading and honestly just not done fair as the debris was never an issue."
