G & G FITNESS EQUIPMENT INC

To make an appointment with G and G fitness repair you call a central number in buffalo N.Y. where the main office is evidently located and they dispatch a repairman in your area. I gave a detailed account of the problems I was having which included a elliptical that had no resistance which means the lower control board is more than likely bad and a treadmill that needed a new bearing and a lube. None of this information was evidently passed on to the repairman so when he showed up he had no bearing and no grease and no control board for my machine. The appointment was between 9 am -12 . At 10:30 we got a call asking if it was ok if he came between 2:30 - 3:00 pm. He showed around 3pm. Very nice guy, seemed to be experienced and know his job. He spent about 45 min looking over the machines which included a call to the manufacturer. He then told me I needed a ....lower control board, which was no longer available and the machine could not be fixed,(I however found several aftermarket suppliers) a bearing and grease none of which he had. He then wrote me a bill for 128.00$. I got a message from the central office the next day asking if I would like to make another appointment. So if you decide to use G and G, expect at least two visits. The first visit to be an evaluation only, no matter how much detailed information you give them before they come and the second visit to actually fix the machine. I thought the evaluation fee was a little high and that the repairman should have been better informed and carried parts with him. I do understand you cant carry every part for every machine however. I gave them an overall rating of C because of the high evaluation fee and I felt considering the detailed information I gave them initially, some actual maintenance should have been done on the initial visit .
