I found them by observation in the neighborhood. They're professional and they do their job in a timeframe that they said they're going to do the job. We've been satisfied with the work that they have done on the car.

I had called Bob last week seeking help why my car would sometimes not start at all, every light on the dash lit up when I turned the key, but not even a whimper from the starter. I told him I thought I had a bad spot on the starter. He said it could be many things, he could not diagnose until he had the car on site. I was impressed enough with his manner and competence on the phone that I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday, on the chance Cochran would not fix the starting problem. I submitted a review based on the phone call, no service done.
I had the car towed to the Subaru dealer, where they did several hundred dollars worth of other work, useful or necessary or both. They put in new battery, checked alternator and starter, did not find any problem. Started every time, they said. I picked it up, and first night had identical starting problem. But intermittent problem allowed me to get it started. I drove home, and played with it. It started several times, but not every time. The next morning I drove it five blocks to Frick Park Service. Bob was outside, saw me pull in and turn the car off. He came over to see what was the problem. I tried starting it again, and again got the all lights lit, nothing at the starter. (I was pleased to see the problem present itself at his site- I hate it when an intermittent problem does not occur when the repairman is there!) Bob asked me to try to start it again, wouldn’t start. He asked me to push clutch all the way in; car started He said he thought the problem was the winter mat I had put on the driver’s side. It kept the clutch from depressing far enough to allow starting. He arranged mats so they were not blocking clutch. I thanked him, pleased I had no cost for the service. He said he was here to save me money, not make me spend it.

Just as well as always. They have been caring for this same car now for 11 years, and it shows. It has never broken down once. They are on top of all the maintenance, and as long as I go in and get my inspections and oil changes the car has needed little else (but they always warn me when something will be coming up, when they see anything wearing, etc. so I can plan ahead). They are friendly, the care is always ready on time, and when I stop by for something little like an occasional wiper blade it is most often free. They are just great. Just great.

They are excellent. The place is very neat and clean and it is not like the other automotive places. What I like about them when you go there as a woman is that they explain everything. They are very courteous and they talk to you. I have been to some automotive places where they kind of talk down to you. They are very good. A lot of times I have asked them if I need something for my car since it is older and they have told me that I don’t need that. They take care of what needs to be done. They don’t try and oversell me anything. Their price is probably comparable compared to the other people. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

This place came recommended by a friend who knows the owner. The check engine light came on in my vehicle, and I took it to them for repair. Short version: they replaced a section of the exhaust system for $2400 (approx $1900 parts + labor). The light was still on, so I brought is back and they replaced an oxygen sensor for $420 (parts only). Light was still on and they replaced another oxygen sensor. I was a bit shocked at the price of parts (I've replaced oxygen sensors myself for $80 - it is truly a 15 minute job), so I looked up the part numbers from the invoice. I was a bit shocked to see that the parts were being grossly overpriced. The $420 oxygen sensor, for instance, would cost $110 at Pep Boys. The catalytic converter sections were $130 at the store, and I was charged $540/each for two of them! I can understand a small markup of some amount to cover purchasing or whatever, but this policy seems corrupt to me. I paid full labor to put in the parts, so I don't expect to pay an additional 'hidden' cost for parts. I even called the dealer and the cost of the same repair would have been almost half of what I paid. When I mentioned this to the Frick Park Auto manager, he became quite upset and told me that if I wanted to research the repair costs, I should do the job myself and he told me to take my car elsewhere (of course he still overcharged for the repair). I obviously won't be back there, but if you go there, get an estimate on parts and labor ahead of time, and perhaps do a bit of comparison shopping - I wish I had.

Very good. They do pretty well keeping our old Volvo running and they charge less than taking it to a dealer.

I assume they did what was required in the 75k mile checkup but I don't know for sure. Seems like a lot of money to change the oil and inspect things. I will probably continue to take the car there for regular service or inspection but not anything bigger because they are so convenient to our house and they are easy to deal with.

My car is running fine after the repairs, but when I checked on the prices they charged me, the same parts (same manufacturer and serial numbers listed on the receipt) from an auto supply store would have cost me from 4 times to 16 times less. When I called to ask about why the huge markup, they stated that that's what they are charged for the parts and that they stand by their work 100%. They stated that customers are not permitted to supply their own parts (per management).

The service was prompt and the mechanics were pleasant. But there is absolutely nothing to be said for having a car stall at midnight, and having to walk home at that hour, especially in my neighborhood. There is also not a lot to be said for having to replace a car one has had for all of two years. Frick Park Automotive put a new engine in my car in spring of 2007. According to the mechanic who saw my car most recently, if they had put in a new water pump when they put in the new engine, my car would be running just fine now.

They lubed the strut mount, gave me a price on a new strut assembly, and didn't charge me a dime, despite my offering something for their time. I'll probably live with it over the winter, then take it back to them for a new strut assembly in the spring. It's not the first time they've charged me little or nothing to fix or diagnose a problem - an honest shop which does good work.

I use this place regularly for my car services. It is very convenient for me since I drop it off at night, leaving them the key. They called me the next morning to give me an estimated price. In less than one day, they completed the stated work and I was on my way.

They are always very busy but when I have a problem, they are always good about getting me in. I know that they will do a good job and I trust them. They have kept my car going this long. They are fair with the prices also and I think maybe that s why they are always busier.
