EXECUTIVE CHIMNEY & FIREPLACES

It was a difficult job because the shape of the fireplace box made the cover very difficult to attach. However, they did a reasonable, if not fantastic, job. I was also going to have them inspect the chimney. In fact I chose them because the price of their inspections was lower than other places I called. However, they weren't able to do it that day because the chimney was so tall they would have needed to bring scaffolding. I never rescheduled the inspection because my wife and I decided soon after to move out of the house. The only reason I say I wouldn't use them again is that I've since joined Angie's List and have found another company I'm using now.

Their estimate was in the range of the other estimates that I received. Very knowledgeable. Good work. They did what they said they would do. One small problem: when they moved the flue from the gas hot water heater to feed into the boiler flue, they forgot to patch the hole in the hot water heater flue hole in the chimney. I called about it (before I paid them) and they said it was an oversight and sent someone out to fix it the same day. Also, they used stainless steel duct tape to cover the seams on the vents from the boiler and hot water heater to the liner. The previous vents did not have any. It looked pretty shabby, but they said that it provides extra protection and has a life time warranty, just like the liner.

This time they did not return my call.

Group was punctual, arriving at scheduled time. They reduced the price when they noted that chimney did not need to be cleaned, only charging me for an inspection. However, there was a VERY hard sell to not only fix the problems noted, but to install an EXTREMELY expensive fireplace. When I asked for an estimate, the estimate only included the entire fireplace package, not just the repairs. I felt that their goal in coming was to sell me a new fireplace.

The estimate provided by Executive was much higher than we expected. They quoted a new chimney & a steel insert at over $5,000. We did not engage Executive to make these repairs.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. THEY WERE PROMPT AND THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT PROTECTING OUR FURNISHINGS AND OTHER AREAS OF THE HOUSE. THEY WERE VERY NEAT.

THE SWEEPS WERE VERY POLITE, ARRIVED WITHIN TIME SLOT, AND WERE CAREFUL AND CLEAN.

OWNER OBVIOUSLY LOVES WHAT HE DOES, BUT THE HARD SELL ON THE $3000 FIREPLACE, (PLUS $4000 IN REPAIR WORK), WAS TOO MUCH. I WASNT INTERESTED IN THE STYLE OF FIREPLACES HE WANTED, BUT HE WASNT INTERESTED IN LISTENING TO THAT.

GOOD PRICE FOR CLEANING, BUT AFTERWARD WANTED TO WORK ON CHIMNEY FOR $3000. SAID IT NEEDED WORK. HOME IS ONLY 15 YEARS OLD.
