We had a really great experience with them refinishing our bathroom. It took about 1 month to get on their schedule, but they team was really nice, punctual and the finish product was excellent.

We are delighted with the outcome. Al came to see what we needed. After measuring, he made some suggestions and recommendations to better fit into the room; we then went to the showroom, picked what we wanted, and in less than six weeks the items were in and the one-day job was scheduled. Jeff, the plumber, was very polite, tidy in his work, and very professional in his demeanor. He ran into a problem when removing the toilet (it was very old and needed a new cast iron flange) which he called to our attention immediately and then corrected it with no complaining. The room has a whole new look and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the material and the service we received.

Very nice workers, but the request was for “light grout, same as kitchen." The result was very different from the request. There is a vast difference between the kitchen grout (which they did 2.5 years ago) and the much darker, unfashionable and unattractive dark bathroom grout.
Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh

"It's unfortunate this customer is not completely satisfied with the final outcome of her bathroom remodeling. She chose the same tile and grout for her bathroom project as she chose for her kitchen backsplash. That is exactly what we installed. In fact, we showed this customer the original receipts for the tile and grout from her kitchen, and the new receipts for the bathroom tile and grout, confirming they were the same products installed. From the posted photos it is obvious that the difference in appearance may be caused by the different light sources in the two rooms or the color of caulk the customer chose. The kitchen gets a lot of natural light from the nearby window. The bathroom is lit by incandescent lighting. Although we strive to satisfy each and every customer, circumstances such as this are outside of our control. Prior to the customer posting of her review, we did revisit the customer's home and changed the caulk. When we left the home, the customer was, in fact, quite happy. We did enjoy working with this customer and are sorry she felt it necessary to give us a less than excellent review."

They created a very nice-looking tile shower for us 3 years ago. Recently, the shower door stopped rolling smoothly - I went back to the showroom in Brentwood and Sarah and Pat contacted the manufacturer for parts - when the parts arrived Dreammakers sent a staff member to install it. I was very happy with their response.

I am very pleased with all aspects of working with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen during my recent bathroom remodeling! Project went as scheduled and pricing was actually less than I expected! I used this company several years ago for Kitchen remodeling & didn’t hesitate to call them for bathroom updates!

My husband and I bought our first house about a year ago. It was definitely more of a “fixer upper” and everything was very dated. We had two bathrooms, both with walk in showers only. We saw this as the perfect opportunity to not only install a bath tub but also to remodel the entire bathroom. After much research, we decided on Dreammaker. We had met with the owner, Al Koval, and other staff at the show room a couple of times and immediately knew we had made the right decision. They were so helpful with the entire process and we knew what to expect every step of the way. Shortly after our meeting, the remodel began in our new home. Matt Williams was the gentleman who did the majority of the work and we can’t say enough about how professional, meticulous and detail oriented he was. As we saw the progress we were so excited about the final outcome. We no longer had a tiny walk in shower, but a beautiful bath tub with gleaming white tile, a spacious niche, a brand new toilet, a large vanity and no more ugly wall paper or flooring! Every day it looked better and better! There were a few road blocks, such as all of the plumbing being old and crumbling-requiring a total replacement of everything, however when speaking with the Dreammaker team they were concise about what needed done to fix the problem and any issues were fixed without hitch. When we saw the final project it was even better than we had envisioned. The entire process from start to finish went so smoothly, despite the unexpected. We couldn’t be happier with how our bathroom turned out in our new home, and we will absolutely use them again in the future as we have plans to remodel our kitchen and second bathroom next! Al, Matt, and the entire Dreammaker team lives up to their name and made our bathroom dreams come to life!

We were very pleased with the design help we got from Martha, the design consultant. We were also very pleased with the installer, Matt. We were extremely impressed with his workmanship and professionalism demonstrated during the completion of our bathroom project. Matt was meticulous in his work habits and his attention to detail was extraordinary. With over 40 years of having work done in our home, Matt, by far, was the hardest worker we have ever experienced. He kept on task and exhibited excellent workmanship. We couldn't be happier with the end result. We highly recommend Dream Maker Bath & Kitchen for remodeling work.

2 Years ago, we decided to remodel our powder room (fixtures & floor). Nothing major, we stopped by a local business on route 51 named Dreammakers. This is where we met Cindy. She showed us around the showroom. At this point, we have no idea what we are looking for; we just know it needs to be fixed/updated. We brought a detail drawing of the bathroom. With this drawing, Cindy was able to help us make some selections and hammer out the details. Before we finalized the deal, Cindy visited our house to see the powder room first hand to make sure everything would work in the tiny bathroom. This work was finished within a week’s time from demolition to rebuild. As with any project, there were a few small things that needed to be adjusted during the rebuild but nothing major. That being said, this year we decided to gut our main bathroom and update fixtures in the ½ bath in the basement. Without hesitation, we headed to Dreamakers. Cindy greeted us again and we went to work. This project was a lot bigger and more complex. The basement bathroom had to be completed before work on the main bathroom could start. Also, we had some ideas what we wanted this time. Upon entering the showroom, we saw the perfect bathroom on display for us. We had decided to remove our tub and replace it with a walk-in shower with a bench. There it was on display. Now it came to the hard part of picking colors etc. This is absolute torture for me and getting the 2 of us to agree is a minor miracle. Cindy was an absolute gem at helping us through this painful process. We spent about 2 hours picking tiles, accents, fixtures, etc. Next Cindy stopped by for measuring and finalization of the contract. Now let me remind you that we are replacing the original 1950’s bathroom. The timeframes were discussed and the plan came to light. The bathroom in the basement was to be finished completely before the main upstairs bathroom could start. The written contracts were created. Things began to fall into place. Ryan was our project manager and due to the small work area, the main worker. He was very professional. The demolition took about a week to complete. Ryan was amazing during this time. He was able to keep everything neat and clean. Every day would start with him covering everything with tarps. Before he would leave for the day he would vacuum and clean up. Due to the small space, he had to be organized with his movements and timeline. Ryan was also able to help with any roadblocks that surfaced during the project. I would recommend Dreammakers to anyone.

Very impressed with the quality of work performed and he professionalism of the team. All the tradesmen were very courteous and helpful, and were very conscientious around tidying up at the end of each day. Al Koval was available throughout all projects and was very proactive and accommodating when we had design or specification changes to make. We felt that the team from DreamMaker had excellent customer focus and would definitely use them again.

It took 3 people to complete the remodel.
Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh

"We are disappointed and surprised to read this customer's review at this date since the work we did in their bathroom was four years ago in December 2013 -- not 2015 as noted. Upon completion of our work they were very satisfied and complimented our workmen. In 2015 and 2016 we were called back to address a few issues caused by the customer, which we promptly repaired. Once a job is complete, it is up to the customer to clean and maintain their refinished or remodeled bathroom. For this customer to say they would hire us again, but give such a poor overall grade is contradictory and rather ironic."

we had problems from the start. most of the problems were just things that happen, and the owner Al was right on it to fix them. some of the issues were just plain sloppy work, witch i had to point out to have fixed. Al is a good honest guy, but some of his workers really don't seem to care much about their work. because of the whole experience, i would not recommend this company.

At DreamMaker we try very hard to assure customer satisfaction with quality that meets or exceeds industry standards. Although admittedly there were a few bumps along the way, the final result was a beautiful bathroom."

Remodel went very well. I have a very small bathroom that needed to be updated. After receiving several estimates, I decided to choose DreamMaker which was less than others (one as high as $12K!) but not the lowest price (lowest was $7K). The price was, however, in-line with what I was planning to spend and the owner was very personable and accommodating. I liked that fact that most products could be seen in the showroom rather than having to shop around. The only rating that was less than a "A" was Punctuality or Timeliness due to the fact that the job began a day later than planned and lasted a few days longer. As someone that works full-time, it was a bit difficult for me to adjust my schedule to be there. But the employees were very efficient and did do a good job, so I would rather have them take longer to complete the work than rush through things. Very pleased with the outcome and would hire again as needed.

Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh

"We were rather surprised to see a somewhat negative review from this member since we did not, in fact, do any work for her. The $500 deal she purchased was for a kitchen remodeling project. We did contact Angie’s List on the member’s behalf to ask that a refund be issued to her. We contacted this individual to notify her of that request and to suggest that she contact Angie’s List directly. We hope after a refund is received she will be gracious enough to post an additional comment more to our favor. In defense of DreamMaker, we contacted her in November immediately upon notification by Angie’s List and continued to call and leave messages for several weeks thereafter. She did not call us back until February by which time when we went to look at her kitchen another contractor did the work. She was only interested in having DreamMaker fix some of the items that were not done by the other contractor. She then asked us to take a look at a bathroom remodeling project. In the spirit of good faith, we offered to honor the $500 deal against her bathroom project even though that was not the original deal. Our proposal for the scope of the work she wanted in the bathroom exceeded her budget. This is not unusual and actual costs occasionally exceed customers’ estimated budgets usually because customers do not consider the “invisible” work, such as electrical, wall repair, plumbing, etc. It is unfortunate this member was not satisfied with her experience with DreamMaker but in the future it would probably be a better idea to have a contractor visit to discuss their project before making a financial investment into the unknown."

Everything went very well.  From the beginning, I got very personalized service from Al and his designer, Cindy.  Cindy came to my home and took detailed measurements and photos of my bathroom.  Then I went to the showroom to pick out a new sink/vanity top, faucet, and toilet. Cindy helped me find the select the sink and toilet and Al helped with the faucet.  I really wanted everything done before Christmas and they were able to squeeze in a date for me.  My vanity had to be custom made because it was not a standard size.  Also, it turned out that the walls were not perfectly straight so it was not an easy installation.  The installer did a really nice job removing the old sink and replacing it without damaging the cabinet, which I did not replace.  The bathroom looks beautiful.  I had the walls painted and got new lights and it looks like a brand new bathroom.  My family came over for Christmas and everyone loved the new, modern-looking bathroom.
I loved the personalized attention and help every step of the way.  I plan on replacing my kitchen countertop and sink and having my other two bathrooms renovated and will be going back to Dreammaker for all the work.

They messed up a lot of small things and then left. We had to take them to court over the bathroom but they still did not repair any damages. We are not happy with their work and we will never use them again.
Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh

"Angie’s List has been instructed to remove this review from our listing since it has been posted in violation of a Court Order. [Member Info Removed] did take us to court but he neglected to state that his case was completely dismissed and DreamMaker was exonerated of all charges. [Member Info Removed] continues to harass DreamMaker and has been court-ordered to cease and desist from any and all actions against our company. [Member Info Removed]’s bathroom work was completed in June 2014 after which we were hired to remodel his kitchen, also in 2014. DreamMaker has been in business for over 48 years and we are proud of our excellent reputation for integrity and quality of work. We take offense at the accusations made by [Member Info Removed] and are proceeding to investigate legal action against [Member Info Removed] for defamation of our reputation which we strive daily to maintain."

The bathtub is very cheap, plus they chipped it. They just painted over it but its still chipped in a bad spot. There were ceramic pieces all over the tiles and on bathroom walls. There was tile on the wall and they removed it, but you can see ripples in the wall from where it was. He just covered them with plaster. The toilet is uneven and rocks. He said he would provide all materials. But he didn't he didn't, I had to go buy a light. Then there was an issue with the exhaust fan. He charged me an extra 200 dollars to install it. The electrician put the plugs on the wrong wall. They installed a shelf in a terrible spot. I had to buy paint my self. I wanted vinyl flooring but he showed up with ceramic tile and just placed it on top of the old vinyl. The owner of the company sent this man who did everything by himself who couldn't see too well. They never returned to see if I was happy with the work and just had the workers pick up the check.
Response from Dreammaker Bath & Kitchen - Pittsburgh

"In response to [Member Name Removed]disappointing review we are taking this opportunity to reply. The bathtub installed in [Member Name Removed]home was an American Standard Americast bathtub. Anyone familiar with these products knows that American Standard is a quality product. We are unaware of any issue with the toilet and if [Member Name Removed] would have called, our plumber would have been sent to take a look and resolve any issues. When our customers sign a contract to work with DreamMaker the complete scope of work and a complete list of materials to be provided and which are chosen by the customer is included in the contract. [Member Name Removed] chose ceramic tile – not vinyl – and the ceramic floor tile was properly installed after removing the old vinyl and installing appropriate underlayment material. The outlet was installed on the correct wall and the shelf was placed at the direction of [Member Name Removed]. Over the course of the project, five workmen were involved in doing the work; including a licensed plumber and licensed electrician. The exhaust fan was never included in the original proposal and, of course, a nominal add-on charge was included. And finally, [Member Name Removed] did purchase her own paint and the cost of $129.76 was deducted from the final bill."
