I had a fantastic experience with Don's after a maddening experience trying to buy a similar washer-dryer from Best Buy. Don's were quick and responsive to questions and made booking the delivery/installation very easy. They were understanding when I needed to rescheduled the delivery due to street restrictions the day before with PWSA. The delivery was as smooth as anyone can ask for. I received a text estimate and could track where they were (nice when it's cold!) and even received a call estimating their arrival time from the delivery guys. Both guys made quick work of installation while being friendly and clean. The protocols for delivery were clear due to pandemic restrictions and made me feel more comfortable. I'd happily purchase an appliance from Don's again!

Could not figure out how they bill. There is a cost for them to come out, then a service charge per item. They were only at my house repairing these items at the same time and they charged a service charge for each item. Parts are added on to that cost.

The entire experience was excellent. We began with a knowledgable, hard working sales associate. The refrigerator was delivered and installed on the promised date. Their installers had to make modifications to a cabinet that is above the unit. That work was first rate. The installers and delivery people were great guys who respected our home and left it clean. They were also very careful when taking the old unit out and installing the new one. There were some tight fits. No nicked walls or woodwork. When they took the new unit off the truck they called to my attention two small dents on one of the sides. They gave me the option of ordering a new unit or a very fair credit to my credit card account. Since the dents will never be seen, I chose the latter. I probably would have never seen these dents if they had not called them to my attention. I'll be back to Don's in the future. I like dealing with honest, local merchants.

I contacted them via their website and they answered fairly promptly. The microwave was competitively priced. The delivery wasn't cheap but no higher than anyone else. They called in advance to reschedule but when they did deliver, they came withing the window they said. The delivery and set up was fine. They waited until I tested the new microwave (to make sure it worked) before leaving.

I bought a Fisher and Paykel single drawer dishwasher. Upon installing it, I got an error code which was identified as being a heating error. I was referred to Dons Aplicances via the Fisher and Paykel customer support. I set up and appointment and the service man was prompt and professional. After working for about an hour, the tech identified the problem to be with the heating plate. They had to schedule another apointment, which was just a couple days later. To have a reschedule so soon was amazing. So the new tech came and fixed my heating plate and ran the dishwasher to insure its working. No error codes came up. The tech left and I loaded and ran my dishwasher just a couple minutes later, and my dishwasher started to leak. I immediately called Dons appliances and the tech came right back to my house and cleaned up all the water even the water I missed in my cabinet. He stripped the dishwasher apart trying to locate the problem. After about 45 minutes he was unable to locate the source. So he filled the dishwasher with water and sat there for 15 minutes just looking for a leak, no leak. So we started to run the dishwasher stopped it mid cycle and forced the water to drain again no leak. The tech was awesome to come back that fast and to even sit for 15 minutes just staring at the dishwasher for any sign of leakage.

Very uneventful process. The guys came in, uninstalled and hauled out the old fridge and installed the new one in less than 1 hour. Simple and painless.

We had problems with our refrigerator. It was a manufacturer's problem. The ice maker didn't work. They fixed it once and it did work for three weeks. They had to come back and fix it again. That was a KitchenAid refrigerator. Don's Appliances did a great job responding to the problem. It was a manufacturer's problem. It wasn't the local appliance dealer. They had their own repair people and they did a fine job.

When we bought our new GE Profile stove in November 2013, we chose Don's Appliances because of its reputation for good service. Sadly, the stove broke within the first few weeks because of a faulty part. No problem, we thought. This place has good service. What a joke.
First, they ordered the wrong parts, which took a couple of months to arrive. Then we had to continually hound the service people to see what was going on with the new parts (repeated promises that they would call back with a delivery date never happened.
Luckily, the stove was still in functioning condition.) In APRIL, more than 4 months after the oven broke and after we called AGAIN, we were told that the part HAD just arrived. Unfortunatenly, it, too, was broken!! Somehow, in the chaos that is Don's service operation, they still sent out a repairman to try to install the broken part--ignoring one voice message and one conversation in which we tried to warn them that they had already told us about this problem. The only plus is that the repair person himself noticed the flaw and was equally frustrated for having been sent out with it in the first place. Now we are back to getting more promises from Don's about repairs for our new stove. A very sad experience from this supposedly "premier" appliance retailer.

I have been very pleased with them and they are very professional. They have very high end appliances and have a nice repair department. I am not sure it is the cheapest repair, but it is their own repair department and they have been easy to work with. They are willing to work on the appliances even though they are out of warranty and they work with us to make us happy. Through the years I probably have bought nine or ten appliances from them. We have some rental property and we use them for those appliances. They came right out for the service.

It went fine in the end. The first range hood had a dent when taken out of the package. So did the second one. They drove to Pittsburgh and got another hood from their provider and had it opened before they took it. They returned and installed it. They refunded part of the installation charge (which was less than any other that I checked. The next appliance that I need will come from them.

I have really mixed feelings about Don's. First off, I'd use them again because I have a warranty through them. That's the only reason. I've been tremendously disappointed with Don's overall, although the folks who actually installed our appliances were excellent.
We chose Don's because they carried the higher end brands we needed for the house, given some unusual dimensions we needed to work with. Our first purchase was a fridge which went pretty well. After our old oven died, we decided to replace the other appliances which were all dated and seemed to be failing within weeks of each other. We placed an order, were told our appliances would be installed before Thanksgiving, and the saga began. Don's staff was terrible at keeping us apprised and advocating for their customer with the supplier. Ultimately, we never received our appliances until January (with an order placed in October). We were without a wall oven for Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, and the new year.
As I stated earlier, the installers were very good. Polite, careful with our property, and responsive.
However, yesterday my wall oven failed. I called Don's service department and was struck, yet again, by how irritating it is to work with certain aspects of this company. I found the person who I talked with in the service department to be very disrespectful. He asked if my husband could "help" me find the circuit breaker - maybe that was the problem and it just needed to be reset. I also mentioned that the temperature of the top oven never was true and he asked "if I'd read the owner's manual" since that was addressed in there. I had by the way and it still wasn't working. I was also informed that our extended warranty was through a different company and we should have been informed by our salesperson (we weren't, what a surprise) but it wasn't an issue anyway since our oven hasn't been in the house even a year yet. Lucky us.
Well, we have an appointment scheduled so we'll see how it goes. I expect the technician to be just fine.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Don's for sales and have very mixed views on repairs. If you can stomach the condescending and rude people who schedule your appointment, the technician will likely be fine.

I contacted Don's when it was taking longer than usual for the laundry to dry and there was an intermittant odor of gas. At first contact I was told an appointment was more than a week away. However, within 2 days the service man called, said there was a cancellation, could he come right out....which he did. Both persons were very polite and professional, proceeded to do the work and check the work. They left the area in good condition and as found. They thoroughly explained the problem and their repair of the problem. I was more than pleased with the work done but disappointed in the fee charged....I felt this was a bit high. However, I would recommend Don's for repair of large appliances. They are knowledgable and professional.
