DC MULLINS CONSTRUCTION

Don't be fooled by the 5-star reviews and by Gary's sales pitch... unfortunately you cannot rely on the pricing on DC Mullins' proposal - or on their word that they will refund your deposit when they cannot complete the job for the agreed-upon contract price. My husband and I had two signed contracts with DC Mullins for fixed prices. A couple weeks after they were supposed to start the job Gary told us that the materials were over $22,000 higher than David thought they were going to be (because he did not actually price them out when he prepared our proposal months earlier) so our options were to either pay more than the contract price or have the contracts canceled and our deposits returned. We were upset about the significant last-minute cost increase so we opted to cancel the contracts and have our deposits refunded. If only it were that easy... After numerous emails back and forth over the past two months we managed to finally get a portion of our deposit refunded, but David would not refund the entire amount because he said he might have to pay his supplier a restocking fee. As an "elite preferred James Hardie contractor" and "the largest Hardie installer in the area" you would think that DC Mullins would be able to get a restocking fee for one order of siding waived under the circumstances. Regardless DC Mullins should absorb any such fees due to their errors. The customer should not lose money because DC Mullins failed to price materials and then breached the contract. We are now in the process of filing consumer complaints with the PA Office of Attorney General, BBB, and small claims court because we just want our money back.

We had such a great experience with David and his team from DC Mullins. From quote phase dealing with Gary through project completion, the team was fantastic. David definitely cares about the details, the James Hardie product isn't easy to do correctly, which is why it is even more important that David and his team are certified and pay attention to the little things. Any concern or question that we had was promptly answered or dealt with. I will work with David and his team on anything that I cannot do myself in the future. Thank you!

David and his crew did an excellent job. They were fast and efficient and extremely professional. The quality of their work can't be overstated. David was very helpful working with us and guiding us through the planning and selection process and our house looks great! Would recommend him without hesitation.

It was on time and reasonably priced. He was professional and cleaned up everything. He was neat and clean about his work. I had no issues and he did everything that we asked. He showed up when he told me he would.

Dave Mullins and his crew of Andy and Matt installed Hardie board onto our house. The job they did was very professional and neat. They were always on time and very nice to deal with. We've said that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and would definitely call him again for future jobs. Lately, we've have trouble with contractors e.g. not returning calls, not showing for the job, numerous excuses. Dave was great to deal with.

We had an addition put on by another contractor, it was a horrible experience and that contractor never finished the job. We contacted several other companies for estimates on finishing the job. No one would do it. Finally we contacted D C Mullins and Dave agreed to help us out. His price was fair and close to other estimates that we recieved. They did beautiful work, fixed all of our problems. They were friendly, super clean, on time and very professional. They did siding, soffit and fascia, gutters and some minor carpentry work. One item they did exceptionally well was the downspout on the front of our porch. The first contractor did a terrible job and connected it to the house using scrap wood. Every other contractor we had out said they would have to add a huge and quot;elbowand quot; that would stick out a few feet from the porch. They did this perfectly, we don't have the big and quot;elbowand quot; everyone told us we had to have, they took the time to do it right! Everything was excellent. They even fixed some mistakes/problems the other complany left that i didn't ask to have repaired. I only wish i knew about them before our addition. I will be using them for everything i need in the future. I was so nice to work with a company that takes pride in their work and are concerned about customer service. This is a class act company.
