On Wednesday the 26th, our refrigerator began to cool poorly. By the 27th, it had stopped cooling all together. Working with my home warranty company I spent two days trying to find someone who could take a look at it. Finally, I just started calling as many local small & large appliance repair services in the Pittsburgh and Greater Pittsburgh area as I could find. By Friday afternoon, no one even wanted to return our call. Finally, one of the service providers, who was booked up, recommended we call Crown. We called them up, a human being answered almost immediately, which was different from most of the other companies. They were a little defensive saying that all of their folks were out on jobs, and it wasn't likely that they could help us today, but that a technician would at least speak to us today. Which is exactly what happened. Gary called me back within an hour, and told me that he could fit me in on Saturday, and even though it was after hours, and even though it was overtime, it was their normal low service charge. When Gary arrived he was terse, but efficient. Unfortunately for us, he determined that our fridge had a coolant leak that necessitated buying a new one. Although pressed for time he did, grudgingly, stay to talk to our home warranty company. Once he was on the phone he gave them a professional, and concise summation of what he found. I paid him, and he left.
Description of Work: My refrigerator broke, and I needed someone to come out immediately and look at it. We had over $500 worth of food we'd just purchased for the Memorial Day weekend, and a house full of guests. Crown was the only service company willing to come out on the holiday weekend. They were able to accommodate us within 24 hours, were punctual and knowledgeable about our issue.
