Called Dave Craddock, Sr. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, about malfunctioning thermostat wires that caused the furnace to stop working. He returned my call the following Monday morning, March 9th, apologizing for the delay in getting back to me. Something about hurting his back over the weekend. He said he doesn't work in HVAC and would not be comfortable dealing with thermostat wires because he'd have to make sure the furnace worked afterwards and he doesn't understand much about that part of HVAC. I asked him for a referral and he gave me the name of an HVAC contractor he likes to use.
About 15 years ago when I first started major home repairs, I used him exclusively as an electrician. He was highly recommended to me then, and I have since highly recommended him to my friends who are also home owners. Although I don't have as many electrical needs now, he is still my "go to" electrician. He has always been prompt and professional. He is, as far as I can tell, a non-smoker (that makes a big difference to me since I am allergic to cigarette smoke/smell). Lastly, his prices have always seemed fair to me.
I'm grateful that he was upfront and honest over-the-phone and did not waste my time.

The two Daves (father and son) were the third electricians who addressed a nightmarish problem: a loose connection that was acting up sporadically for several months. Lights would flicker on/off, my Comcast equipment was almost always affected, and worst of all I routinely had a burning smell when it acted up, which was utterly terrifying. My regular electrician came twice and spent more than 1/2 hour trying to find the problem, but came up with nothing (a few months ago he had put in a new circuit breaker for me). He said we had to wait until the circuit would finally burn itself out, staying out, and then we could find the problems. When the burning smell continued I decided to bring in a second electrician (a friend's referral) but he too couldn't come up with anything and agreed with the first electrician's plan of action. Then I talked to a coworker who gave me a glowing review of Dave Craddock; she has a long history of him. Well, thank Heavens I followed her advice and had the Daves in. They were absolutely wonderful! They pulled the wall sockets and grounded 10 of my plugs (which I knew should have been done years ago.) They checked everything the first electrician did and said everything seemed to be in order. What they charged me to change 10 plugs was extremely reasonable. The next day after the Daves were at the house the circuit finally blew. They have 24 hour emergency service. Dave explained that this was not an emergency and the house wouldn't be damaged if I had to wait a few days for him to come out, as he was very busy. I trusted him 100% and decided I wanted him to do the work, as noted above he is extremely reasonable in his fees, has a ton of experience, was very thorough in his explanations and review of the situation and they are downright really good folks! (I have no problems with my first electrician, but since the Daves just put in new plugs and were willing to come on the weekend I decided to stick with them, especially because of my friend's strong referral). Once again they came on a Saturday and fixed the problems in 2 hours. They also hung around to make sure all my electrical equipment was working fine. The Daves alleviated a tremendous headache for me--they are a Godsend! The problem turned out to be the new but bad circuit was defective--an example of junk being manufactured today.

I was very positive about their excellent service. The materials that they used were good. He did it on time and for a reasonable amount of money.

The outlets were great and the quality was good. He was cautious and professional. He cleaned up after himself. His price was reasonable. Whatever I asked him to do, he did it and I had no problems. I was really pleased with him and I would highly recommend him.
