He discovered a problem with our electrical panel, which totally amazed the electrician that we hired to come in and perform the fix. The electrician stated that not many home inspectors ever catch this type of issue. Same with the chimney professional, they stated that they were surprised that Scott caught our defect as well.
He checked everything as if we were the buyers so that we would know ALL issues, from the roof to the basement and the electrical and plumbing, not to mention the foundation.
Very, very thorough!
We are going to use him again for the purchase of our new home.
We would definitely recommend Scott. It is nice to have confidence and trust in people who have expertise that you don't have.
One thing that was unfortunate but that was outside of Scott's hands is the fact that he couldn't get up on the roof due to the fact that it had snowed the night before. Thankfully it was a new roof or else I would have been concerned that it didn't get inspected. I guess this is just something to keep in mind for the future if we ever buy a house again in the winter timeframe. The AC couldn't be tested as well which was another thing I was unaware of having never bought a house before (I believe it has to be above a certain temperature to run it).
I asked my neighbor if he knew anyone who did home inspections. He recommended Scott Kelly.
Scott is a professional who takes pride in his work.
His detailed report helped us sell the house within a week.
I would recommend Scott to anyone who wanted an honest evaluation of their home's condition.
Scott arrived early to our scheduled appointment and had already done a quick overview of the property.
He then proceeded to do a very thorough inspection. He checked every window and every outlet.
He filled the tubs and ran the water.
Throughout the process he talked about all the things that he was looking for and diagnosing problems.
He also answered all my questions and even gave me tutorials on how to use everything in the house.
