I have been going to Colaizzi's for years. I am always astounded at how they bend over backwards to accommodate a wide range of clientele.
I have even seen the kindest approaches to caring for a client with memory issues and making sure she was comfortable and surrounded with support. I'm not sure you would find that everywhere.
Vince always makes sure we are a team in choosing updates to cut and color. Dee does a magnificent pedicure (even with my extremely calloused feet to deal with) as I am a high heel-lovin' gal.
Many thanks every time.
It looked great! Vince made sure I was completely satisfied with the
results.
I was very pleased with the service. My hair has never looked this good!!
Vince Colaizzi determined a good hair color for me, made time in a busy schedule
to do highlights, and gave a very good haircut. He gave me information about what
my hair needed, how to style it, and suggestions regarding the products to use.
I will absolutely go back!
Sheila from Hampton
This was my first appointment, I loved it and went back the next day for more. The regular wax women was great, sorry I forgot and lost her card. She was professional and helpful. She gave me tips and truly seemed like she cared. I had my whole leg done; however she tried to tell me that I only needed part. I have never had someone try to down sell things. How honest and wonderful is that. She was ale to do my legs and lip in the time frame I had. I have sensitive skin with lots of thick hair. She paid special attention to my skin and gave me special lotion and tips to treating it. The redness that usually lasts 3 days was gone by morning. I liked her service so much I went back for a bikini the next day. I thought it was going to suck and be painful never mind embarrassing but she was professional and almost painless. I will recommend the service and her to everyone who needs a waxing. Lets be honest waxing is not that bad and it is better the shaving while on vacation.
I just started with Vince Colaizzi in mid-2013, after yrs of using Cost-Cutters. Cost-Cutters was cheap -- and OK, as long as I had my regular stylist, who was terrific. Then she left on a prolonged pregnancy leave. After that I noticed that the stylists I was assigned to at random did, in fact, a random job of hair-cutting. (Maybe they all guessed they were just temporary substitutes until Michele returned from pregnancy leave.)
When a friend suggested that I could get an even cheaper and equivalent hair cut by doing it myself in the back yard, I realized I needed to explore other options.
It took Vince Colaizzi 3 sessions to shape up my random-chop hair cut into something with style. (And he warned me at the outset that it would take that long for the mismatched chops to grow out.) At the end of that 3rd session, looking in the mirror, I realized I'd received the best styling job (for me) that I'd ever seen.
Vince and his staff are professional, experienced, courteous and pleasant to be around. The salon looks like a home in many areas. And it has pedicure services, which I plan to use in the springtime. I doubt they'll be the cheapest pedicure services, as the hair styling and coloring are not the cheapest at Colaizzi's -- BUT: I've learned the hard way, over the years,
that I'm going to get what I pay for!
NOTE: I've found equivalent salons (in terms of quality) in Shadyside and downtown -- but they charge more, possibly due to location.
It was very easy to schedule an appointment--I was able to get in the next day at a time that fit my schedule. My stylist was Alex. She is wonderfully personable. Even before the shampoo we sat down and talked about my usual hair regimen, why I'd waited so long for a cut, and what my goals were for the new cut. I don't have a lot of time to spend on my hair and am not a "product" person so I really needed something that would require, at most, a few minutes of blow-drying in the morning. She offered some suggestions and we collaborated on the final decision.
I was impressed with the overall atmosphere--comfortable, not chemical or commercial. Just seeing the interactions of the other stylists with their clients it was obvious that they build relationships and get to know their customers. Alex is a very skilled stylist and she really took the time to understand my hair. I was thrilled with my cut and left feeling great! I will definitely be going back to my new regular salon!
