Tom and his crew did a great job. Responded quickly to my call,. Showed up on time for work and my driveway (which had not been repaired in 24 years) looks like new. They will be back in the spring to seal.

It was fabulous.  He did go ahead and do the work. He was great and I really liked him. Its probably time for me to get it resealed and I will be calling him. It was a whole crew.  He was honest, professional, paid attention to the specifics like where it meets the street, the car must not hit the ground. He made sure that was the case. When he found that it didn't meet my specifications, without my telling him, he went and  refixed it. At the end of a job, he tested and found that he needed to do something else and did it.

Very punctual, meticulous, they ran into a few issues on my driveway which they solved wonderfully. Very honest. They didn't add on to the price. Very informative, didn't hide anything.

He's got a lot of experience, he's somebody local and when we called him, he responded right away. I got other quotes and they were all doing about the same thing but he was probably a little less expensive. He came when he said he would and he seemed to be professional.

He called me back, and was yelling on the phone. He let me know he couldn't give me a bid. I let him know that I would be available by the end of the month and he still hasn't called back.

Paid attention to detail.  Work was neat as could be.  Paid a wee bit more than paid others in the past;  however, the sealant they used has, so far, shown no signs of deterioration whatsoever!

Went quite well. My driveway is a little over 1000 sq ft and they finished the entire job in under 4 hours. They have many machines and had a crew of about 7 people working on it. Cleaned up before they left. There are some minor imperfections, but overall I am quite happy with the work and would recommend them to others too. Would use them in the future, but I hope I would not have to for the next 20 years :-), except for sealing the driveway.

Not very well. I was quoted a price of $ 1275.00 if paid in cash, half at beginning of work and the remainder upon completion. I didn't

know this price didn't include a written contract. When I inquired about a contract I was told that would cost more. Since they started

removing the old driveway I was kinda stuck. Because he was giving me a cash price it wasn't going through the company. I gave Tom Rabb $650.00 to get started. I was never given the price for a written contract because he really didn't want to give me one. I asked how thick the asphalt was going to be, I was told 2 inches before compacting. I told Tom that wasn't thick enough, he assured

me that it was. I told Mr. Rabb that I had to go to the bank to get the rest of the money $625.00 he said he would take a check. Only

if it was made out to Tom Rabb not to Classic Asphalt. Since I am disabled and receive Social Security Disability price was of utmost

importance. Two days after the work was done certain parts of the driveway started to sink in. I called Mr.Rabb about my concerns,

he came back a couple of days later to inspect his work. Mr. Rabb was very courteous as he explained that if I wanted a perfect job

that would be more money, and that no water would get underneath the asphalt. He made me feel as though my concerns were not valid. I asked Tom Rabb how much it would cost to satisfy my problems. I received not a direct answer. Now classic Asphalt is

supposed to return before the winter snow arrives to add a sealer to the driveway. Since I don't have a contract he really doesn't

have to show up. Now my driveway is starting to get as bumpy as the old asphalt I don't know what to do, did I waste $1275.00. I hope I don't have to redo my driveway, because I cannot afford it right now.  This was my first time using this service. All that I have

to show that I had any dealings with Classic Asphalt in a business card with no company address, and a bank envelope with a hand

written receipt that shows $650.00 cash down payment and a balance of $625.00 paid in full by check # 2867 on 8/5/2013 not signed by Tom Rabb just initialed T.A.R.  Tom Rabb said that I was satisfied with the job he didn't have to return to finish the job,he wanted payment when he finished. Tom Rabb didn't even use two inches of asphalt. He used 3/4 inch asphalt which is not satisfactory standards. When his son returned one month later to seal the driveway, my complaint was duly noted. A new complaint resolver was supposed to reopen my claim. I have not heard from your complaint department in two months please contact me by phone. This contractor is not a fair dealer!
Response from Classic Asphalt

"There is no issue to be resolved. Given the simple driveway straight into a garage with no turn-around. I listened to the customer who was a veteran. On on disability. We gave a quality job with adequate material for a fair price. The customer made the final payment satified with the product. Went back as discussed sealcoated the driveway and again the customer was satisfied."

The contractor never had the courtesy to call back, after two calls on my part.  Even if he where on vacation, he is able to pick up his voicemail, so that is no excuse.

This is the third time we've used Classic Asphalt. Tom is very responsive, professional, and courteous.  The driveway is rather long, had some bad spots from snow removal plowing, and broadens into a rather large apron at the bottom where our and our neighbors garages sit.  The work is very nice and neatly done. We'll definitely continue to use Tom.

The contractor responded right away to stop out to give an estimate.  They performed the work on the day scheduled with professionalism, courtesy and friendliness, completing the construction.  They showed competency explaining the process they were performing and gave recommendations for future driveway treatment.

Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.   They were very clear about the costs and what the price would and would not cover.  They completed the job within the time-frame, gave me a few days prior notice of their arrival, were considerate of the neighbors, and cleaned up the site.

Overall the experience was good.  Tom was responsive in coming out to give us a quote.  Their price was in line with the other quotes we had.  Once we signed the contract and waited a few weeks I had to call to check on status.  Tom said they would be out the following week but it ended up being another couple of weeks before they actually showed up.  I know some of it was weather related but I still felt it took longer than it should have.  Tom did call the day before they were coming out and they were there the next day.  The quality of the work was good and we were happy with the resurface job.  In conclusion overall we were happy with the completed job but we did find their overall responsiveness a bit frustrating at times.

Two phone attempts made and after the last attempt we were contacted, unfortuately we were out purchasing supplies for inside house projects and the gentlmen stop by to evailuate the property. He inform my husband the driveway was a mess (no kidding), he refuse to write up and estimate and leave it, he said only if we choose to go with his company will he provide one. Well we are still in the market for a contractor....next!

They were recommended by a family friend and I also looked them up on Angies List.  After calling to get an estimate, Tom was out within a couple days and gave us a fair estimate of the cost for multiple services.  We decided to go with the cleaning and resealing of our driveway.  Tom let me know that he would be out within a couple of weeks and will have it done during the same time as other jobs in the area.  They were back out in two weeks and finished the job that day.  It took a couple of hours and they did a great job.  Very professional and they took pride in the job they finished.

Called several times and they eventually called me back after I'd left a couple messages.  We wanted an estimate for our driveway in order to get it done in the next 3 months or so...no rush on the completion timing.  Tom was polite and asked several questions.  After listening and asking when we wanted to get it done, he told me he ran his business on "spiritual principles" and that Wexford where we live was quite a ways from Penn Hills where they are located (not sure why he connected spiritual principles to location, but whatever...guess he meant he wanted to be honest and that he wasn't interested). I pointed out that our location is listed as being in his area of service on Angie's list, but he then told me that there were several other companies in our area that he could recommend since we wanted several estimates. When I told him that I'd already had two estimates from "closer" businesses and that there was a big difference between the two figures and thus wanted another estimate, he hemmed and hawed and eventually said that he "might" be able to get up to look at our driveway in the next several weeks.  I told him not to bother because we'd have a signed contract with someone else by then.
Got the feeling that he was busy with work closer to his home base and couldn't be bothered to "travel" to my area to even look at a potential future job.  Recommend that he shouldn't list our area as being within our range of service with Angie's List--this was a waste of time and effort and I wouldn't have bothered if he weren't on the list of those willing to work in our area.  Disappointed.
Response from Classic Asphalt

"Sorry to disapoint Member. In reference to the spiritual principle, honesty, had nothing to do with location. Customer indicated she had acquired 2 bids far apart in price. I wanted to come to her house in a few weeks not to acquire the job, just to give her a better understanding whom to go with. She nicely decline my offer. Depending on work load, We do service the Wexford area. That you for your understanding."
