My husband and I had a very negative experience with a different inspection company a couple of years ago, so we were extremely cautious when searching for a new inspector. John Fleenor exceeded our expectations to such an extent that this is the second time we are utilizing his services, and we have no regrets whatsoever. We will hire him every time we need an inspector. He inspected the entire extent of the house carefully and reported every single issue. He discussed each issue with us, highlighting the more urgent ones. He was very patient with all our questions and remained available afterward for additional inquiries after we received the report. We also hired him for the radon control and pest control tests. The price was fair and totally worth it.

The best home inspection we have ever had. John was extremely thorough when going through our future home. Things that I would have never thought to look at, even after making previous purchases, were examined. The report provided was top notch. Everything was in a logical order. Pictures of the actual structure as well as additional information for problem areas were provided. Not to mention how quickly the report came back. I feel 100% more confident in going in to purchase the home.

We have used John’s services twice. He has been quick to respond to our calls and he is extremely thorough in his report. He is very friendly and is able to explain issues in ways that lay people can easily understand. He has been wonderful at helping us know which repair issues are minor and which issues are serious. We have recommended him to our friends as a top notch inspector. My father, a retired construction project manager, has been extremely impressed with his reports.

Mr Fleenor performed a very thorough inspection and was very clear as to both the minor and major issues the property had. He answered all questions and provided an in depth explanation as to why the issues occurred and how to cost efficiently fix them. I am absolutely shocked at how intensive the report is. This was our first one so we didn’t know what to expect but I think it went well. The gentleman who did the inspection was very professional. When we got our inspection list back it was in great detail with pictures of our house and pictures of what it should look like. Small professional recommendations. He sat outside with us at the end and gave us a small run down of issues which followed with a very detailed inspection list. I think he did a great job.

We hired John from Citywide Home Inspections to do a home inspection before closing on the purchase of our first home. This was a 2400 square foot home built in 1897 so there was plenty to inspect here! John was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and approachable. The inspection included all aspects of the home, including structural, electrical, plumbing, and other systems. Because a recent potential sale had fallen through, we were actually able to view a different inspection report before hiring John, and it quickly became clear that he goes above and beyond what other area home inspectors might do. For example, he walked out on the roof to inspect it whereas the other inspectors simply looked from ground level. John also identified some potential HVAC issues that the others had glossed over or missed entirely. Everything was documented thoroughly in writing and photos within the final report. John was very helpful in allowing my wife and I to accompany him through the home as he worked and explaining his findings to us as first time homeowners. He provided a good outlook on potential impact of these issues over time and approximate cost to address them, yet was also frank about suggesting where we might need other experts (e.g., an electrician or plumber) to come in. Overall, John's thorough report gave us a negotiating tool that helped us reach a fair deal with the seller and feel comfortable with the home we are moving into.

John was absolutely excellent. Most important to us was his care and attention to detail -- he was meticulous in his documentation (sending us 77 pages of detailed notes and photos on the house we were considering). John was happy to talk us through the inspection as it progressed, and gave us entirely clear, comprehensible insight. As it turned out, John uncovered two very substantial issues that (according to my understanding) a previous inspector had either missed, or totally mis-characterized. While our negotiations continue, it's clear to me that John has saved us a substantial amount of money (whether that'll be through avoiding inhereted problems on a sale, or through a reduced price is not totally clear yet). Bottom line, John was fantastic -- will recommend widely to our friends, and without a doubt seek his insight in the future.

Second time I have used Citywide. Very thorough and helpful reports. Being able to access Multi-List homes and provided multiple types of inspection is a big plus. Would be helpful if they also did mold inspections. Responses to follow-up questions could be more timeley.

I had been recommended John by a friend, and I'm glad I took him up on the recommendation. He was professional and thorough, as well as friendly. Also, he welcomed (and encouraged) me to tag along during the inspection (which is very important for a home inspection), and took time to explain and discuss the findings in detail as we went. The final written report was promptly delivered, and was a very thorough PDF file with various categories (and working internal hyperlinks links to make going through the document from a computer very easy).

John Fleenor is incredibly knowledgeable about all the aspects of a house, from foundation to roof. He was a pleasure to work with and did a great job of explaining potential issues in the house we are buying. He also offered suggestions for how to repair things in an economical way. The money we spent on the inspection was money well spent.

John is amazing! It was so easy to book the appointment (online); due to work schedule I was not able to attend but my realtor promised I had nothing to worry about because John is "the best in the business." (Note: my realtor has over 30 years experience in this area). He didn't exaggerate. My incredibly detailed but easy to read report was ready THE SAME NIGHT. I've talked to people who paid much more than I did for a similarly sized home, and didn't feel they got much for their money. I had the exact opposite experience, really can't recommend Citywide enough. Also: John is a really nice person. I didn't need to interact with him for this project, but have met him socially and he's a lovely guy.
