Brooks Hardwood Floor Refinishing

We have had Brooks do several floors in our house now and are very happy with his work! (Details on the projects below.) Brooks is a perfectionist who does beautiful and meticulous work. He does all the work himself so you know you can trust the project will be done well. He is also easy to work with, reliable, and charges very reasonable rates. We will definitely be hiring Brooks again for other floor projects in our house! We recently bought an old home in Pittsburgh (built in 1895) and have had Brooks rehab and refinish the floors in several rooms so far. He was able to hand sand and remove stains on the original parquet floor in the dining room which other floor specialists told us would not come out. When we bought the house, the landing of the staircase was unstained oak while the stairs and surrounding wainscoting were stained dark. Brooks was able to stain the landing to match the wood around it with exceptional precision. He was also able to disguise a few very unfortunate gouges in our living room floor that were made by the movers (we had JUST had Brooks redo this floor prior to moving in so were very disappointed about the damage caused by the movers). We were very happy Brooks could fix it!

Nonexistent. My husband and I both attempted multiple times to contact the provider by phone and email. This is a big disappointment, as we were really interested. Based on their level of responsiveness, I'm happy we chose not to use them and I will not be recommending their services. Customers should at least be given a courtesy call if they are not taking on new clients at that time.

Brooks did a very, very good job of sanding and re-finishing the floors.  There was no dust from the sanding process in the home.  He fixed a few areas of the floor that had some marks willingly and made everything look great.  He is very concerned about doing a quality job.  He provides a price for his work and adheres to his pricing.  He does high quality work.  The floors look fantastic and he was very cooperative with us as it related to the timing of moving furniture so that he could begin his work on the floors.  I would recommend Brooks for future jobs.

I have not been successful in reaching this company, although I've tried both through voicemail and electronically for several months. This is a disappointment, as he comes highly recommended.

The contractor is still unpredictable sometimes.  You make appointments and they don't show up; when you make appointment with somebody they actually showed up; they meet your expectations and that's a good thing.  He's professional and responsive and timely.  I would recommend them to anybody.

Price was very fair. By far the best quote we received (he charged $2/sq foot less than a leading floor guy). He responded quickly to all questions, and gave us exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend.

Brooks was great! He was by far the cheapest of anyone I checked into but the quality was still top notch and he takes great pride in his work. He agreed to a set flat fee per square foot and stayed right on quote even though he recommended a third coat of Poly for the floors when we only planned on 2 coats. It's rare to find someone that cares about their work enough to spend more time and money that comes out of their profits to make sure it is the best quality in the end. Already have recommended him to other people.

Brooks did fantastic work. We were lucky that he had a cancellation and were able to get in him very quickly. He completed the work within two weeks, which was quick for the amount of work there was. We had four different types of wood used in our house, and Brooks did a great job of matching the stain on all four (ended up doing an extra coat, I think). Would use again.

They provided a very good value. They did a good job at a good price. The person who came out to do the job was prompt. He cleaned up after himself. His workmanship was what I expected. He was professional.

We found Brooks on Angie's List, and we called him because he had an excellent rating. He presented a written quote, and was able to start and finish the work in 5 days. He was courteous and professional, and I will call him again as the need arises.

Brooks did a fantastic job. He gave us the best estimate too. We had to move the furniture out of the living/dining rooms before we left for vacation (which wasn't fun), but it was well worth it!! Our floors were really worn. There was a black stain near the front door that I didn't think would come out. Brooks was able to get the black stain out and we came home to beautiful shiny new floors. I highly recommend him.
